Extended Summary

Tane and Harper are walking near the beach. Tane notes Dana has messaged him asking for his roster and Harper explains she wants to arrange a double date for them with her and Xander. Tane sends Dana the roster and notes he wants to get to know Harper’s family. He also wants to let Cash know they’re together. Harper offers to go with him but Tane thinks he should do it himself.

Cash continues to watch the set-up at the Lyrik house. Tim and Eden pull up outside the house and share a kiss. Cash starts to move towards them but quickly changes direction when Tane appears and greets him, saying he was just bringing the bins back in. He denies any knowledge of the party and reluctantly agrees to talk to Tane. Inside, Tane tella Cash about being a couple with Harper now and how he knows she’s a friend of Cash’s. Cash isn’t really paying much attention to the conversation but says that he’s happy for them and knows Harper likes him.

Round the back of the Lyrik house, Eden and Tim arrive and Kirby tells Justin he’s Eden’s new man. Eden introduces Tim to Bree and to Justin, who thinks he’s met him before. Remi gets everyone’s attention and tells them he’s come into some money. Eden asks if the trust fund has come through, then her jaw drops as she realises it has. Remi says that every good thing that’s happened to him is down to the people there and he wants to share the money with them (except Tim, he adds). Kirby suggests he pay the rent and bills for the next month and is stunned when he immediately agrees. Remi also wants to use the money to get the band reset.

Harper arrives at the Newman house and Tane confirms he’s spoken to Cash. Cash greets her in a friendly manner but then starts obsessing about the music at the Lyrik house and, to their bemusement, insists on going across and telling them to turn it down. Over the road, Remi is explaining to Eden and Kirby just how much money he has. Theo turns up and Remi outlines his plan, which includes them all quitting their jobs and working on it full-time. Eden is keen but Kirby says she’s made a commitment to Mali and Theo isn’t sure either. Cash suddenly arrives, insisting he needs to speak to Eden. Seeing Tim, he says their relationship is wrong and he’s not the only person to think so. Eden tells him to leave. Cash does but Tim goes after him.

Tim follows Cash, saying he wants to help. Cash is unimpressed and tells him to stay away from Eden, as Eden and Remi follow him out. Tane and Harper hear the shouting in the street and head outside as well, as do Bree, Kirby and Justin. Tim says the way Cash has treated Eden isn’t right and he needs to leave her alone. Cash asks if sleeping with his client’s sister is right, which Justin picks up on. Tim continues that Cash needs to learn to handle his grief. Cash starts walking threateningly towards him but both Tane and Eden step in, with Tane managing to order Cash back to the house.

Tane and Harper walk Cash inside where he heads straight into his room, refusing to talk. Across the road, Justin tells Tim he knows where he’s seen him before; Tim ran a drug counselling session he went to a few years ago. He says his goodbyes to Remi, saying the first half of the party was great. Theo also says his goodbyes, saying he’ll have to think about the plan to restart Lyrik. Remi tells Bree he hopes Theo comes round to the idea. Kirby emerges from Eden’s room and Tim goes in to see her. He asks Eden if she wants him to go but she asks him to stay.

Justin turns up at the Diner, confirming to Leah that the party’s done, but is mostly concerned about Theo. He thinks Abigail has a history of substance abuse, explaining about her seeing Tim and that he’s not sure that Theo knows. Next morning, Cash sets up camp outside the Newman house again as Tane and Harper arrive back. After a few perfunctory words, Tane leaves and Harper sits down with Cash. He says Tane mentioned her good news and hopes he knows the full story. He declines to come inside with her.

Kirby tells Remi that Justin has asked her to come and chat and warns him that the Lyrik thing is a big deal for all of them. Eden emerges and says a quick goodbye to Kirby. Remi admits he spoke to Cash about Tim but can see he makes her happy. He asks if there’s anything he can do and Eden asks him to help her move away from Cash.

At the Diner, Justin turns up and is nervous to see Theo there, trying to shoo him out for a surf. He quietly explains to Leah that he wants to get rid of Theo before Kirby turns up. Theo gets a text from Abigail inviting him on a date and rushes off, passing Kirby as she arrives. Justin asks Kirby about Abigail. Kirby admits Abigail has a history of substance abuse but says it’s not the same as Valerie. Justin and Leah are both worried.

Remi wonders if Eden can move to somewhere else in the Bay. He’s happy to give her any help she needs, including buying her a place if she needs, but asks her to think about it. Outside, Cash approaches Tim’s car, trying the doors and looking through the windows. He finds the passenger side unlocked and starts searching the glove box, finding a bag of medical supplies. Tane appears and asks what he’s doing. Cash says it’s none of his business and walks off.

At the surf club, Remi and Bree discuss how Eden’s feeling. Remi greets Theo, who is passing through on the way to Salt and says he hasn’t made a decision about Lyrik. Remi says he wasn’t going to ask, although Bree knows he was. Remi tells Bree he wants to pay off her student loan. Bree initially refuses but when Remi reminds her she told him to spend the money she agrees. Meanwhile, Justin goes up to Salt and sits with Theo. Despite Theo protesting that he’s about to be on a date, Justin says there’s something he needs to know.

Tane follows Cash back into the house and tells Harper that he broke into Tim’s car. Cash snaps that he doesn’t need Tane’s opinion, advice or help and walks out.
