Extended Summary

Having just finished a surf, Mackenzie checks her phone as Dean and Ziggy approach. She shares Felicity’s update that Cash is out of surgery. Dean wonders if he can do anything to help and asks for Felicity’s number. Justin approaches and asks Ziggy if she’s seen Theo, admitting he doesn’t know if he’s doing his assignment or not.

Back at the Parata house, Theo and Kirby discuss their kiss, saying it was unexpected but they didn’t hate it. Before they can talk further, Eden and Remi turn up, explaining they checked out a bar in Yabbie Creek and have also picked up the keys to the new place. Theo notes they’re officially locals now. Eden wants to tell Felicity and Kirby has to tell her about Cash.

Dean has a phone conversation with Felicity and tells Mackenzie that Nikau and Tane are still in custody. Mackenzie wonders how they got involved with bikies and if they have financial troubles. Dean asks how she’s covering Felicity at Salt and Felicity says she’s trying to find someone. Nearby, Ziggy gently chides Justin for telling her things were fine with Theo. She decides to call him.

Eden is shattered by the news about Cash and Kirby tries to reassure her. Theo answers a call from Ziggy at the second attempt and agrees to meet her, telling the others. Remi wonders what he was doing there in the first place. Theo and Kirby look rather awkward, eventually saying they were working on a song together.

Roo replaces her flyer at the Diner with a more colourful one, telling Marilyn she didn’t get any calls from the first one. She goes to the gym, commenting on her free time. Theo arrives to a mixed reception from Leah, Justin and Ziggy. He admits he hasn’t done his assignment but says he hasn’t had any sleep and needs to go home to rest. Leah agrees but Ziggy insists he’s getting the assignment done.

Theo and Ziggy have moved to the farm house but Theo is distracted and talks about kissing Kirby, explaining he broke up with Chloe because she’s staying in New Zealand. Ziggy wonders if it’s the best time to be starting something and Theo admits he doesn’t know how he feels. Ziggy offers herself as someone to talk to,

Eden, Kirby and Remi move their stuff across the road. Remi stops to examine a wind chime outside and says it’s got to go. The three of them head inside, noting they can move the furniture to make a rehearsal space. Eden tries to bag the best room but Kirby insists they pick guitar picks out of a hat, although Remi always wins that. Eden notes Theo’s working out and asks Kirby how they ended up working on the song together. Kirby, probably thinking about more than the song, says it happened out of the blue and took her by surprise.

Dean finds Mackenzie on the balcony at Salt and guesses no-one was free to cover for Felicity, since there’s a line at the bar. Mackenzie remembers what it’s like to be by your brother’s bedside. She goes to serve the customers while Dean collects a glass. At the Diner, Roo notices someone’s taken her number. Leah and Marilyn encourage her with Justin calling them her personal cheer squad. Leah tells Justin she’s worried Theo’s spreading himself too thin.

Theo tells Ziggy that Kirby was there for him when he broke up with Chloe: She encouraged him to put his feelings into music and convinced him he could do both the band and his apprenticeship. Ziggy asks if he wants to be more than friends with her and Theo admits that he likes her but they both just got out of break-ups. Ziggy encourages him to go and talk to her.

Kirby gets a text from Theo asking to talk. Remi has moved his stuff into the big room. Kirby announces she’s going out to do a shop. Eden thinks Remi should go and Remi offers to go with her to make sure she gets beer but Kirby insists on going on her own.

Theo and Kirby meet on the beach and he says Ziggy’s let him off the hook for a bit. They admit neither of them can stop thinking about what happened. They discuss that the band has to come first, it could get messy and they’re both out of relationships, with Kirby joking she has a thing for lead singers…then they admit they like each other. Remi comes past and sees them kissing: He is aghast.

Eden leaves a message for Felicity saying she’s there for her if she needs her. Remi arrives back and tells Eden he didn’t get the beer, explaining about seeing Kirby and Theo kissing. They worry that it’s going to be Bob all over again and decide that they need to put a stop to it. At the Diner, Leah asks Roo if she’s heard from the person who took her number and Roo says she hasn’t. Unnoticed by either of them, Marilyn takes a number from the flyer. Moments later, Roo notices it’s gone and Leah suggests it’s a sign.

Kirby welcomes Theo to the house as their first visitor. Eden and Remi corner them and announce some ground rules: First one, no hook-ups with other band members. Kirby realises they know and says it only happened today. Remi says they don’t need Bob 2.0. Kirby protests Theo’s nothing like Bob and Eden retorts that Bob was nothing like Bob when they got together. Kirby and Theo agree but don’t look happy. Theo asks what the second rule is and Remi says nobody touches his guitar without permission. Theo leaves to do his assignment.

Ziggy tells Dean she gave Theo the rest of the day off and feels vindicated when she gets a text from him saying he’s gone to do his assignment. Nearby, Remi tries to assure Eden that Theo and Kirby will be fine. Kirby says they need to get a new van so they don’t have to keep renting one and mentions she’s thinking of taking shifts at Salt to earn more money. Remi, looking at Ziggy, says he can get the local mechanic to help him with the van search.

Eden heads up to Salt where Mackenzie initially thinks she’s there to talk band stuff and says she’s busy at the moment. Eden offers to cover Felicity’s shifts while she’s at the hospital. She admits to not having any experience but says she picks things up quickly and has spent a lot of time in bars.

Dean suggests he and Ziggy go up to Salt for drink. Remi comes over and says he needs a favour. Dean tries to send him away. Ziggy tells Dean she’ll meet him upstairs then tells Remi to stop the flirting game. Remi says he actually does need a favour but can ask someone else. He goes to leave but Ziggy calls him back.
