Episode 8357

Extended Summary

Dana is standing on the beach yelling out instructions in her capacity as a lifeguard. Xander and Rose come along; Dana and Xander haven’t seen each other much lately since Xander has been busy with his business course. Xander says he’ll have his own business and a private jet one day. Mali comes along and Xander explains the situation to him, admitting he’s not sure what business he’s going to have.

At the Lyrik house, Remi is stressing to Kirby that they have to keep Eden away from what’s going on with Cash. He thinks she’ll head over there if she knows so he’ll cancel his session work to stick around. Eden appears; Mackenzie has called her in to work. Remi gets Kirby to walk her in to work, telling her he’ll cancel with the studio and then join them.

At Salt, Abigail is bored and asks Mackenzie for a takeaway coffee. Mackenzie tries to put her off going to a movie in Yabbie Creek. Eden turns up and Mackenzie quickly suggests Eden sit and catch up with Abigail instead of working. Xander is chatting to Rose nearby and Mackenzie asks him to get back behind the bar and serve coffees, even though he hasn’t finished his own. Abigail tells Eden about convincing Levi to get back to work. Back in the street, Cash is waiting outside his house. Remi checks on him and makes sure he’s planning to stay at home before heading off. A car pulls up and Michelle gets out the back. After an awkward moment staring at each other, she thanks Cash and they hug.

At Salt, Mackenzie is looking up business loans. Xander says he’s looked up next week’s roster and he can’t work Thursday because his course is then and Tuesday. Mackenzie initially tries to query it before agreeing. Nearby, Abigail is filling Eden in on her recent dealings with Cash. Remi turns up and offers to buy them coffee and pancakes. Abigail isn’t keen to spend time with him while Eden thinks he’s acting weird.

Cash and Michelle have gone inside. Michelle says she just wanted to get to know his sister better. Cash offers to show her some photos, pushing the album towards her. She notices one of them swimming in a lake as children. Cash says he and Flick grew up in the country and were about five or six then. Michelle picks up on the name.

Eden continues to question Remi who continues to play innocent before saying he took time off work because he’s worried about her and thinks she needs to move on from Cash. Eden sends him away.  Mackenzie notices that Abigail isn’t there anymore. Eden is only bothered that she didn’t say goodbye but Mackenzie insists they have to find her.

Cash asks Michelle if she likes to dance. Michelle admits she’s never found out: Her heart defect affected her lungs, hence her needing both transplanted, and she couldn’t handle physical activity. For the last two years, she’s been on oxygen and in a wheelchair full-time. She notices Cash looking hard at her and realises he’s trying to see something of Felicity in her. She says she wondered if she’d feel different after the transplant but she’s still her, just healthier. Cash accepts that and they decide to go for a walk to the beach.

Mackenzie and Eden come downstairs with Eden wondering why no-one kept her up to date on Abigail. They ask Kirby and Mali if they’ve seen her and they say she wasn’t down the beach. Kirby tells Eden she knows about Abby. Eden goes to look outside. Xander and Dana come in and Mackenzie accuses Xander of not doing his job, even though he points out he was taking the recycling out. Mackenzie goes back upstairs and Mali tells Xander that she’s not just worrying about Abigail going missing but the buyout with Cash…which is the first he’s heard of it.

Upstairs, Mackenzie attempts to make a discreet call to Levi asking if he’s spoken to Abigail. Xander comes up and asks if it’s true, pointing out Mackenzie knew he wanted to buy into the business and be partners and she’s gone behind his back. Mackenzie just says she was going to tell him and has more important things to worry about.

Cash and Michelle walk by the beach. Michelle says it’s been years since she heard waves and she’s going to swim there one day. She admits she’s feeling a bit tired and asks to sit. Nearby, Eden runs into Abigail, who says she took a walk rather than spend time with Remi. Abigail isn’t happy that Eden thought she was taking drugs and walks off. Eden sees Cash with Michelle.

At the surf club, Xander is trying to talk to Mackenzie about Cash changing his mind. Abigail appears and complains about Mackenzie thinking the worst of her. Mackenzie says she promised to keep an eye on her for Levi. Abigail says to tell her next time so she’ll let her know when she goes somewhere. Mackenzie decides to take her home, refusing to continue her conversation with Xander, who complains to Dana.

Eden arrives home and accuses Remi of knowing that Cash had moved on with another woman. Remi admits that she’s not a new girlfriend but the woman who got Flick’s heart and lungs. Across the road, Cash and Michelle arrive back. Michelle says she just needs to build up her strength and hasn’t spoken or walked this much in years. Eden appears and Cash ushers her outside. Eden tells Cash she wants to meet Michelle but Cash refuses to talk to her about it or let her inside, insisting she leave. He goes back inside and admits to Michelle that Eden was Felicity’s best friend.

At Salt, Xander tries to question Mali about when Mackenzie decided all this, since she won’t talk to him. Dana says he’s talking to the wrong person. Xander decides to go and talk to Cash. Meanwhile, Michelle is trying to get Cash to let her see Eden. Cash says Eden doesn’t know about him being in contact with her. Michelle suggests Eden has a right to heal too.
