Finally guys, here's an update. Sorry it's taken me so long!

Part 12

Amanda finally arrived back in Summer Bay and pulled up outsisde of the Surf Club. As she got out of the car, she spotted Leah standing over by the fence. She told Belle to take Ryan inside to the club, and she made her way over to Leah.

"Leah....?"

"Oh, hey, Amanda, you're back"

"I came back as soon as I heard. I can't get my head around it - I just can't believe he's gone"

"Have you told Ryan yet?" Leah asked sensitively.

"No, I can't find the words, I mean, how do you tell a little boy that he's never going to see daddy again?"

Leah could see tears welling up in Amanda's eyes, and she put her arms around her to comfort her. After a while, they made their way into the Surf Club together.

Although the atmosphere was tinged with sadness, there was a great sense of unity and friendship in the Surf Club. Even Amanda was showing a completely different side of her character. Sally, Morag and Cassie had now finalised the plans for Ric and Martha's funeral, so the community decided to hold that one first. It would happen at Stewart's Point the following afternoon, with a burial at the Summer Bay Church later. They were dreading the moment they had to say goodbye, and this feeling was made worse by the confusion over what had happened to Alf.

*Meanwhile*

Along the Yabbie Creek road, Alf's hat remained where it was. 20 minutes along the path that led into the bush from the road, Alf awoke. He felt drowsy and looked around. At first he couldn't even remember who he was, but after a minute or two to recuperate slightly, memories came flooding back to him. He remembered standing in the kitchen and talking to Sally, then making his way upstairs, but from there, everything was a blank. How had he ended up here after simply walking upstairs in his house, and why was there a large gash on his leg? Oblivious to the fact that there had been an earthquake, and much of Summer Bay was now in ruins, he stood up, looked around him, and headed down the path that lay out in front of him.

So, how did Alf end up here? Come back soon for Part 13, where things begin to get explained. And as Alf makes his way back to Summer Bay, which terrifying face will make a reppearance?

I am on a roll! LOL! Here's Part 13 :

After about an hour of walking, Alf arrived onto the Yabbie Creek main road where he found his hat. He was so overcome by heat and dehydration he didn’t know how he was walking, but his desperation to get home made him go on. He carried on walking up the main road, every now and again stopping to catch his breath. He looked down at his badly sunburnt arms, and this brought the question back into his mind, ‘how did I get here?’. As he continued to wander up the road, he glanced over and noticed the Yabbie Creek service station. He had some loose change in his pocket, so hurried over as quickly as he could to buy a bottle of water. The cashier gave Alf a strange look as he entered, clearly taking note of his bright sunburn and minor injuries. After paying, he took the bottle of water outside, and took a sip. He had never been so pleased to have a drink before in his life, it was like heaven being able to quench his terrible thirst. As he screwed the cap back onto the bottle, he looked over to a car that was parked next to one of the petrol pumps. A short, slim woman stood filling up her rusty red vehicle. Alf stood for a minute to prepare himself for continuing back into Summer Bay, when suddenly, a feeling of terror filled his veins. This feeling was worse than how his earthquake ordeal had made him feel, this was a feeling that only one person could give him. He stood transfixed to the spot, unable to move, as if his legs were heavy weights. He remained where he was, staring at the woman who had been filling her car up. She shut the door and was now making her way towards the shop. She walked past Alf, taking virtually no notice of him and entered through the automatic door. Alf turned slowly, still in a state of utter disbelief. He wanted nothing more than to run back into town to inform them that she was back, but he was gob smacked. He remained in the same spot on the ground as Zoe McAllister came back out of the shop and approached him, showing no knowledge that she already knew who he was. As he tried to move backwards, he was frozen, and clearly unaffected by his reaction, she asked “Do you know which road I should take to get into Summer Bay?”.

Come back for Part 14 for various mysteries to be uncovered. How the hell did Alf get here in the first place? How is Zoe McAllister still alive after the explosion at the tyre factory last year? Why is she walking around as if nothing has happened? Why is she pretending not to know Alf?

Part 14

Alf remained frozen to the spot. He opened his mouth in an attempt to speak, but nothing came out. A look came across Zoe's face, a look familiar to Alf, one of kindness and genuine concern, a lok that Zoe had fooled the entire community with during her reign of terror the previous year.

"Are, are you ok?" she asked, "you look a bit pale".

"You're...you're...you're here.....but how?". Alf's mouth had become so dry he could barely get the words out.

"Erm, I'm really sorry, what do you mean? Do I know you?". The look on Zoe's face was one of utter bewilderment. An onlooker could easily believe that her act was genuine.

"How are you still alive? After last year?" Alf asked, a sense of terror in his voice.

"Oh, I think I understand now....you don't live in Summer Bay by any chance do you?"

"Oh, pull the other one Zoe, you know who I am. I dunno how you can look me in the eye after what you tried to do to us last year. I shouldn't be surprised though, you are a psycho. But you're not gonna get away with it this time, I'm calling the police.

"No, wait, please, let me explain, it's not what you think"

"Not what I think?" Alf said angrily, "you look here, I may be older than I used to be, but I'm not senile, you can't fool us anymore so don't even try to".

Alf got out his phone, and before Zoe could do anything he was dialling the police. Alf was sure that at any minute Zoe would make a run for it. After all, this was the woman who, last year, had gone out of her way to try to destroy Summer Bay. Somehow, she had survived the explosion so she was hardly going to hang around while Alf got her arrested. But it was as if Zoe had no idea what was going on. She simply stood waiting for Alf to finish on the phone. Alf was putting on a brave face, but the truth was, himself, and every other resident of the Bay was terrified by the mere thought of this woman, but the thought of stopping her finishing what she started was getting him through.

*Meanwhile*

Morag was overjoyed. The police has just rung her to say that they had just received a call from Alf. The way that they had explained it to her was that he had made some random stating that he had just seen Zoe McAllister and that she was on her way back to town.

"He's obviously got some very serious dehydration nd sun stroke" Morag explained to a happy Sally, "that's why he's making such absurd comments. I just don't understand where he's been for all this time."

The police were going to take Alf to the hospital where Morag would be waiting.

*Back at the petrol station*

As Constable Harper drove round the corner of the road, he caught sight of Alf standing by the wall. Standing next to him was a short, blonde woman in her mid twenties. As Harper stopped his car, and got out, he was utterly shocked to realise that what Alf had said was by no means a hallucination, Zoe McAllister stood as broad as day, seemingly without a care in the world. He stood for a moment, simply staring, then instinctively picked up the mobile to call Peter.

10 minutes later, Peter arrived on scene to find Ken standing outside of the car with Alf, a handcuffed Zoe sitting inside. Peter got out of this car and simply looked through the window of the police car at Zoe. He had no answers to any of the questions Harper and Alf had, so he simply instructed Harper to drive Zoe to the station, and he would follow. He called another officer to come and escort Alf to the hospital.

When Peter and Harper arrived at the station, they took Zoe straight into the interview room. Peter was nervous. He had finally caught the woman he had set out to catch last year, but he was in a state of shock as he had spent the past year believing she had died. He now wanted to get all the answers he wanted, so without hesitation, commenced with the interview.......

Come back for Part 15 for more answers. The mystery of how Alf ended up in the bush will begin to unravel. And as Peter's interview commences, he will get the shock of his life - something that nobody could ever have possibly have known, as the truth had been covered up so well for so long. But what is this shocking secret about Zoe? Find out soon!
