Extended Summary

Mali joins Kirby on the beach and says he’s spoken to the ad agency about starting their campaign but he’ll tell her his plans after her lesson. Kirby is distracted and tells him about Remi wanting them to restart the band. Mali awkwardly asks about Theo and Kirby confirms he was there but didn’t say much about Abigail. Mali says Abigail came home in a good mood after their drive.

Back at the farm house, Abigail shows off her outfit to Levi. He calls it nice, then, when she pushes further, changes it to beautiful and says Theo will think the same, before explaining how he heard from Mack who heard from Mali and commenting on how fast gossip travels in the town. He adds that Theo seems a nice guy but he’ll murder him if he messes up, before offering a lift since he has to check on the unit.

At Salt, Justin insists to Theo that there’s no mistake, explaining about knowing Tim before, and says he thought Theo should know after everything that happened with Valerie. Theo wonders what he’s going to say to Abigail. At the Newman house, Tane finishes a phone call cancelling work for the day. Cash comes back in and Harper asks him what would have happened if someone other than Tane had caught him breaking into the car. Cash insists it was unlocked and says he has to protect Eden but accepts it was stupid and says he won’t do it again. He stops to look at the photo of Felicity on the fridge.

At the surf club, Mali tells Kirby of his plan to have an event to coincide with the advertising campaign. Kirby thinks it’s a good idea and says she’ll arrange for the ad company to send some posters and flyers. Theo comes down and asks about what Mali said about Abigail not being in a good head space. Kirby realises he’s spoken to Justin and Theo realises Justin spoke to her, which Mali isn’t too impressed with. Abigail appears and says she thought she and Theo were meeting upstairs.

At the Diner, Leah asks Alf and Marilyn how things are going with the bait shop. Alf says Roo’s taken over and Marilyn explains that Roo’s bypassed the estate agent and gone straight to the landlord, which Alf doesn’t think will do any good. They are heading to the hospital for a check-up and pass Justin, who also asks about the bait shop and gets told to ask Leah. Justin tells Leah that Theo didn’t take it well.

Theo and Abigail are walking by the beach. Abigail realises this isn’t a good conversation and Theo asks her if she has a drug problem. Abigail falteringly says she did but she’s in recovery. She tries to lighten things up by asking about his favourite colour, before suggesting they just call it quits. Back at the surf club, Kirby tries to talk to Mali about his plans, having arranged what they’re now calling an open day gala, eventually saying that she’d have avoided Justin if she’d known what he wanted to talk about but he and Leah were frantic. Mali accepts her reasons. Abigail returns upset and lays her head on Mali’s shoulder, with him awkwardly comforting her.

Theo has met Leah and Justin at the Diner. He notes that Abigail was honest with him but isn’t sure what to do. Justin thinks it’s not the best way to be starting a relationship while Leah stresses it’s his choice. Theo worries what would happen if they got together and things got bad and says he left Lyrik to uncomplicate his life and this would complicate it again.

At the hospital, Marilyn asks Alf if he’s all right, which he points out she’s already asked. She insists on coming to his appointment. They run into Levi heading out of a lift and explain they’re there for a check-up after Alf’s specialist changed his medication. Alf quips he’ll probably be leaving in a hearse. Levi stops Marilyn to ask how Alf is and she explains about the rent increase.

Tane and Harper discuss a scan for the following week and asking Dana along. Cash appears with a bag, saying he’s heading out. Harper asks where he’s going. Cash insists everything’s fine, he just has things to do and is going to leave the new couple alone. Instead, Cash heads to the police station (in civvies) where he gets his laptop out at a desk and looks at Tim’s social media posts again, picking up on a Petra Russell on his friends list. He brings up a photo of her and Tim where she’s wearing a wedding ring.

Theo and Abigail have met up again near the beach. Theo explains that drugs were a big part of his last relationship and he went down a bad path. He says his counsellor has taught him about the need to set boundaries. Abigail says it sounds good and her counsellor obviously hasn’t got to that part yet. Theo says he doesn’t think they should do this. Abigail walks away and runs into Mali, saying Theo ditched her after half a date. Mali offers to talk but she says she’ll call Levi instead. At the hospital, Levi receives a patient from the paramedics who collapsed with a history of cardiac problems and hasn’t been taking his medication. Levi sees Abigail’s call but doesn’t take it.

Cash continues to look at Petra’s details, noticing that she’s the owner of Styled by Petra. He looks up their phone number and calls her, saying he’s a police officer from Yabbie Creek and nothing’s happened but he’s wondering about her relationship to Timothy Russell. On learning he’s her brother, he apologises and says he’s called the wrong person. Back at the house, Tane and Harper chat about how she’s hungry again. They kiss and Harper chuckles, saying she’s still getting used to it. Tane says they did everything in the wrong order but she doesn’t have to be scared. Harper says she isn’t anymore.

At the surf club, Kirby tells Mali she’s got hold of the surf club mailing list. Mali is still rather muted and confirms Abigail and Theo aren’t a thing anymore. Levi turns up and assumes that Abigail’s still on her date with Theo. Kirby asks if he’s actually heard from her. At the hospital, Abigail is looking around, lost. She asks a nurse about Levi and he says he was in Radiology.

Levi and Mali look over the farm house. Levi decides he’ll call Abigail again, then look for her if she doesn’t answer, telling Mali to stay there and wait for her. Still at the hospital, Abigail stares as the nurse and a colleague do a check on the drug trolley. She ignores Levi’s call, continuing to stare at the trolley even after it’s sealed.
