Fin discovers that Haydn’s desire for gambling is as strong as ever. Jack makes his intentions known to Angel.
Extended Summary
Shane and Damian return to the Rosses after school. Shane is angry and does not say anything when Pippa greets him. She asks Damian what is the matter and the tells her not to ask him, but Fisher, as it was his idea. Later on at the Diner, Pippa asks Fisher the story about Shane and Jack. He fills her in on his idea.
Jack is interested in Angel and asks Damian about her. Damian does not say much as Jack has met her already and Jack comments on why she hangs around with a dipstick like Shane. Sam overhears him and tells him he saw her on the beach. Jack asks him where exactly on the beach did he see her. Sam takes him to the beach and shows the spot: she is still there. He encourages him to go and chat her up; Jack won’t while Sam is around. Sam goes but returns after Jack goes down to her. Jack says hi to her and they get talking. He asks her about her and Sarah. She refuses to say anything until he says that she exposed Sarah’s secrets. Angel asks him why is he asking if he knows and he replies that he is interested.
Haydn gets a phone call and hears some good news. However, he says he can’t as he has no money and he promised some people. Soon after he puts the handset down, he looks around the room. He sees Damian’s wallet on his bed and Damian enters the room. Haydn lies that he came for his watch. He watches him put his wallet into his drawer.
Jack decides to go to Alf’s shop to see Sarah. Sam and Sally tease him, and ask him does he have the hots for another girl! Pippa hears this and asks Sally who is this girl. Sally tells her who and tells her that there is nothing to worry about as he does not have a chance. Pippa hopes so as she does not want Jack to get in Shane’s bad books again. Jack enters the shop, only to find Sarah leaving. He tells her that he would like to get her and Angel together. She tells him she is not interested. Roxy shouts at him asking what does he want. He looks around and says he’ll take the mints. After Jack returns, Sam teases about him getting mints for his breath for Angel!
Sally tries to convince him about Angel. She tells him that she does not want him to make an idiot of himself like she did, and tells him about herself and Damian. She tells him that Angel is sophisticated and he pulls out his shades and tells her he’ll give her sophisticated! Sally gives up and leaves.
Damian tells Shane that he thinks Jack is making a move on Angel. Shane refuses to believe him. Angel and Jack come in the Diner from the beach and she tells him it is great to meet someone with the same interests. Shane asks her about this and she points out that he does not have the same interests when it comes to reading. He calls Jack and threatens him that if he goes near her, he’ll come after him. Jack reminds him that Fisher would not be impressed with him, but Shane does not care as he cares about her. Pippa and Sam leave the Diner, but Sam goes up to Angel and says that Jack likes her and that he even bought mints for his breath! Angel tells Shane that Sam is just a kid and that it does not mean anything.
Haydn goes down and is ready to leave. Pippa tells him she thought he has gone and asks him who was the caller who rang earlier. He lies that it was just a friend. He runs and stops at the Surf Club. Sarah is there and asks him is this Haydn. She says he scared her and he asks her what is she doing there. She is thinking about the fight with Angel and Haydn tells her he must go. Meanwhile, in the Diner, Fin is waiting anxiously for Haydn, who is late. Haydn arrives and tells her he wants to borrow money. When she asks what does he want it for, he tells her he wants it for a horse. She is shocked and he tries to convince that he could pay off everything and that he could have a fresh start after the bet. She asks him to give her tonight, and he asks her about tomorrow…
