Traceve Posted November 1, 2006 Report Share Posted November 1, 2006 Ben's POV (Nic's) That was pretty lucky, I thought to myself as I went down stairs. If that girl saw the bruises on my back, I would be in big trouble. As I sat on Ms Vale's big couch, I felt sad that everyone was having a good time except me. I don't know why I had to come to this stupid party. I mean, I'm only fourteen for goodness sake but mum had to make me didn't she? "Oh no!" I muttered to my self. That girl was coming down from upstairs towards this direction. I had to escape. As I started pushing through the crowd, the girl went out to this other girl and they both started following me. Why couldn't they just leave me alone? When I got outside, I started running but the girls went after me. "Wait up." One of them yelled. "We want to help you." Why would they help me? They don't even know me. I started running faster and faster, trying to escape. I had run around two blocks already but they wouldn't give up. When I looked back to see how far away they were, I didn't notice the person walking the opposite way and I crashed right into them, almost knocking them over. "Watch it!" The lady growled at me. "Sorry. I should've been more careful." I replied. "That's ok. Just watch where you're going next time." While I was appoligising to the woman, the two girls had caught up. Out of breath, the girl that I met in the bathroom said "Thanks Leah, you stopped the kid for us." "Yeah but I almost got knocked out doing it." Leah replied. "Why were you running anyway?" I stood there silently while Leah and the girls were looking at me. Deep down I was running because I was scared but I couldn't tell them that. "You can tell us mate." The girl I met in the bathroom's friend said. "My name is Lauren and this is my sister Baily. We want to be your friend." "No one has wanted to be my friend. How are you two different?" I nervously asked them. "We are different. We don't judge people." Lauren explained. "And we're new to Summer Bay so we need some friends." I smiled. Lauren’s Pov (Soph’s) “So, What’s your name?” I asked the nervous looking boy. “Uh…Ben…” he stuttered. “Hey, why are you so nervous?” Baily asked looking at ben, “It’s that I still don ‘t get why you want to be friends with me…” He replied quietly looking at me, “We’re new too Ben, we now how it feels to be left out, and not have any new friends!” I replied smiling. We started to walk down the road that lead to the beach opening, “Fancy a walk?” Baily asked Ben. “uh, no sorry, I have to go home, my parents will atta….” He stopped himself. “What was that?” I asked curiously. “Uh, nothing” he replied rushing. “Um, maybe we could meet up tomorrow?” he asked, sort of smiling. “Yeh, totally, that would be awesome, here, have my mobile number” I said, grabbing a pen out of Baily’s purse and grabbing Ben’s hand to write my number, “Give us a call, and we’ll meet up ok?” Baily added. “Yeh..Cool!” He smiled as he turned around and jogged back in the other direction. “Bail, there is something about that boy, we need to find out what…” I said curiously, “Like Oh My Gosh! I was just thinking the same thing! Maybe we have like twin telepathy or something? How awesome would that be?” She smiled looking at me for an answer, “Bail! Seriously, Get’cha head in the situation! That boy might be in danger! And all you can think about is Twin Telepathy?” I said seriously. “I’m sorry, I was just curious…” She said with a sweet little smile, “It’s ok…” I sighed, “Back to the party or home?” I asked her. “Uh, PARTY!” She smiled. We had arrived back at the party about an hour earlier, I had been chatting to Lucas for most of the time, “Ok, Karaoke time!” Someone shouted loudly. “Come on Loz!” Baily exclaimed. “No!!!!! Baily!” I begged, “Please, not now!” I said nodding towards Lucas, “Only one chance to shine!” Lucas said smiling at me and then at baily. Baily dragged me toward the front of the room “We’re gonna sing, Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson,” Baily said smiling and looking in my direction, She started, “Grew up in a small town And when the rain would fall down I'd just stare out my window Dreaming of what could be And if I'd end up happy I would pray Trying hard to reach out But when I tried to speak out Felt like no one could hear me Wanted to belong here But something felt so wrong here So I'd pray I could break away” I added, “I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly.
