Extended Summary

Jasmine runs into Xander at the hospital and comments on not having seen him in a while. He says he meant to call and hasn’t heard from Millie. Logan comes over and Xander makes a quick exit. Jasmine passes his behaviour off as a busy night. At the Morgan house, Theo chides Leah for her questioning of Chloe. Justin agrees but shares Leah’s surprise when Theo says they’ve only been on one date. Chloe comes back in and declines Leah’s offer of dessert, also refusing Theo’s offer to walk her home. Theo isn’t happy with Leah.

At the Diner, Roo apologises to Alf and Marilyn for her behaviour and says it feels like she’s abandoned Martha. Marilyn tries to assure her Martha will be home soon. Roo says she’s feeling tired and they decide to go home. At the Morgan house, Leah and Justin are getting ready for bed. Leah realises she overstepped with Chloe. She worries about Theo being derailed and that Chloe isn’t in the right headspace. Justin says she can’t make that call at the first dinner. Leah worries she’s ruined things for him. Justin says to come to bed and deal with it in the morning.

Jasmine enters Logan’s office with some papers and see he has a bed made up on the couch there. She asks why he isn’t sleeping at home and he says it’s easier to nap between shifts. She insists he comes for dinner with her and they head to the Diner where she orders two hot chocolates with extra marshmallows. She notes it must have been a pretty big fight for him not to sleep on his own couch. He admits that he and Mackenzie broke up. Jasmine insists he come home with her for the night.

Next morning, Alf meets up with Marilyn near the coffee cart, having been fishing. Marilyn says Roo was still asleep when she left. Alf heads off to go and see Martha. Jasmine and Xander walk past and see Logan sitting. Jasmine insists on going over. Logan says he had to go to the police station and has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death. At the Morgan house, Leah is trying to make Theo breakfast to improve his mood. He comes through, complaining Chloe isn’t answering his texts. Justin suggests it’s early and Leah says she had the early shift at work. Theo says she’ll still have her phone and accuses Leah of ruining everything.

Xander meets with Millie at the surf club and tells her about Logan being charged, encouraging her to tell the truth. Millie again threatens to charge him with harassment. She says they won’t send a doctor and veteran to jail but will make an example of a 22-year-old using her phone while driving. She also mentions Jasmine talking to her. Roo, observing the conversation, asks if something’s wrong and Millie says Xander won’t leave her alone. Roo says it sounds like she meant it. At the Diner, Jasmine asks Logan if there’s anything he can do. Logan says he’s spoken to his lawyer and he just has to wait for the punishment. Jasmine texts Xander.

Xander continues to follow Millie, who warns him she has a witness now and says he’ll ruin both their lives. Xander tries to say she’s not a bad person. Millie threatens to arrange the AVO, saying she’s a lawyer and knows how the system works. At the Diner, Marilyn asks Chloe how the family dinner went. Chloe says it was a disaster: Leah was intense and asked her questions she didn’t know how to answer. She notes the last family meal she went to was Ryder’s equally disastrous 21st. Leah appears and asks if they can talk.

Leah and Chloe go for a walk together and Leah apologises, saying she just wants to see Theo happy. Chloe apologises for bailing on dessert and says she and Theo are still figuring things out. Leah says Theo really likes her, so if she’s not serious she should let him know. At the Stewart house, Alf finds Roo staring at uneaten food. Roo admits she can’t relax and notes she’s spent weeks running on adrenaline and now she just feels lost. Alf says thanks to her, both she and Martha have a future now.

Theo finds Chloe on the beach after a surf. Chloe says Leah let her go home early and she apologised. Theo asks if Chloe’s going to dump him. Chloe asks if that’s what he wants and he says he thinks she’s amazing. They admit they like hanging out with each other and Theo asks if she wants to be his girlfriend. Chloe nods and they kiss. A short time later, Leah and Justin arrive back at the Morgan house. Justin warns Leah to stay out of it. Theo comes in, dressed in his underwear, and asks why they’re home in the middle of the day. Leah asks if Chloe’s there and Theo says she’s his girlfriend. Leah is pleased, saying it’s all down to her, as Justin drags her out, not wanting to hear something he can’t unhear.

Down on the beach, Jasmine tells Logan she’s worried about him. He says he’ll get a court date and plead guilty, and heads off when he gets a call from his lawyer. Xander comes over and has a go at Jasmine for talking to Millie. He says she’ll ruin both their lives. Jasmine says they’ll ruin Logan’s. She calls Millie a bully and encourages Xander to talk to the police. He goes to the police station and tells an officer he needs to make a statement about the accident that caused the death of Josie Harding.

Logan turns up at the surf club, drunk and calling out for Mackenzie. Alf steps in and Logan insists he just wants a conversation. Alf escorts him outside where they run into Mackenzie and Emmett. Logan says it didn’t take her long. Jasmine also appears and helps Alf lead him away. At the police station, Xander looks anxious and nearly walks out but stops himself. Cash and Rose appear and Xander says he has new information about the accident.
