Extended Summary

Remi explains to Ziggy about the band losing their van and needing to get a replacement so they don’t have to keep renting. He says he thought the local mechanic would be a good person to help out and promises to stop annoying Dean if she does. Ziggy agrees. On the balcony at Salt, Eden and Mackenzie discuss Felicity. Mackenzie says Eden’s a good friend for helping her out. Eden awkwardly says she’s not volunteering to work for free and Mackenzie offers to give her some extra shifts if she works out. Eden agrees but says the band comes first. She adds that she can start today and Mackenzie says she’ll get her a uniform.

Justin hands the games console controllers to Leah, saying to hide them: Theo has said to remove any distractions from the house, including Justin himself. John is preparing a hamper for the new neighbours, saying it’s important to get off on the right foot: He also wants to present them with a Neighbourhood Watch leaflet. Justin starts to tell him what Theo said about the new neighbours but Marilyn interrupts, saying they’re lovely people. John leaves and Leah notes Marilyn has a dark streak.

At the band’s house, Eden shows off her uniform to Remi. Remi tells her about Ziggy agreeing to help and thinks they can scrape together $2000 from the earnings from the last gig and their savings. John turns up and is shocked to be greeted by Eden, who says it’s nice of him to welcome them to the neighbourhood. She leaves him and Remi to their “play date”. The two men look at each other awkwardly before John offers Remi a muffin.

At Salt, Dean asks Mackenzie if she’s had a break. Mackenzie tells him about Eden offering to help out. Eden arrives and Mackenzie puts her to work. Dean sits with Ziggy and grouses about her helping out Remi. Ziggy says she’s already found something that’s perfect. At the Diner, Roo notes another one of her numbers has been taken and wonders why no-one has called. Marilyn says anyone that looks at it will see she’s in demand. Irene arrives as Roo leaves and talks to Leah, Marilyn and Justin about how Felicity won’t leave Cash’s side. They offer to cover her shifts but Irene wants to keep busy.

John makes small talk to Remi about the Diner’s produce before recalling how the Braxtons used to live in the house and how there were rumours they hid guns there and there’s a bullet lodged in one of the walls. He pulls out the Neighbourhood Watch leaflet and suggests looking out for each other would stop someone stealing Remi’s guitar. Remi said if they tried he’d go looking for those guns. He gets a text from Ziggy and rushes off, telling John to let himself out.

Remi meets Ziggy by the beach and she shows him the van advertisement she’s found. He wonders if he can still flirt with her when Dean isn’t around and Ziggy threatens to punch him. Remi sees that the van’s $10,000 and says he was hoping for one for free, or at most $3000. Ziggy protests that that’s impossible and doesn’t consider being in his good books a big enough incentive.

Later, at the farm house, Ziggy and Dean have finished eating. She gets an alert for a cheap van but tells him it’s from Theo about his assignment and volunteers to do the dishes while Dean has a shower. At Salt, Remi is amused to see Eden working. He gets a text from Ziggy about the van. Although it’s within their budget, Remi realises it only has three seats and they can’t risk having Theo and Kirby travelling to gigs in a car together. He tries to get a free pizza out of Eden’s new job. Back at the farm, Dean suggests Ziggy watch TV with him but Theo has just sent her his assignment so she says she needs to read it and get some feedback. She gets a text from Remi about the new specifications.

At the Diner, John is greeted by a large amused delegation after his visit to his new neighbours. Justin says their music is good and John tries to suggest a house swap. Irene asks John to walk her out: She has some cake for Felicity. Leah and Justin also leave. Alf notices Roo checking her phone and realises she’s disappointed about the lack of takers. She goes for a walk. Alf offers to walk Marilyn home but she declines. After he’s gone, she goes to take another number but Alf catches her when he comes back for his hat. He realises she took all the numbers and asks how she thinks Roo’s going to feel when no-one calls. Marilyn admits she didn’t think it through. Alf says she needs to tell Roo and she agrees to do it tomorrow.

Mackenzie shows the last customers out of Salt and offers Eden a drink. She asks Eden what her story is and is shocked when Eden says she grew up in a funeral home and her family expect her to take over the business. She says it’s inspired her to go hard at life and notes music chose her rather than the other way round. Mackenzie envies her passion but Eden thinks Mackenzie has a lot to be proud of at Salt.

Mackenzie goes home and is surprised to find Ziggy sitting up. Ziggy admits she’s looking for a van for Remi and the band. Mackenzie is shocked that she’s keeping it from Dean. Ziggy notes that Remi’s promised not to give Dean a hard time, so really she’s doing it for him. Mackenzie agrees not to tell Dean and encourages Ziggy to get some rest. Ziggy starts to close the laptop but then opens it again once Mackenzie’s gone.

Eden arrives home and finds Remi rearranging the furniture. He says Kirby crashed early and isn’t sure if he believes all John’s stories but is starting to like him. Eden gets him to give her a foot massage and says she’s looking forward to her first night in the new house. Next morning, Dean tells Ziggy that he’s got the morning off to spend with her. Ziggy looks a bit rabbit-in-headlights and says she has a customer to meet as a favour for Justin. Mackenzie pointedly says it must be an important customer. Ziggy leaves.

Ziggy meets Remi near the beach and tells him she’s found him a van but it’s two hours away. She tells him to take a test drive and check the log book. Remi admits he isn’t sure how to get there so Ziggy tells him to borrow her car. Mackenzie approaches Ziggy who tries to argue that Remi’s a kind of customer and says it’ll all be over soon. Remi is in Ziggy’s car and prepares to pull out. Ziggy tells him to shove over: He clearly has no idea what he’s looking for so she’s going with him. They drive off.
