Fitzy comes out of the kitchen, wearing a gorgeous white dress. JACK: Wow. You look... unbelievable. FITZY: Thanks... I wasn't sure about the dress... JACK: You look perfect. He pulls her closer and kisses her tenderly. Her arms move up his neck and the door opens. MATILDA: Sorry... Fitzy pulls away. FITZY: Nothing to worry about. Want to join us for dinner? MATILDA: No thanks - I'm heading over to Ric's, just wanted to change quickly. FITZY: Okay! Matilda goes into her room and Jack pulls Lara closer again. JACK: Where were we? FITZY: At the point where I was about to tell you that I made you dinner! JACK: I didn't know you could cook. FITZY: Who says I can? They laugh and walk to the kitchen. HOSPITALLeah's room. Dan is sitting next to her bed, holding her hand. Rachel is standing next to him. DAN: I don't understand. RACHEL; It's complicated... DAN: But she'll be okay? RACHEL: Her condition is critical, but stable. DAN: What does that mean exactly? RACHEL: She's still very sick, but she's out of immediate danger. DAN: And the baby? RACHEL: Technically she should have lost it... but she didn't. So the baby is okay. But it is going to be an awfully tough pregnancy. It's possible that one of them - or even both - might not make it through. DAN: Isn't there anything you can do? RACHEL: I'm sorry... no. FLETCHER HOME Sally and Peter are sitting on the couch, Pippa is sitting on Peter's lap. Matilda comes in and Sal looks up. SALLY: Hey Mattie! MATILDA: Hey. Is Ric here? SALLY: Yeah, in his room. MATILDA: Thanks. She walks up to Ric's room and Sally frowns. SALLY: Something's wrong. PETER: What makes you say that? SALLY: I can feel it. I'm worried... Peter puts his arm around Sally's shoulder and kisses the top of her head. PETER: Hey... It'll be all right. RIC'S ROOM Ric is lying on his bed. Mattie enters. MATILDA: Hey. RIC: Hey. MATILDA: Where's Cassie? RIC: Rocco took her to the movies. What's wrong? MATILDA: I was at Rachel today... RIC: What for? MATILDA: Remember... that test we had done? RIC: Yeah? She is lying in the hospital bed, tubes in her nose etc. He sits down next to her and takes her hand. Leah turns her head and looks at him with a small smile. LEAH: Hey. DAN: Hey. How are you feeling? LEAH: Tired. DAN: I should have been at home with you. If Sally hadn't found you... LEAH: Dan... DAN: I love you. LEAH: You too. DAN: I should go... I don't want to tire you out... LEAH: No. Sit with me. Please. He sits back down and they hold hands tightly. FLETCHER HOUSE Peter and Sally are sitting on the couch. PETER: How about Hawaii? SALLY: Nooo! Something different! How about Italy? PETER: France? SALLY: Or Africa. PETER: That could work... SALLY: Really? PETER: Yeah... we could go on a safari. Ride on elephant. Touch lions. SALLY: Do you want me dead? PETER: No! Why? SALLY: Touching lions? PETER: Come on! Small ones! SALLY: If you even can. PETER: And we can camp in a tent... just the two of us... and the bush... and the sound of hyenas... SALLY: Hmmm... okay... you've got me. We can go. PETER: Great! He kisses her. Ric and Matilda come down the stairs, looking serious. RIC: Guys... we don't want to interrupt, but... Sally looks at Ric with a worried frown. SALLY: What's wrong? What happened? Ric and Matilda sit down opposite Sally and Peter. MATILDA: So are you going to tell them or shall I? SALLY: Tell us what? Pippa holds her arms out to Ric and he takes her on his lap. RIC: Sal... Mattie is pregnant. SALLY: What? Are you sure? MATILA: Yeah. Rachel did a blood test. SALLY: I... I don't know what to say... RIC: I'm sorry for dissapointing you Sal. We should have been more careful. SALLY: Well... PETER: Okay, wait. This isn't the end of the world, okay? We can handle this, we can make it work. Have you two thought about what you were going to do? RIC: Not really. PETER: You have three options. Abortion, Adoption and the right thing. Now, we'll support you in whatever you do, but I prefer that you keep the baby. It's a child and it's your child. I'm sure Sal would agree with me there. Still speechless, Sally nods. MATILDA: Do we have to get married? PETER: That is entirely up to you. You're both very young, you have to be sure that's what you really want. MATILDA: We should tell Tony though. PETER: Yes you should. Matilda and Ric stand up and walk out. (Pippa is still with Ric) Sally looks at Peter with a smile. SALLY: Wow. PETER: What? SALLY: I'm impressed.
