Extended Summary

Harper and Dana are walking in a park area. Harper apologises for making Dana fly back and asks about Xander. Dana asks to see the ring before admitting that she and Xander just went round and round in circles until it ended with him staying in Melbourne and them breaking up. Meanwhile, Tane tries to excuse himself to take a class which Cash takes as a sign that the answer is no. Tane admits that he doesn’t love Harper but says that he thinks it will come. Cash asks if he’d be marrying her if it wasn’t for the baby. Tane says love doesn’t mean it works out but he and Harper work, and she wants to be married before the baby comes. Cash hopes he knows what he’s doing.

Harper and Dana have retired to Salt. Harper is sorry for disturbing her but Dana says she got nowhere with Xander and he put his career first. Harper goes to get some food. Tane comes in and asks Dana what Harper’s dream honeymoon would be. Dana suggests Japan. Tane asks her to keep it quiet and joins Harper at the bar. Harper leaves him to get the drinks while she rejoins Dana, who says Harper’s hitched herself to the demigod. Harper says they’re less than perfect but Dana thinks love isn’t everything.

Outside, Sonny is commenting on Kirby’s easy job, before admitting he coasts by on charm and good looks. He notes she’s surfing again and instructing, asking how she’s managing with the band. Kirby says Lyrik’s dead. Remi arrives and Sonny asks why he didn’t say anything about the band. Remi doesn’t want to talk about it and says he also hasn’t made up with Eden. He suggests the solution is more beer.

At the Newman house, Eden asks Cash if he’s agreed to being best man. Cash says he has but also says Tane’s admitted to not being in love with Harper. Eden says she didn’t think she and Cash would get back together but Cash says he always loved her. Eden says she doesn’t want to be like Remi, judging other people’s relationship, and wishes he’d give them his blessing.

At Salt, Sonny asks to sit next to Dana at the bar. She agrees but isn’t very warm to him, prompting him to note her flirt game’s not good. They exchange introductions and he says he’s there visiting Remi. Dana says she works with Remi’s girlfriend. Remi and Kirby watch the interaction and approach as Dana is rambling about fake nice guys that break her heart. Kirby suggests Sonny isn’t the rebound she’s after and they steer him away as Harper and Rose arrive. Dana tells Rose that Xander’s a self-centred jerk. Rose says she spoke to him and he’s upset but Dana isn’t interested, saying men are idiots, losers and time-wasters who make promises they don’t keep.

Dana and Rose arrive back at the Diner flat. Rose isn’t keen on the idea of Dana sticking around just to carry on badmouthing Xander. They suddenly realise Bree is there, having just got back. Dana says they can be a throuple, but doesn’t seem to know what it means. Rose tells Bree that Xander’s not coming back. Dana says they’ve unconsciously coupled (then realises that’s not what she means either) and says Xander broke up with her, with Rose pointing out it was technically the other way round. Dana wonders why they’re acting like she’s the most annoying person in the room (Rose says she is) and goes to get her things from Xander’s old room. Bree decides to stick around instead of finding Remi.

Sonny brings Kirby and Remi shots. As they drink, they make a toast to friends, which Kirby says includes Eden. Sonny and Kirby ask Remi what he’d do if Cash does hurt Eden and she isn’t willing to turn to him. Remi announces he’s going, saying the tab’s still open. Kirby suggests they go after him but Sonny’s attention has been drawn to a young woman drinking with her friends on the balcony and he ropes Kirby into acting as his wing woman.

Tane has joined Cash and Eden at the Newman house and shows them he’s booking a holiday to Tokyo for him and Harper. He heads to his room. A drunken Remi turns up and says he’s not going to forget what Cash put Eden through but he’s not going to punish Eden for being with him and has made his peace over them being together. Eden thanks him. Remi leaves, adding he might throw up in the garden.

Next morning, Bree turns up at the Lyrik house and goes to Remi’s room, laying her hand on the figure under the duvet only to find it’s the woman from Salt. Remi returns home as Bree demands to know who the woman in his bed is and if he’s just cheated on her. Meanwhile, Eden sees Harper’s engagement ring at Salt and congratulates her and Tane. Harper prepares to head off to work but first Tane presents her with the tickets to Japan: It’s booked for three months time but it’s flexible. Harper is delighted.

Remi drags Sonny out of the bathroom and demands he tell Bree why there’s a naked girl in his bed. Sonny initially claims ignorance before admitting she came home with him, where they found Remi passed out on the couch and took his bed. The woman emerges and Sonny tries to introduce her but can’t remember her name, thinking it might be Annie. She decides to leave before it gets more embarrassing. Sonny asks Bree why she’s with Remi and she says he’s the kindest, most handsome man she’s ever met. Sonny excuses himself as Remi asks Bree if she really thought he’d cheated on her before they reunite.

Cash is keeping Eden company at Salt until he starts his shift. He wonders how genuine Remi was. Eden knows he was drunk but thinks he meant it. Rose turns up, having been asked by Mackenzie to drop off Xander’s work keys, explaining about the job. Eden is happy for him but notes it leaves them in the lurch and doesn’t want to call Mackenzie while she’s with her mum. Cash says Rose can talk to him if she needs to.

Rose heads home and finds Dana there packing up Xander’s things. Rose says that’s not up to Dana, and Xander said to send it on to him. Dana picks up a record she bought him, saying she’s going to give it to charity and would like to give the rest of it. Rose tells her to back off and stop slandering her brother, adding that she’s feeling it too.

Sonny arrives at the surf club and Kirby mentions Angela (prompting Sonny to realise that was her name). He says he’s met Bree before wondering if Kirby’s happy with her job. He says she was obsessed with song-writing and gave up medicine to pursue music, asking if she’s going to give it up now. Meanwhile, Dana tracks down Rose in the park and accepts she was being selfish. Rose notes she thought Dana would bring Xander back and she only came there because of him: She’s not sure what she’s doing there anymore.
