Extended Summary

Bella and Nikau are working on his application. Bella asks if they need to e-mail it and Nikau explains he needs to drop it off with John. He marvels at the idea of being paid to do something you love. Ziggy comes in and Nikau asks if they were keeping her up. Ziggy says she was reading in bed. She asks if they know where Dean is. Bella and Nikau go off to bed while Ziggy texts him. Dean is still at Salt, helping Tane, who thinks he can just get up but doesn’t manage it. Felicity says to call an ambulance and Mackenzie goes to do so but Dean says they can’t, since the police will get involved and find out about PK and the illegal gambling. Felicity wants to call them anyway but Mackenzie and Tane agree with Dean. Dean quietly tells Mackenzie to call Logan.

Logan is relaxing on the sofa when he gets Mackenzie’s phone call and quickly realises something is wrong. At the police station, Rose complains to Cash about how boring it is. Cash says she’s been hanging out with Felicity too long. Rose looks up Felicity on the police database and finds a result concerning her and Anne being accused of stalking someone. Cash sees her looking intent and realises what she’s doing. He takes her into the office for a private chat.

Bella finds Ziggy still up and asks if she’s waiting up for Dean. Ziggy tries to deny it but is worried that he didn’t tell her he was going to be late. Bella suggests calling him. At the surf club, Dean searches the office for a first aid box. He answers the call from Ziggy but just tells her that he’s helping Mackenzie with something. He lets Logan in, after Mackenzie told him to bring his gear.

Felicity is struggling to control Tane’s bleeding as Logan comes up and Mackenzie explains. Dean says it happened a few minutes before they called him. Logan asks how long the ambulance will be and is horrified to realise they haven’t called for one. Mackenzie tells him they can’t and asks him to trust them. At the police station, Rose has filled Cash in on what she learned about Nathan and PK, but she can’t find any references to PK. She worries that Felicity has debts and borrowed money from him.

Logan is trying to find the source of the bleed and notes Tane’s going into shock. He says they need to keep him warm and also worries that his organs could shut down if he loses too much blood. Felicity answers a call from Cash without thinking and tries to get rid of him. Logan insists Tane needs surgery, which would require IV antibiotics. Mackenzie and Felicity insist Logan needs to stay. Dean says to write down a list and he’ll get it. Downstairs, Cash and Rose arrive and run into Dean and Felicity as they’re leaving. Dean tells Felicity to sort it out while he goes. Cash asks Felicity about Nathan and PK. Felicity denies owing money and tells them that Mackenzie does.

Mackenzie tells Logan about the money she owes and the illegal poker nights. Felicity comes back up and tells them about Cash showing up and how Dean’s gone on his own. Dean turns up at the hospital with Ziggy who pretends to be in pain. Dean leaves her with a nurse while he sneaks into a store room to get the stuff, managing to hide when a nurse comes in unexpectedly.

Felicity is still trying to reassure Tane as Logan says he’ll call an ambulance in ten minutes. Dean and Ziggy arrive and Logan tells Dean to get washed up to help him. Mackenzie and Ziggy take refuge on the sidelines. Meanwhile, Cash and Rose arrive back at the police station. Rose complains about the amount of unanswered questions they have. She asks Cash if he buys Felicity’s story. Cash insists he’s going to trust her.

Next morning, Bella and Nikau are outside the surf club with Bella convincing him to deliver the application and relax. They run into Ziggy, who has blood on her clothes. She takes them up to Salt to talk. (There is a mop and bucket there.) She tells them Tane’s going to be okay but he was stabbed and Logan patched him up. Nikau says he’ll go to the hospital and Ziggy says he was taken back to theirs.

Logan, Dean, Felicity and Mackenzie bring Tane to the house and help him into his room. Logan sets up a drip with help from Dean and Mackenzie. When Mackenzie comments on them not being spotted, Felicity loses her temper, saying she warned Mackenzie not to trust PK and this is her fault. Mackenzie retreats into the corridor, upset. Dean follows and tries to tell her that Felicity was just scared but Mackenzie feels guilty. Nikau arrives and goes through to see Tane. Nikau notes his hand is cold, while Tane wonders where Ari is, calling out for him before passing out. Logan says he’s lost too much blood and this could all be for nothing.
