Extended Summary

Bobby gets back to school and Donald demands to know why she didn’t turn up for her exam. He thinks she didn’t study and going to see Ailsa is just an excuse. Bobby challenges him to give her an oral exam and if she gets any wrong he can fail her. After getting a phone call from Ailsa, Donald agrees. Donald’s picked the most difficult questions he could but amazingly Bobby is well able for them and answers all correctly. Donald is stunned and annoyed but has to eat humble pie and give Bobby a good result.

Stacey tells Frank that she’s certain Celia will now sell them the store for less than they offered Ailsa. However, when Celia turns up she says she thinks it’s worth more than the Macklins are offering. Lance and Martin arrive at the office as Celia is leaving, hoping to impress Stacey, and hear Frank and Stacey discussing it. Now Martin has an idea. He decides he and Lance have to force Celia into selling the store to Stacey. They make their first move by going to the store and constantly changing their mind about what they’re going to buy, leaving Celia in a fluster.

Alf arrives home, having heard about Roo’s plan to give custody of Martha to Brett. He doesn’t think Brett can look after her, since he’s living in a caravan and has no job. Roo tells him it’s nothing to do with him. She runs out.

Roo arrives at the Macklin office in tears and runs to Frank. He opens his arms for her and embraces her, trying to find out whats wrong and soothe her…and right on cue Bobby walks in to witness the ‘intimate’ scene. She thinks the worst and rushes out angry before Frank can even open his mouth to explain….
