Extended Summary

Justin, Theo, Kirby, Eden, Remi, Bree and Tim are all having a good time at the resort, although setting up for rehearsals is rather limited. Tim sees Eden get another call from Cash and convinces her to turn her phone off. At the wrecked Lyrik house, Cash is still trying to phone Eden. John arrives and picks his way through the wreckage, wondering if anyone has called the police. Cash tells John to do it as he leaves to find Eden.

Levi arrives at the beach house and greets Harper. She and Dana explain that the blood pressure’s got worse. Harper admits she hasn’t felt the baby move lately. Levi examines her and Harper, Tane and Dana are all relieved when the baby starts kicking again. However, when Levi looks at the blood pressure chart, his face falls and he admits it’s not what he’d hoped.

At the surf club, Cash asks Abigail if she’s seen Eden or Nerida. She hasn’t and agrees to call him if she sees Eden. John turns up and tells Cash that the police are at the house doing fingerprints. He offers to keep trying Lyrik. Mali turns up and asks Abigail why there’s boards and a merch table outside. Abigail says that she decided to organise the gala with Kirby away, having sent out e-mails and posted about it on socials. She produces a framed version of one of the doctored posters. Mali tells her to put it away and John chimes in that the gala was supposed to be cancelled.

Lyrik are enthusiastically performing with Justin, Bree and Tim listening in. Justin starts filming the performance but Kirby looks uncomfortable when she notices, commenting on how everyone’s quick to bring out cameras. Theo tries to calm things and Justin apologetically puts the camera away. Later, Remi finishes a phone call before they ask for requests. Tim wants to hear one where Eden does the lead vocals and suggests All of You. Eden quickly shuts down the idea and they decide to do Kirby’s new song instead.

Levi explains that the baby is feeling the effects of the heightened blood pressure. Harper says she thought she could keep the baby safe. Tane and Dana tell her she needs to make a decision and Harper agrees to the surgery. Outside the surf club, Abigail enthusiastically tells the crowd about the free board lessons but Mali struggles to muster any enthusiasm when asked to speak. Abigail puts in that John is offering a discount on juices to all their customers which John reluctantly agrees to. He tells Cash that he’s spoken to Remi and everyone’s all right, although he didn’t say where they were. Cash gets a social media alert of a photo of Justin and Bree outside the getaway, with the name of the place, Koi Stone Estate, visible on one of the carts.

At Salt, Levi tells Mackenzie that the surgery’s scheduled for tomorrow; the baby’s lungs haven’t inflated yet so he doesn’t need them to breathe. He is still nervous however, explaining that the baby’s lungs are the size of a grape, meaning the cyst is even smaller. He calls Harper to update her and she shares the news with Tane and Dana. Tane suggests a movie but Harper says she has to be admitted that night to be monitored. Dana goes to pack a bag while Tane gives Harper a hug.

Remi approaches Eden in private, saying he knows she was tempted to answer Cash’s call. Tim arrives and Remi leaves him and Eden alone. Tim asks about the song she wouldn’t sing. Eden admits it’s about Cash and it brings up a lot for her. Tim considers the fact the song still affects her and concludes that she still loves Cash. He asks for a minute. Meanwhile, Cash gets to the wharf and tells a boat owner that he needs to get to the Koi Stone River Estate. The man says they have private transport so Cash flashes his warrant card.

Down on the beach, Mali finishes off a class. John stops by and complains about the number of customers taking up their offer, asking if they’re going to help him move the flags. After John’s gone, Abigail apologises to Mali for getting things wrong and not knowing why Kirby left. Mali is grateful to her. He goes to kiss her then pulls back and laughs awkwardly.

At the hospital, Tane, Harper and Dana arrive and settle in a room. Mackenzie brings Levi a takeaway in his office where he is studying photos of the baby. Dana heads home and goes to Dana’s room where she finds a fluffy bunny. Mali and Abigail also arrive home, where Abigail moves in for a kiss and this time they don’t stop.

Tim is walking near the estate and encounters Cash, refusing to let him see Eden. Remi sees them arguing from a distance and, as Eden approaches looking for Tim, steers her away before she can see them. Cash tries to tell Tim about the car and house being vandalised but Tim thinks Cash is threatening them and accuses him of trying to ruin things, grabbing him.

Next morning, Dana checks in on Harper and Tane before deciding to go and see what anaesthetist she’s got. Tane asks if Harper has thought about names. Harper says she thought of Archie after her grandfather and also looked at Maori names. Tane decides on Archie Werimu, his brother’s middle name. Meanwhile, Levi goes to the theatre, looking apprehensive.

Cash recovers consciousness lying in the grounds and sees he has blood on his hands. He notices Tim lying nearby and crawls over, finding Tim covered in blood from wounds to his head and failing to rouse him. Justin appears and asks Cash what he’s done.
