Part 11

Irene, Tasha and Robbie arrived back from the city to find their home in ruins. Robbie was so thankful that he had decided to join them at the last minute before the main earthquake hit town. Although Tasha had ideally wanted some 'women time' with Irene and Josie, she was so grateful for her husband's support through the tragedy of losing the baby, and she finally felt like she was starting to move on.

There was not much left of the Beach House, so they joined their friends at the Surf Club, which was now officially a home for the town. All the residents had now left hospital and could now finally begin to think about the future. The strange news about Alf spread all over Summer Bay and it was a complete mystery as to what had happened. All everybody could do was pray and hope that wherever their favorite resident was, he was ok.

Leah stood outside the surf club watching over the beach. Tears streamed down her face as she thought of Dan. Peter had gone to the city to spend some time with his parents, and he was going to bring them back to the bay so they could organise his funeral as a family. Leah was pleased as it gave her time to reflect - she was not ready to say goodbye to her husband yet.

Elsewhere, Beth sat in Noah's Bar, staring into nothingness. Losing Tony had affected her so much. Lucas was inconsolable as well. Having lost his father and brother at the same time, he found it hard to imagine there even being a future. He and the Hunters had already started their plans for remembering Tony and Jack, whilst Sally, Morag and Cassie were left in charge of Ric and Martha's. They were all finding it difficult, but the strength they were getting from one another was helping them through.

As for Kim, he had called Rachel's brother Brad in the city, and he had come down to bein making plans for Rachel's funeral. Everybody was surprised at how well Kim was handling things; after all he had been through, people just expected him to fall apart, but he had become a real pillar of the community in recent days - it was almost as if he was trying to do what he knew Rachel would be doing in his situation - helping her friends.

*Meanwhile*

Amanda's black car came speeding up the road approaching Yabbie Creek, through an area of dense bushland. With Belle and Ryan in tow, she hurtled along the 20 minute journey until she reached the Yabbie Creek welcome sign. As she had been driving, she hadn't noticed Alf Stewart's hat lying on the side of the road....

Part 12 soon :)
