Mitch is nearly caught in the shower with Hayley. Ailsa goes into cardiac arrest. Mrs Welles captures Justine’s “confession” on tape.
Extended Summary
A newspaper reporter hands Justine’s mum a pocket tape recorder to catch Justine’s confession to killing Ruby. Later Justine and her mum have a long and close chat on the beach. Justine moans that the majority of people in the Bay think that she hurt Ruby. Justine says to her mum “What do they think I would say, yeah I killed the baby”? Justine’s mum has tape-recorded the phrase on tape. Later Justine’s mum lets the reporter hear the tape, he doesn’t think it is a confession of guilt, but Justine’s mum tells him she needs the money badly. He tells her she will have to wait until the story is published.
James and his colleagues run test on Ailsa who is showing no signs of coming out of her coma. Duncan is having nightmares about the crash and about Ailsa asking him for help. Alf doesn’t know what to do as he still blames Duncan for what happened to Ailsa. However, James tells him that Duncan really needs him but Alf just says that Ailsa needs him much more. James who tells him that it wasn’t his fault consoles Duncan. Alf does finally tell Duncan that he is not to blame for the accident and he doesn’t need to feel guilty.
Mitch is told by Sam to keep away from Hayley or to look out. They begin to fight but Rebecca steps in and puts a stop to it. Then Sam tells Mitch that he smells. Hayley meets up with Mitch and she tells him she will borrow a guitar from the school so he will be able to busk and earn some money. Hayley invites Mitch into the beach house when everyone is out and he asks her if he can have a quick shower. However he has to hide in the bathroom when Sam appears with a video, Hayley is trying to figure a way of getting rid of him when Irene arrives back. She invites Sam to stay and so Mitch has to stay hiding behind the shower curtain until Sam has gone and Irene goes to bed. Hayley then goes into the bathroom to tell Mitch he can come out now; she gives him one of Will’s old T-shirts.
Diana is in the Diner to meet Olivia and Chloe for a visit. Diana would like to have Olivia on her own but Chloe tells her why she cannot. Diana mentions finding a place in Summer Bay and being in Practice part time to be near them both. Chloe then tells Diana she is thinking of leaving Summer Bay.
At the end of the episode Ailsa goes into cardiac arrest and the medical staff are busy working on her when Alf and Duncan walk in.
