Will Alf and Duncan agree to turning Ailsa’s life support machine off? Tom and Gypsy’s internet romance heats up. The mystery of Mitch’s identity continues.

Extended Summary

James tells Alf that Ailsa went into cardiac arrest, and that while she is now stable he believes that Ailsa will no longer be mentally with them. She could awaken from her coma but in all likelihood she will no be the Ailsa they all know. He later tells Alf that it the ventilator that is keeping her alive. Duncan overhears James and Alf talking about Alisa never waking up and he is very upset and doesn’t want to believe it. Alf manages to pacify him and tells him they have reached a decision to stop the ventilator and let Ailsa die. He talks to James about organ donation as Ailsa carried a card. Alf has a long chat with Donald and asks his advice, Donald says he believes it is cruel to keep someone on a ventilator but he also knows that life is precious. However Alf has decided and tells the hospital to switch off the machines.

Hayley manages to get a breakfast to Mitch who is hiding under the house. When she is at school she collects a guitar from the music library. Travis meets Mitch at the beach and tells him that he is sure although he has no proof that Mitch was on his boat and was living in the surf club. Travis tells him that he thinks he is a decent kid as he took only a small amount of change from Rebecca’s wallet.

Hayley turns to Gypsy for advice about Mitch and Sam she doesn’t know whom she should pick. Gypsy then tells Hayley about her Internet romance. Hayley hands Mitch the guitar and they go busking. However Joel catches them and tells them they have to stop, as he needs a permit. He also tells them they are over an hour late for the afternoon lessons at school and so he takes them back. Hayley receives a lecture and a punishment exercise of an essay of 500 words about the Guitar past and present, while Mitch has made up a story and left in a hurry.

Chloe talks to Irene about maybe leaving Summer Bay as it holds too many memories of Lachie. Diana calls round and makes Chloe an offer of a flat and an allowance each month near to any University she wants to go to in Australia. That it is a genuine offer and she won’t interfere and there are no strings attached.

Tom and Gypsy are on the Internet chatting away to each other under the pen names of TNT and GalPal. They still have no idea that know each other in real life but find out they both live in Summer Bay and write about a possible meeting.
