Chapter 10 “Martha, get up of the sofa and go tell him,” said Alf. “Martha you’re pregnant with his child he deserves to know,” said Sally. “That’s exactly what I told her!” said Kit. Martha listened to the three of them silently. “Martha you’ve got…” Alf began. “Just stop it!” said Martha. Alf, Sally and Kit shut up at once. “Thanks for the advice but no thanks!” said Martha. “I’ll choose when the time is right!” She got up of the sofa and went up to her room. “I’ll go now,” said Kit slowly. *** Rachel saw Jack sitting in ‘Noah’s’. She went up to him. “Hello,” she said. “Hi,” said Jack. “Congratulations, I forgot to say it to you earlier,” said Rachel. “Congratulations for what?” said Jack. “For Martha being pregnant!” said Rachel. “Martha’s pregnant?!” said Jack. Rachel realized what she had just done. “She didn’t tell you?” said Rachel but Jack had already left. *** He walked up to Sally’s front door and knocked. Martha answered it. “Oh, Hi Jack,” said Martha. “You’re pregnant and you didn’t tell me!” Jack cut across her. “How did you find out?” asked Martha, surprised. “That doesn’t matter! What matter’s is when were you planning on telling me,” said Jack. “I was going to tell you!” she said. “Martha! Your pregnant and your s…” he started. Martha looked at him. “Your pregnant and your single,” said Jack. Martha felt tears watering up in her eyes. “Your single, because I don’t want anything to do with you anymore,” said Jack.
