Roo turns the tables on Marilyn. Cash receives big news. Felicity is floored by Tane’s truth.

Extended Summary

Tane is leading a self-defence class on the beach. Eden turns up late and partners with Felicity, explaining about Kirby dropping the invite round and how it was awkward. She makes a couple of feeble punches before asking if Felicity’s heard from Cash. Tane asks if they’re paying attention just before Eden gets a text from Cash saying he’s back and dashes off, leaving Tane to partner Felicity.

Back at the Parata house, Eden offers to make Cash something to eat but admits it would have to be two minute noodles or a sandwich. She says he was interrogated for two days. Cash says it was a meeting and he needed to give the anti-corruption commission all the information. He says he can’t give her the details, then says he missed her and they kiss passionately.

Leah is aghast that Roo lied to Marilyn, saying she couldn’t understand why she resented her but at least she was being honest. Roo thinks Alf and Martha need time together. Leah asks what she’s supposed to tell Marilyn. Roo doesn’t care, so long as she doesn’t say anything to Alf. At the Diner, Marilyn chats to Alf, who says Martha doesn’t know he’s coming: He’s going to drive down and surprise her. He also is closing the caravan park while he’s gone, since Marilyn will be busy looking after Roo. Justin comes in and offers his help but Marilyn says she can handle everything.

Kirby apologises for using Theo as a shoulder to cry on but he says they’re still friends. He admits Remi and Eden aren’t keen on going to the launch and suggests she focus on the people who are going. He suggests they go out for a drink and she gives him a sneak preview of her new song. Kirby agrees, so long as she gets to stop off somewhere first.

Cash and Eden are in bed together with her debating whether it’s worth him going away to come back to this. Cash hopes that the charges against Harper’s sister will be dropped. Eden isn’t happy to learn that what he was mixed up with involved Harper and ends up getting up and dressing.

Theo and Kirby pop by the Diner so Kirby can deliver an invite to Marilyn about the launch. Justin notes he and Leah are going as well. Leah comes back at that point and keeps quiet when Marilyn talks about making up with Roo. Marilyn says she does need the time off to help with Roo after all but Leah says she’s already rejigged the rosters. Alf and Marilyn head off to the hospital.

At the surf club, Tane is steering Felicity downstairs, saying he wants them to have dinner together. They run into Theo and Kirby coming the other way and chat briefly. Kirby tells Theo he doesn’t have to do this. Theo jokes that he’s now a struggling student while she’s a superstar, so he needs her to pay.

Back at the Parata house, Cash reminds Eden that he can’t always tell her everything but, when pushed, tells her about Dana being set up by Madden. Tane and Felicity arrive home and Felicity expresses surprise on them being out of the bedroom before telling Tane it’ll have to be dinner for four. Tane doesn’t look entirely happy. At the hospital, Marilyn gives Roo her favourite juice. Alf says to give him a call if they need him back while he’s away but Roo insists everything will be fine. She teases him about lying to Martha about not coming. Alf takes a photo of the two of them to show to Martha.

At the coffee cart, Leah has filled Justin in on what’s happening. Justin is sympathetic about her position but doesn’t think she can do anything. He also sympathises with Roo’s point of view, saying Marilyn makes bad choices::Leah was taken hostage because she wasn’t honest about her daughter and now Roo’s nearly died. Back at the hospital, Roo checks that Alf has gone, then tells Marilyn she doesn’t want her around: She lied, and also wants Marilyn to move out when she goes home.

Eden comments on the fact that Felicity is married, running a business and has a mortgage, joking that she’ll go into politics next. Felicity says she’ll still dance on bars. Cash asks Tane about the land and notes, on paper, Felicity’s more grown-up than him. Tane agrees she’s changed and Felicity says she wouldn’t have if not for him. On the balcony at Salt, Theo looks over the lyrics for Open Door and tells Kirby he loves it. Kirby says she’s hoping it’ll be an anthem for young women, before thinking that’s going too far. Theo says she’ll have his download and Remi and Eden will love it eventually.

At the Diner, Marilyn is telling Leah and Justin what happened and agrees not to call Alf. She tells them about Roo wanting her to move out. Leah says she can stay with them, which Justin doesn’t look too pleased about. Meanwhile, Eden and Felicity are sat outside the house, with Eden noting Cash has been stressed with work. Cash delivers them some beers then goes to talk to Tane, sensing there’s something on his mind. Tane eventually explains he’s thinking of asking Felicity about starting a family.

Next morning, Felicity is serving the others at Salt. Eden tries to convince Cash to call in sick at work. Felicity says she has to start her shift but Tane convinces her to leave it to her staff and come for a walk on the beach. Cash tries to feign ignorance but Eden gets him to tell her what it’s about. He gets a text and tells her he’s got the day off after all: He’s been suspended pending a review into misconduct.

Down on the beach, Felicity is confused by Tane’s behaviour. He eventually asks her if she pictured herself standing here five years ago, before asking her if things are different and she’d think about trying for a baby.
