Have you noticed a change in Home and Away this year?

I have noticed a change, especially with the Morgan's and Astoni's, I love the Astoni's just wish Maggie would be shown more at School too.

There has been some change in the direction but not a huge improvement. Classic H&A still feels like a distant memory and the sow is still quite gloomy, cold and dreary.

Spoiler

From what I have read, the crime element seems to increase again soon esp regarding Robbo, and new character who was once Jacka Hills from Neighbours.

Sort of. They have headed in a new direction. But definitely not a huge change of improvement. Or a change in format by any means. Bringing in the new family with the Astonis. I've noticed the change. Morgans not so much. As they still brought in a level of crime.

Bringing in the Astonis has brought a focus back to the SBH. Which has been great.

But with the new character Robbo, that element of crime does not seem to be leaving any time soon. As tbh I've started loosing interest in the show since they killed off Billie. I like Ziggy. But it's not enough for me to Be a regular watcher. Watch every now and then. But not frequently.

No I have found this year to be quite depressing to be honest.

I have to agree with you, I think this year has been quite boring and only just begun to pick up, as for the show being family based and more comedic then I have to say no the comedy characters at the minute I can think of no one long gone are the days of characters like Lance and Martin and Chris Harrington they made the show a lot more fun based.

The family part again no the Morgan's I don't think it will be long before they begin to get split up I can't see Mason and Brodie staying on the show for the long term. I was pretty excited by the Astoni's arrival but I think Ben let's the side down I thought he'd become a member of the bay and get along with everyone in a sort of Brad Willis way from Neighbours but he's done nothing but argue and fall out with people since he stepped foot in the bay.

Agree with Luke on the crime front as well I don't see the element of crime easing up anytime soon infact this looks as this is getting worse.

I'd rather the show was a bit more like 1993-94 or to a lesser extent 1995-97.

Funny s*** happened in those times  but we got the serious (but weren't bogged down with it)

I haven't noticed it all that much but I hope they continue in this direction if they are going there. I enjoyed the school-related storylines a lot and I feel like they're a lot more relevant to the audience than a lot of the out-there ones that are just there to create drama.
