Abigail teeters on the edge. Bree gets a call. Levi runs to the rescue.

Extended Summary

Remi and Bree pull up outside the house on his motorbike. Bree thanks him for the fancy lunch but notes his money won’t last long if he keeps splashing out. He asks what else he could spend it on and she suggests buying her a motorbike of her own, although they both conclude they prefer her sitting behind him. They start kissing and decide to go indoors.

As Remi and Bree enter the house, still kissing, Eden says to pretend she’s not here and they quickly stop. Bree heads into the bedroom, leaving Remi to chat to Eden. She has decided against moving away, saying Summer Bay’s home and she’s not going to let Cash drive her away. Remi invites her to have dinner with them but she declines.

At Salt, Xander stands looking at Mackenzie until she asks him what he wants. He explains that he needs to do an internship as part of his business course, meaning he needs six weeks off…and also for Mackenzie to ask around for a placement, since he should have already organised it. Mackenzie agrees. Levi appears and asks Mackenzie if she’s seen Abigail, explaining that her date with Theo didn’t go well and he’s worried that he can’t get hold of her.

At the hospital, Abigail loiters before casually wandering over to the drugs trolley…only for Dana to appear. Abigail explains she was looking for Levi to surprise him and Dana says he works on Level 3. Before Dana can ask further questions, another nurse passes, telling her they’ve got casualties from a multiple MVA coming in. Dana leaves and Abigail moves towards the trolley again…only for another nurse to wheel it away.

At the coffee cart, Alf and Marilyn assure Roo that everything’s okay with the specialist. Roo says she spoke to the landlord but he won’t budge on the rent increases. Alf matter-of-factly says he’ll have to shut up shop since he can’t afford to stay open, before going to do work at the caravan park. Meanwhile, Remi is heading off to meet Bree and checks again with Eden that she doesn’t want to come for a drink. Levi arrives and asks if either of them have seen Abigail lately. They haven’t and Remi leaves. Levi explains to Eden about the failed date with Theo (which is news to her) and why he’s worried. Eden decides to help look.

Abigail sidles back to the drugs trolley again and tries to open it but it’s sealed. Dana suddenly appears next to her, asking if she can help. Abigail tries to slip away but Dana asks to talk. The fact other people are in the direction Abigail would have to go seems to convince her. In the office, Dana asks Abigail how she got into drugs, knowingly suggesting it seemed like a good idea at the time or fun. Abigail says she did come there to find Levi and says she was seeing a counsellor but it didn’t work out and she’s not talking to Eden at the moment. She agrees to Dana calling Levi.

On the balcony at Salt, Bree has to leave her table with Remi to take a phone call. Mackenzie appears and asks Remi if he’s seen Abigail, before they talk about his party and the fact that Lyrik might be getting back together. Bree returns and says that the person that was covering for her has been offered a job elsewhere and the hospital want her to come in for a meeting to discuss when she’s coming back to work.

At the Diner, Roo is telling Marilyn that Alf can’t give up the shop. Alf comes in for some dinner and says he’s decided to ring his customers tomorrow and tell them that he’s shutting up shop. Roo leaves, unhappy. Back at Salt, Bree talks to Remi about the meeting; she’s not sure if she’s ready to go back but can’t take leave indefinitely. Eden arrives looking for Abigail. Mackenzie approaches, having just got a text from Levi saying he’s picking up Abigail from the hospital and she’s not hurt. Eden gets a text from Levi with the same information and wishes she could be there for her.

Levi joins Dana and Abigail at the hospital. Dana gives Abigail a leaflet, saying it’s what she was talking about earlier, then leaves them to it. Abigail admits she’s not okay. Later, at the farm house, Levi apologises to Abigail for not answering her call. Abigail understands, saying he can’t answer it while with a patient or in theatre. Mackenzie says Abigail can always call her if she can’t get hold of Levi. Abigail thanks them, but says she has an appointment next week with the woman Tim organised, which she still intends to keep, and now needs some time alone to call the crisis counselling number that Dana gave her. Mackenzie notes it looks like she might be ready to stand on her own.

Next morning, Bree is getting ready for the meeting and tells Remi she’s going to ask for more leave. After she’s gone, Eden emerges from her room. She wishes she could go over to see Abigail and notes that being with Tim means she’s not part of the family anymore. Remi doesn’t want to say anything but she gives him permission. He wonders if Tim is worth it.

Xander and Dana arrive at the surf club, talking about the possibility of Mackenzie getting a placement for him. They pass Roo, who is looking for Alf. Mackenzie turns up and says she’s called a friend but hasn’t heard back. She thanks Dana for helping Abigail yesterday and invites her upstairs for a coffee. Meanwhile, Roo meets up with Alf and Marilyn at the coffee cart and tells Alf she’s done something he’s not going to like because she didn’t ask him. Alf suspects Marilyn knows all about it. Roo shows Alf an article on him she wrote in the Coastal News, headed “Fishing for the Future”.

Back at the Lyrik house, Eden notes she’s got a lot to think about with Tim, not just Abigail and Levi but Cash too. Remi confirms he didn’t like Tim at first but says he makes Eden happy and tried to make things up with Cash. He gets a text from Theo asking to meet up and hopes it’s about Lyrik. Eden decides to go and meet Tim instead of joining them.

Roo comments to Marilyn that she can’t tell whether Alf’s happy, angry or bored. She joins Alf, who says he’s glad Roo wrote the article. He comments on it saying he’s been running the bait shop for nearly twenty years and says it seems longer. However, he’s not sure what good she thinks it’s going to do. Roo says that they need to get the community to rally around it and thinks the article can help save the bait shop.
