Extended Summary

Felicity follows Mackenzie up to Salt, continuing to berate her for giving Tane somewhere to live despite Mackenzie saying it was Tane’s choice. Mackenzie tries to walk away and Felicity protests that she’s talking to her. Mackenzie replies that she’s actually screaming at her and tells Cash, who has just arrived, that Felicity is all his. They head outside as Xander checks on Mackenzie.

Felicity asks Cash if he knew Tane was going there and asks him why he didn’t stop him from leaving. Cash says neither he nor Mackenzie are taking sides. Felicity thinks she and Tane need to be left alone to talk. Despite Cash’s protests, she heads back to work. Rose appears and asks Cash if he’s all right.

Remi apologises to Bree for springing the dinner on her. Bree notes the last time she met someone’s parents was with Jacob and confirms this is different. Remi tells her it’ll be a formal event, to the point that he’ll be wearing a suit. They head back to the Lyrik house where Eden asks if they’ve seen Cash or Felicity. Remi goes to pack. Bree asks Eden about Remi’s parents. Eden says they’re loaded but used to let her stay with them when she was between houses. She says there’s more love in their family than hers, although she doesn’t respond when Bree comments that she’s never heard Eden talk about her family. Eden gets a text and heads off to meet Cash.

Cash tells Rose Felicity has some stuff going on that he doesn’t want to go into. They discuss Irene and Harper’s case being dismissed, which they are both pleased about. Rose suggests Cash could use it to get his suspension review fast-tracked. Eden arrives and Cash confirms he found Felicity. Rose leaves them to it.

At Salt, Felicity criticises Mackenzie and Xander for the fact that a table’s been kept waiting for twenty minutes. Mackenzie tells her Tane was sleeping on the floor of the gym and needs support. Felicity accuses her of loving it and loudly announces that everyone’s meals are on the house. She storms into the store room where she takes some deep breaths.

Bree and Remi draw up outside his parents’ impressive house, with Remi using a signal to open the gate. They are greeted by his parents, Graham and Nicola, who are introduced to Bree. Nicola gets a phone call from someone called Trevor. Remi explains that he’s the chef. Meanwhile, Cash and Eden are walking on the beach. Eden encourages Cash to stop waiting around for Felicity to call and concentrate on getting his suspension lifted.

Felicity has heard that Mackenzie has told people they still have to pay for their meals and insists the offer still stands. Xander asks if they have to pay or not and gets different answers, saying to let him know when they work it out. Mackenzie asks why Felicity is sabotaging her own business but Felicity refuses to discuss it until Mackenzie has convinced Tane to move home. Rose appears and checks she and Xander are still having lunch: He’s glad of the break. Later, Mackenzie tries to convince Felicity she’s not in the right mind to work there and suggests she take time off. Felicity agrees and proceeds to take money from the till, saying she needs it to pay for the hotel. Xander and Rose look on in disbelief.

Bree finds a photo of Remi as a boy with a guitar. He steers her out to the veranda where Graham and Nicola are waiting. They tell her it’s their 35th anniversary, which Nicola thinks is emerald, and recount how they first met at a music rehearsal. Nicola takes Bree on a tour of the house. Graham tells Remi he’s proud of him for choosing what he wanted and sticking at it. Later, Remi and Bree are in their bedroom. Bree says Remi’s suit is hanging up but she has first dibs on the shower. Remi wonders what he did to deserve her and she jokes it must have been the guitar.

Mackenzie tells Xander and Rose that, since Felicity is co-owner, it’s not technically theft and is worried about her. Despite Mackenzie and Rose telling him he can’t always step in, Xander says he’ll take over Felicity’s shifts and also convinces Mackenzie to go home. Back at the Parata house, Cash tells Eden he’s submitted his request. Felicity arrives home and says she’s going to a hotel in the city to spend a few days alone, turning down Eden’s offer to go with her. She hurriedly packs a bag, then notices Tane’s wedding ring. She tells Cash and Eden there’s something she needs to do before she leaves.

Felicity heads to the gym but, although people are working and training there, Tane is absent. She sends a text, then heads to the farm house. She apologises to Mackenzie and says she’ll return the money and she’s going away for a while. Mackenzie doesn’t know where Tane is. Felicity gives her the ring and says to give it to Tane, noting he needs to remember he’s still her husband.

Nicola tours the house, supervising catering staff and musicians, and meets up with Graham. Remi and Bree arrive in their finest and Nicola and Graham ask how they first got together. Bree halteringly tells them she was with her husband, Jacob, and he died, surprised Remi hasn’t told them this. Remi says it’s a conversation for another time.

Later, Bree is stood outside the house. Remi joins her and Bree wonders why he didn’t tell his parents. Remi says he wasn’t sure she’d want them to know. Bree says she’s done a lot of work to deal with what happened and doesn’t think Remi understands that.
