Extended Summary

Harper and Dana approach the coffee cart. Dana is glad to be out of the house, although Harper keeps telling her to keep it easy despite her getting the all-clear from the doctor. They greet Irene, who asks about their swim. Dana is worried that she still hasn’t heard anything about her arrest warrant. Harper assures her that Cash will let them know.

Cash is exiting the surf club with Eden following him. Eden asks what happens now and Cash says he goes home and takes his uniform off. Eden wants him to call his sergeant but Cash says it will make no difference. They see Tane following a rather determined-looking Felicity up from the beach and decide to make themselves scarce. Tane tries to get Felicity to talk to him but she says she has to get to work.

Harper and Dana arrive at Salt, which Dana notes is actually quite nice. Harper leaves Dana at a booth and goes to talk to Felicity, saying Cash told her she went through with the restorative justice. Felicity thanks her for her advice and says it makes things clearer. Harper brings her to the table and introduces her to Dana, who claims she came to the Bay because Harper was raving about it. Harper asks when Cash is back from the city and Felicity says he came back yesterday. Dana asks if she should worry now.

At the Parata house, Cash has changed out of his uniform. Eden asks if he can appeal the decision. Cash points out there hasn’t been a decision yet. He admits he might get a lengthy suspension or lose his job. Tane comes home and admits things didn’t go as he was hoping with Felicity, before going out the back. Cash decides to go and talk to him while Eden goes to talk to Felicity.

Dana continues to worry but Harper tells her to have something to eat and they’ll call Cash afterwards. They are interrupted by Felicity dropping a plate. Meanwhile, Tane tells Cash he didn’t mean to blindside or pressure Felicity. Cash points out the fact Felicity knows Tane wants kids is pressure. Tane says Felicity didn’t even answer him and he’ll understand if she says no. Cash advises him to wait to hear from her.

Harper and Dana come downstairs from Salt, with Dana thanking Harper for keeping her calm. They run into Eden, who rather sharply tells them that Cash has been suspended and might lose his job, pointedly asking whose fault that is. She continues up to see Felicity, who says she hasn’t dropped a plate in ten minutes. Eden unloads to her about the fact Cash has been suspended because Harper got him to look into Dana’s case and clear her name. She then admits that she’s really there to check how Felicity is after her conversation with Tane. Felicity asks what Eden knows about that, prompting an awkward silence from both of them.

Felicity finds Cash in the garden and asks why he didn’t tell her about everything that was going on with Harper and Dana. Cash says it was police business and asks her about Tane. Felicity says he could have given her a heads-up about that. Cash says Tane just needed someone to talk to. Both of them would rather discuss the other’s problem than their own.

At the Diner, Harper and Dana have filled Irene in on what’s happened to Cash. They decide they’re better off not calling him at this point. Harper and Dana both blame themselves, Harper for involving Cash and Dana for getting involved with a dropkick. Irene tells them not to worry about it, but once she’s out of sight, she looks panicked.

Tane is setting up a class on the beach when Eden joins him and tells him she was just checking how he is and hasn’t really spoken to Felicity. She tells him his timing wasn’t great, given what’s just happened. Tane says Felicity doesn’t want the assault to define her but Eden suggests he wait a while before asking her again. She leaves him to his class. Back at the Parata house, Felicity tells Cash she doesn’t like having to hurt Tane over and over again by saying no to children. Cash says Tane has a right to ask her and tells her to be honest with him.

Felicity finds Tane on the beach and apologises for walking out on him. Tane says it was the wrong time to bring it up and they’ll leave it for another time. Felicity says it wasn’t down to the timing: She’s not going to change her mind about this. She mentions how hard her childhood was and how she doesn’t want to bring a child into a world where there are horrible things.

Cash is sat by the pool with his legs in the water, throwing stones. Eden joins him and they compare notes on Tane and Felicity. Eden asks if Cash has talked to his sergeant or a lawyer. She thinks Harper took advantage of him but Cash encourages her to get to know Harper and Dana. Eden admits she ran into them before.

Irene brings Harper and Dana some food they didn’t order, having guessed they haven’t eaten today. Dana worries what will happen to Harper and Irene if the police are coming down hard on Cash. Harper gets a text from Cash asking to see them. They head round to the Parata house. Cash apologises for Eden taking it out on them but Harper can understand why she’s worried. Harper gets a phone call from the police for Dana, as Eden comes in. After talking to them, Dana reveals that Olly’s in custody and her arrest warrant has been rescinded. Cash and Harper are pleased but Eden makes it clear she blames Harper for Cash’s problems. Dana tries to defend her until Cash snaps that Dana should move on, Eden should drop the attitude and he doesn’t regret putting Madden behind bars, even if he loses his job.

Tane is propping up the bar in Salt, looking morose. Felicity comes round to join him and tries to gee him up. Tane tells her there’s a lot of good in the world as well and suggests she’s making a decision based on fear. Meanwhile, Eden finds Cash outside the Parata house and tells him Harper and Dana have gone. Cash apologises for snapping at her and Eden says she shouldn’t have gone on. Cash admits he has no idea what he’ll do if he loses his job.
