Levi worries about his sister. Cash wants a heart to heart.
Extended Summary
John and Cash are walking by the beach. Cash is talking nineteen to the dozen, not letting John get a word in, as he debates whether he should contact Michelle or wait for her to come to him and whether she’s well enough to come there after surgery. John says he was in agreement with Cash contacting her through the official channels but isn’t sure about this. Cash ends up walking away, snapping that he’s fine to a passing Remi.
Outside the surf club, Mackenzie chats to Mali about the plan to buy out Cash. Even though he didn’t seem interested in Salt when she spoke to him, she recalls Tane saying Cash had other things going on and isn’t sure what he’ll be like when she next sees him. Levi and Abigail approach, having just got back from talking to the police in the city. Mackenzie approaches them; Abigail is quiet and Levi sends her on ahead upstairs. He tells Mackenzie that Abigail identified Dom, and the sergeant said they had enough to lock him away. However, she didn’t say anything on the way home. He heads up to join her in Salt, with Mackenzie saying she’ll be there after taking care of some business.
John and Remi arrive at the Lyrik house. Remi isn’t sure it’s a big deal. John thinks there must be reasons why donations have to be anonymous, even though he’s not quite sure what. He worries how it will affect Cash, especially if he doesn’t get what he wants from the meeting. Remi offers to talk to him. Across the road, Cash is back staring at his laptop. When he hears a knock on the door, he assumes it’s John but it’s Mackenzie. Cash recalls he told her to do what she wants with Salt. Mackenzie says what she wants is to buy him out, which makes him take notice. She explains she can’t see a version of their partnership that works. Cash wonders if Felicity would want it and Mackenzie says Felicity would trust her to run Salt. Cash agrees to sell for whatever Felicity originally paid. Mackenzie says she’ll get a solicitor to draw up contracts.
In Salt, Kirby is aghast at Mali explaining how he turned down a lot of money but can understand knowing something’s not right for you. At a nearby table, Levi tries to strike up conversation with Abigail. Mali and Kirby stop by the table for awkward greetings before saying the pair can join them later. Levi tries to get Abigail to talk to someone. Mackenzie comes in and asks Mali and Kirby how Levi and Abigail are before telling them about talking to Cash: She’s worried it went a little too well.
Cash is getting out a photo album when Remi arrives with beers. He asks how Cash is after his argument with John. He says John didn’t send him but did tell him what they were talking about. Cash says that Michelle messaged him back within ten minutes of him contacting her and said fresh air is good for her recovery so is coming down there.
Kirby brings drinks to Mali and Abigail. Abigail is surprised Mali is drinking lemonade. He says he doesn’t touch alcohol and manages to have a good time without it. Mackenzie and Levi are out on the balcony. Mackenzie can tell Levi is worried about Abigail. Levi says she still hasn’t addressed her reasons for using.
Remi asks Cash what he’s going to say. Cash thinks he’ll know when he sees her. He asks Remi if he’d do the same thing in his position. Remi says he might if he was trying to bring Felicity back. Cash says he knows that Felicity’s gone, he just wants to see a sign that her death meant something.
Levi is on the phone, saying he won’t be able to come into work tomorrow and doesn’t know when he will. Abgail comes in and asks if he’s ever going back, saying there’s nothing more he can do for her. Levi says he could get her to see a drug and alcohol counsellor. Abigail says she just wants to forget about it and move on. Levi says that doesn’t work if you still remember. Abigail agrees to see the counsellor.
At the surf club, Mackenzie, Kirby and Mali come downstairs. Kirby decides to walk home and congratulates Mackenzie on sorting out Salt. Mackenzie admits to Mali that she still has to find the money to buy out Cash. She also hasn’t told Levi, and Mali comments on being her sounding board. He points out top surgeons earn a lot.
Mackenzie and Mali return home to find Levi still up. Mali attempts to quietly suggest Mackenzie tell him now and gets sent to bed. Levi tells Mackenzie about Abigail agreeing to counselling. Mackenzie starts to talk to him but they’re interrupted by an e-mail from work. Abigail listens in as Levi refuses to do anything about it, saying he has to be there for Abigail.
Next morning, Cash is going for a run on the beach and has flashbacks to Felicity deteriorating and Bree bringing up organ donation. Outside the surf club, Alf and John are loading up equipment while discussing the latest bronze medallion recruits. Alf looks puffed out for a moment but insists he’s all right. Cash runs up nearby, still having flashbacks to discussing the organ donation with Bree and Eden and seeing Felicity off. John comes over and helps him get his breathing under control.
At the farm house, Levi and Mackenzie find Abigail has made breakfast. She tells them to get off to work. Mackenzie says she has to have a shower first and Abigail says she’ll allow it. She insists to Levi that he has to go into work and tells him he’s done babysitting her.
John walks Cash home. Cash is keen to get away from him. Remi comes up and John tells him Cash had a panic attack. Cash says he’s not ready to meet Michelle. However, when he gets a text saying she’s on her way, he refuses to cancel, saying he’s made a commitment. Remi goes home and fills in Kirby, asking her to be with Eden today. Kirby has to go to work. Remi tells her about Abigail’s drug problem and thinks they need to keep Eden away from any more drama with Cash.
Levi, Abigail and Mackenzie are walking to the surf club. Abigail calls back that she’ll be in Salt so they can carry on talking about her, which Levi tries to pretend they weren’t doing even though they were. Mackenzie tells him to go into work and says she’ll keep an eye on Abigail. Meanwhile, Cash has smartened himself up and gets a text from Michelle saying she can’t wait to meet him. He takes down the photo of Felicity from the fridge and looks at it.
