Extended Summary

Jasmine comes across the crime scene team on the beach. Cash says they found a body in the sand dunes and claims they don’t know who it is. He goes over to Rose who says it looks like PK was in a fight but they’ll have to wait for the coroner’s report. Xander joins Jasmine, who tells him Rose could be a while. She apologises if he felt she didn’t have his back and asks how it went with Millie. He claims it’s fine. At the Parata house, Logan is checking Tane over. Felicity says he was in pain last night but Logan says he’s out of the woods. Felicity asks if they’re losing their live-in doctor and Logan says he’ll stay another night. Felicity asks what they can do to repay him; he jokingly asks for their firstborn. Tane offers beer and Felicity gets them for herself and Logan but not Tane. She asks Logan if he’s avoiding Mackenzie, who she herself blames for what happens. Tane says they’ve all made mistakes. Logan says some are harder to come back from than others.

Mackenzie and Logan run into each other by the coffee cart. She asks after Tane and if Logan’s coming home soon. Logan says he’s going there to pick up some clothes and she reluctantly lets him go on. She meets up with Dean by the surf club and wonders if he knows what’s going on down the beach; Dean has heard they found a dead body. Mackenzie says she doesn’t know what Logan’s thinking since he won’t talk to her and is also worried about PK and his mates showing up. Dean promises that’s not going to happen.

Rose gets off the phone at the police station and tells Cash that Homicide are happy for them to do the legwork. She says the coroner says death was in the last two or three days. The body must have been dumped but there’s no CCTV there. They discuss PK lending money and note they know two associates of his: Nathan and Felicity. At the Parata house, Logan and Felicity comment on Tane getting his appetite back. Logan answers the door to Cash and Rose and, after saying he’s there for social reasons and confirming Felicity’s there, invites them in, to Tane’s displeasure. They explain that PK’s dead.

At Salt, Mackenzie notes Xander looks like he’s had a tough day and shares a drink with him. Dean comes in to collect pizzas for himself and Ziggy. Mackenzie says she hasn’t spoken to Logan and is worried this isn’t his world. Dean says it wasn’t hers until recently. Mackenzie says she doesn’t want to lose him. At the Parata house, Rose asks Felicity when she last saw PK. Cash assures her she’s not a suspect. Rose asks about Mackenzie owing him money. Felicity says he paid off part of her debts and Nathan introduced them but refuses to say more. Tane hides his pain. After Cash and Rose have gone, Logan asks who PK is and Felicity says he tried to get Mackenzie into bed.

Next morning, Dean and Jasmine run into each other on the beach and briefly discuss the lack of information about the body. Jasmine sees Xander running nearby and asks why he’s pushing himself so hard. He says he only wanted to help “her”. They retire to Salt where Jasmine guesses he was talking about Millie. Xander tells her about Millie swerving when she looked at her phone but she won’t go to the police and is threatening him over something from his past. He says he fell for a woman who he thought he was saving from an abusive ex but she was just trying to make her ex jealous: When they got back together, she accused him of harassment and took out an AVO. Jasmine tries to get him to go to the police but he says no-one believed him last time.

Cash and Rose are interviewing Nathan at the police station. He says he knew PK years and only saw him a couple of days ago. Rose asks about PK paying off his debt. Nathan says PK liked to be the boss and had enemies because he didn’t like people crossing him. Rose comments on how he benefits from PK being dead while Cash asks abou PK’s enemies. Nathan suggests Mackenzie and Dean, saying PK had an argument with Dean last time he saw him. At the Parata house, Logan gives Tane a script for antibiotics. Mackenzie turns up and says Tane looks better. Felicity snipes that he’s not bleeding to death now. Mackenzie asks to talk to Logan, so Tane steers Felicity outside. Mackenzie asks him to come home. Logan says he knows about her nearly sleeping with PK. Mackenzie says she didn’t do it because she loves him but Logan is unimpressed, saying all she needed to do was come to him for help. She says she didn’t want him to look at her the way he is now. Logan tells her that PK’s dead and refuses to come home, saying they’re done.

Jasmine meets Millie at the Diner and says she wants to talk to her about what she’s doing to Logan and Xander, who she explains is her brother. She says letting someone else take the blame won’t bring Jo back and this is her last chance to do the right thing, Millie tries to leave and Jasmine asks if she wants to add another lie to her conscience. Meanwhile, Nathan drives to a remote spot and retrieves a large metal tool from the bushes, wiping it with a cloth. Soon after, he is watching Dean from his parked car. Mackenzie approaches Dean and tells him about PK being dead, asking if that’s what he meant about sorting him. Dean assures her it’s not but suggests it’s a good thing. Mackenzie says about Logan dumping her and notes he deserves better than her.

Logan is packing his bag as Tane and Felicity come back in. He tells them he’s broken up with Mackenzie. Tane says Logan saved his life and thanks him. Logan says he’s welcome. After he’s gone, Felicity admits she’s worried about PK and also that if the police keep digging they’ll find out about the poker nights. Outside the surf club, Mackenzie takes her leave of Dean, heading up to Salt. Cash and Rose approach Dean and say they need to ask him some questions about a death.
