tasha7905 Posted November 15, 2006 Report Share Posted November 15, 2006 Going to try and get back into this fic again. So here is the next update. Chapter 12 - Planning "Hi Jack. How are you?" Martha said walking into the diner. "Good Mac, do you want to join me" Jack said gesturing to the empty seat in front of him. "Sure but are you not waiting for Kit" Martha asked innocently, she knew that he wasnt thats why she had made sure she ran into Jack. "No she is working. So how have you been, is it good to be back in Summer Bay" Jack said smiling at her, He was enjoying being able to tak to her as a friend. "Yea it is really good to be around people who love me and who I love." Martha said staring at him intently. Jack squirmed a little and she knew she had pushed it slightly to far to quickly. "So anyway how are you and Kit? Is everything going well?" she said trying to sound sincere. "Its fantastic. I never thought I would feel like this, I never thought I could love someone so much" Jack said and then stopped. He could have kicked himself for his lack of tact, but when he spoke about Kit he couldnt help but gush about how much he loved her. "Jack its ok, we are friends" She said holding his hand in hers. "You have a right to be happy" She smiled at him but secretly her heart was breaking. Pull yourself together she said to herself you have to focus. Kit would be out of the picture soon enough she just had to put her plan into action. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "So Belle what is Ric's new girlfriend like" Cassie shouted as she ran to catch up with Belle. "Not really sure if thats any of your business" Belle snapped. Even though she didnt trust Georgia. Cassie was still partly the reason Ric had tried to kill himself so she didnt trust her either. "Sorry. I only want to know because I care about him. Honestly Belle the thing with Dan was a big mistake and I know I cant take it back but it doesnt mean I want to see Ric get hurt again." Cassie said the tone of voice seemed sincere. "What makes you think Georgia will hurt him" Belle said suddenly alert. "No reason" Cassie said eyeing Belle's reaction suspiciously. "Why do you think she will?" "Lets just say that I think Georgia has the same problem choosing between Ric and Lucas as you did." Belle said storming off angry with herself for reacting and saying anything. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Lucas wait can I give you a hand" Georgia said running up to him outside the supermarket in Yabbie Creek. Lucas was laden down with shopping bags. "Yea that would be great thanks" he replied smiling at her as she took some bags off him. "This is all for the dinner Matilda is cooking tonight" "Really, she shouldnt be going to all this trouble for Ric and I." Georgia said sweetly. "Dont worry its not all for you. She has invited lots of other people too. I think she is enjoying being able to socialise more now she has had our gorgeous son, when she was pregnant we didnt go out as much." Lucas said getting the same dreamy look on his face he always did when he talked about his family. "Well anyway, I will see you tonight" Georgia said putting the bags in the boot of his car. Turning back to him she leaned up and kissed him on the cheek."Im looking forward to it. It should be an interesting evening" She said winking at him as she walked off. "I wouldnt miss it sis, although if your cooking maybe I should have stayed at home" Henry said laughing at the look on his twins face. "Watch it Henry, she has been stressing all day, one more comment like that and you will be one dead man" Lucas said appearing from upstairs. "Thanks for the warning mate." Henry said sitting down. "So guys who else is coming tonight" Belle said looking at the amount of places set at the table. "Um, well there is Jack, Kit, Georgia, Ric, Tash, and Robbie. Oh and Drew, Peters son he is back for a while visiting Dan. I think he is trying to look after Dan, you know since Leah left him." Matilda said. "And we invited Martha too honey remember Jack said it would be ok" Lucas said to his wife. "Well I hope it goes well. I guess it should do as long as Cassie's name isnt mentioned to Ric or Drew and there doesnt seem to be much tension between Martha, Jack and Kit so they should be cool." Henry said ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An hour later they were all sat aroundthe table eating, Georgia had managed to position herself between Lucas and Ric. She was determined that tonight she was going make Lucas doubt his perfect life. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Martha was sat next to Jack with Kit on his other side, it was killing her watching them so in love, but she knew she had to focus, her plan would start to work soon enough. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone chatted freely and Georgia studied them trying to remember all the information she had been given on them all. She knew there was a lot of history between them all she just had to find a way to use it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When they had finished eating they all moved into the lounge to carry on drinking. Suddenly Adam's cries could be heard from upstairs. "I will go baby" Lucas said to Matilda "You have only just finished clearing up." "Do you mind if I come to Lucas" Georgis said " I would like to see the little guy properly." She followed Lucas to his room and watched as he tended lovingly to his son. "Do you mind if I ask you something?" "Of course not" Lucas said laying his son back down gently. He then joined Georgia who was sat on the bed. "well, this is slightly awkward and please tell me to shut up if you want to, but has Ric ever had feelings for Matilda. I mean I know they are close and everything" She paused and bit her lip timidly. "Ric, no not since we were teenagers, I mean they did date but only for a few weeks and that was before I moved to the bay. Why would you ask?" Lucas said puzzled by her question. "Im not sure really. I mean he has told me about his dating history I mean with Belle and Cassie, but I get the impression he is holding something back and he does talk about Maddie alot. I dont know, I guess I got it wrong. Sorry I shouldnt have said anything. I didnt mean to worry you." She said with a shy smile. "Dont worry you didnt and honestly Im sure Ric will tell you whatever it is when he is ready" Lucas said standing up "Now lets go back downstairs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "You guys seem perfect for each other" Georgia said. It had been an hour since she had spoken to Luc and from they way he was reacting with Matilda now he didnt doubt her at all. So now Georgia was trying a different tactic. "Thanks we are really happy "Tasha said smiling. "You all seem pretty happy actually" georgia said glancing around the room at all the different pairings even Martha and Drew looked happy chatting away to Kit and Jack. "Yea I guess most of us have finally found the right person but it has taken a long time and a lot of heart ache. I mean if you think back to a couple of years ago Lucas was with Cassie and now look at him" tasha said gesturing towards Luc. Georgia looked to where Lucas was. He had Maddie on his lap and was cuddling up to her as she chatted to Robbie. "really with Cassie "Georgia said with genuine surprise. She hadnt read that in the notes she had on them all. "Oh yea, but then he fell in love with Matilda and Ric wanted Cassie which made Belle go crazy but we cant mention that." Tasha giggled. "Wow, what did Belle do" georgia said glad of this new information. "I dont think we need to talk about that" Robbie said putting his arm around Tash as she giggled again. "I think you have had too much to drink, time to go darling." he led her away from Georgia. They left and slowly but surely everyone else followed. Ric and Georgia were last. "Thanks for a wonderful evening" georgia said kissing Maddie on the cheek. "No problem lets hope we have lots more" Matilda said pleased with how the night had gone. Lets not Georgia thought putting a smile on her face although this one was not completely fake. She had new information thanks to a drunken Tasha, she just had to figure out the whole story and she knew with Josh's contacts that wouldnt take to long then the plan could start properly. She couldnt wait for that, but she knew that it would be a while before she and Josh could actually access what they wanted, she couldnt rush it.
