Extended Summary
Cash and Jasmine watch from the Salt balcony as Darren walks away from the surf club. Cash is berating himself over the fact he just lied to a federal detective. He considers going after Darren and telling him the truth but Jasmine stops him, tellling him not to do something he’ll regret. Cash says he already has and goes for a walk. Meanwhile, Felicity chases Anne to her car, saying she hurt loads of people. Anne says that wasn’t meant to happen but isn’t bothered about the fact Tane nearly died, saying she thought Felicity would be pleased. Felicity asks why she’s framing her. Anne is amused that she doesn’t know, slamming the car door shut forcefully. Felicity gets her phone out but Anne doesn’t think she can phone the police or Cash, since she’s told him to get lost.
Ari and Tane are preparing to leave the hospital. Ari calls Tane a walking miracle but Tane feels bad about getting to walk out of there when Marilyn and Martha don’t, given he was the one targeted. Ari says he was a victim. At the Parata house, Bella is setting up a bed on the couch and complains about the lack of help from Nikau, who is glued to the thread on his phone. Ari and Tane turn up and Bella, Nikau and Mia all welcome Tane back. They settle him on the couch, saying Chloe’s given him his room back and they’re making his favourite barbecue fish. Mia goes shopping and Nikau and Bella go to get takeaway, leaving Ari and Tane to watch a recording of the game he missed.
At the Diner, Jasmine is looking at the thread, which contains several comments about the burnt receipt. When Bella and Nikau come in, Jasmine goes over and tries to get Nikau to delete the post. Nikau says he can’t control what people do, it’s nothing compared to what Felicity’s done and Jasmine’s only friends with her because she’s dating her brother. Back at the house, Tane chides Ari for constantly watching him. He notes Ari warned him dating a cop’s sister would be trouble, although they didn’t anticipate what kind of trouble. He thanks Ari for saving his life. Ari says that was Logan but Tane points out Ari agreed to the experimental treatment.
Felicity comes running up to Cash on the beach and, in a rather frantic manner, tells him she knows who’s behind it all: Anne. She admits she doesn’t know why she’s doing it, except that she seems to think she has some sort of connection with Tane. Cash says she’ll need evidence. Felicity says Anne was the only person who could have made the post about the burnt receipt and had access to her van to plant the receipt and drugs but Cash isn’t convinced it’s enough. Felicity is upset that he isn’t able to say that he believes her.
Jasmine chats to Bella in private at the Diner counter, saying Nikau inciting people is illegal and as soon as the hashtag stops being of use to the police then they’ll act. Bella goes back to Nikau and says that Jasmine had a point and he’s targeting Felicity without knowing the facts. Nikau insists that he’s protecting Tane and Bella asks how telling people that Felicity needs to pay does that. Nikau leaves. Back at the Parata house, Tane complains about not being able to do anything to Ari and Mia. He wonders when the gym will reopen but they don’t know. Nikau returns but is cagey about Bella’s whereabouts, just saying she’s busy. Tane gives him the toki back.
Jasmine meets up with Bella on the beach. Bella says Nikau was too defensive to listen and laments the day that Sienna introduced him to social media, saying it was bad enough when he just had girls following him about but now he’s the one being toxic. Jasmine suggests she tell him how she feels. Bella tracks Nikau down at the surf club and takes his phone away when he doesn’t pay attention to her. She says he’s inciting anger and hatred. Nikau agrees to spend time together without phones.
Cash arrives at the police station as Darren is preparing to take a group of officers out. Darren explains they’re going to arrest Felicity. Cash tries to talk him out of it and tells him what Felicity told him about Anne being responsible but Darren tells him to step out of the way. The police cars head to the caravan park, with Cash following. However, when they go to the van, there’s no sign of Felicity or her things.
Darren and Cash arrive back at the station. Cash rejects a call from Jasmine and offers to let Darren see that it’s not Felicity. He wants Darren to check out the new information but Darren only promises to listen to Felicity when they find her. He wonders if Cash tipped Felicity off. Cash says he didn’t want her to run since it makes her look guilty. Darren is going to issue an alert to look out for her. Cash heads back to the caravan park and meets up with Jasmine. He tells her about the attempt to arrest Felicity and her knowing he doesn’t believe her. He thinks she’s got no reason to come back to be arrested.
Darren turns up at the Parata house and tells Ari, Tane and Mia that they can reopen the gym. He also tells them about the attempt to arrest Felicity and her disappearance, promising they’re looking out for her. Outside the surf club, Nikau has got the news and tells Bella that he was right. He makes another post on his page telling people to hunt for Felicity. Bella is aghast at him starting a witch hunt and walks away.
Ari reassures Tane that he’s safe there and Mia says they’ll give him a proper welcome home. After the other two have gone, Tane hears someone outside. He finds a rose left on the doorstep with a note saying “See you soon.”
