Extended Summary

Bobby is at Alf and Ailsa’s complaining about the police; surely they know Al is lying? Alf thinks it’s for the courts to decide and Bobby has a go at him for turning against Fisher. Alf still thinks Fisher made a mistake not reporting it. He leaves to play chess with Tom.

Martin and Greta are still kissing. Greta wants to know what changed and Martin says he’s always had the urge but it was just hidden away. Lance returns from his wanderings, waving a white flag and apologising for setting Martin up with Greta. Martin tells Lance that Greta is the best thing that’s ever happened to him!

Bobby tells Ailsa about the day she met Shane. He was the first person she told about Al’s abuse and he always looked out for her. Why would anyone want to shoot him? Ailsa says they will probably never know but Bobby wants to help Fisher. Ailsa tells her to leave it to the police.

Alf and Tom are playing chess when Al comes in with the rent, although it’s $20 short. He complains about nobody giving him a job and Alf suggests he try his luck somewhere else. Al says he’d be out of here if it weren’t for the cops; all the cowards in Summer Bay stick together. Al leaves and Alf tells Tom he’s too soft. Tom says Al does have a daughter to look after.

Martin is telling Lance all about how he fell for Greta. Marilyn arrives home and is ecstatic to see Lance. She doesn’t care that he didn’t find his father, so long as he never leaves her again.

Bobby finds Matt mopping the surf club. She wants to talk to his parents but Matt says they’re going through enough and he isn’t interested in helping Fisher. If Al was blackmailing Fisher, why doesn’t Sophie say something? Bobby says she’s scared of him. He beats Sophie up just like he used to beat her up. Matt tells Bobby to stop hassling him and get out or he’ll call the cops.

Greta has made tacos for dinner. Marilyn, Martin and Lance all think Greta should move in but she asks what she would do for a job. Marilyn and Lance think the girls should stay home and have babies but Greta doesn’t even know if she wants kids. Martin tells her they’ve only just fallen in love; in couple of days she’ll be feeling clucky! Greta looks distressed.

Matt is at the Diner the next morning and apologises for losing his temper the other day. Ailsa tells him Bobby is terrified about Fisher going to jail and cares as much about what happened to Shane as he does. Matt thinks she just has a vendetta against Al. Ailsa tells him he used to beat up Bobby. Only Sophie can say whether he’s still doing the same.

Viv comes home and finds Bobby looking over the old newspaper articles again. All her friends think Fisher is innocent now they know it was the wrong gun. Viv is still feeling bad about how she acted. Bobby can’t find anything helpful in the articles.

Lance and Martin leave the mobile home and Marilyn talks about how being in love feels; it feels like being on the big dipper. She asks Greta if she feels the same about Martin but Greta says it just feels like she’s been run over by a steamroller!

Matt is knocking at the caravan, looking for Sophie, but Al comes along and tells him Sophie has got the flu. Matt asks him to tell her he came round.

Lance and Martin are having breakfast at the Diner and Lance is trying to understand what Martin sees in Greta. Martin says it’s called maturing.

Matt comes to see Bobby and tells her it felt like Al was trying to hide something. Matt thinks they should try and get Sophie away from him but Bobby says she won’t leave because she’s scared of him.

Marilyn is trying on different lipsticks for her wedding day and mentions Greta and Martin’s wedding. Greta isn’t so sure. The only thing she can think about when kissing Martin is when did he last brush his teeth! She’s made a big mistake; she’s not in love with Martin. Lance and Martin are playing pool at the surf club and Martin suggests a double wedding. He leaves to propose to Greta! However, he finds Greta with her suitcase packed, ready to go home. She tells Martin she’s sorry.

At Summer Bay House, Carly refuses to give Bobby, Viv and Matt the key for Al’s van. They say they will take the blame with Tom, and Carly gives in. Bobby asks Carly to go and watch the van and let them know when Al leaves.

Martin thinks he was a holiday fling. Greta says she’s changed while she’s been here. Andrew has made her think about things and she’s not ready to settle down. She tells Martin she will miss him and uses Marilyn’s line, claiming he makes her feel like she’s been on the big dipper. Martin hopes she’ll come back one day but Greta clearly has no intention.

Carly reports that Al has gone for a shower. Bobby tells Viv to wait in the house and tells Carly to stall Al if he comes out of the shower block. She and Matt enter the caravan and wake Sophie up. She is covered in cuts and bruises.
