Extended Summary

Justin and Remi run into each other on the beach. Justin asks about Cash and Eden’s engagement party, saying he had something on with Leah and couldn’t come. Remi says it went well and thinks the after-party must have been a success since Eden hasn’t come home. John pulls up in the buggy and asks if they’ve heard from the hospital, saying one of the lifesavers saw Felicity being taken away unconscious in an ambulance. Remi hasn’t got any messages from Eden and wonders if this is why Bree hasn’t come back from work.

At the Diner, Rose asks Leah and Marilyn if they’ve heard from Irene. Leah says they have and Marilyn notes she only left last night. Sensing they’re being coy, Rose says she knows where Irene is: She messaged her and Xander. John and Justin turn up and share the news about Felicity. At the Lyrik house, Remi tries to call both Bree and Eden before grabbing his keys, helmet and jacket and heading out.

At the hospital, Cash wonders why Felicity’s been taken for a second scan. Eden suggests they’re just being thorough. Bree and Levi arrive and tell them and Tane that the scan shows a second bleed. Cash asks if Felicity’s going back into surgery. They explain there’s every indication the second bleed has resulted in brain death and they have a series of tests to do. Cash refuses to listen further. Bree and Levi explain to Eden and Tane that the tests are done by two doctors who have to agree, then they’ll be done a second time to make sure. They head in and commence the tests, with a nurse noting down the results. Eden reminds Cash she brought him clean clothes. Cash snaps at her, then apologises.

Remi arrives and asks Eden if Felicity’s okay. Eden says not really. Bree and Levi finish the first assessment: There has been no sign of brain activity. They head out and inform Cash, Eden and Tane. Cash reminds them they said there had to be a second set of tests. Bree explains she’s waiting for the neurologist to do it with her. Levi offers to explain in more detail but Cash angrily shuts him down, saying all he’s interested in is sitting with Felicity until the second tests are done.

Levi tells the others that the second tests are just because of guidelines: The bleed caused a catastrophic brain injury. Eden thanks Remi for coming but says Cash doesn’t need an audience for what comes next. Tane decides to go too, despite Eden telling him he doesn’t have to. Cash and Eden look on as Bree and the neurologist set up for the second set of tests. Eden can’t face it and says she’ll wait outside. Cash watches in despair as the two doctors fail to get any response for a second time and Felicity fails to breath when the oxygen is turned off.

Bree talks to Cash and Eden, saying they have to talk about what happens next with regards Felicity’s life support. Cash refuses to discuss it. Bree says they don’t have to deal with it right now. Meanwhile, Levi arrives outside the farm house, where Tane has just received a phone call from Eden updating him. He recalls how Felicity was right there talking to him. After Tane has gone inside, Levi tries calling Abigail again, saying he doesn’t care about the wallet, he just needs to hear her voice.

Bree joins Eden, pointing out that Eden’s lost a friend as well. Eden thinks Cash is the most important thing right now. She asks Bree about the life support. Bree says they’ll give Cash as long as they can but Felicity can’t stay on the machines forever. Eden finds Cash by Felicity’s bedside, begging her to wake up. Later, Remi is at the Lyrik house when Bree turns up. He hugs her as she notes some days she hates her job.

Outside the surf club, John thanks Rose for attending. Justin comes along as John explains someone stole the petty cash from the surf club: $480. Levi listens in as John notes it must have happened during Cash and Eden’s engagement party: He doesn’t suspect anyone particularly but thinks it must have been one of the people coming in and out. Justin reminds him that all Cash and Eden’s guests were locals who support the club.

Later, John and Justin are walking in a park area. John berates himself for not locking up the money. Justin reminds him that he’d just dropped Irene off at rehab and thinks Alf will understand his priority was his friend. Justin gets a call from Remi and tells John about the hospital wanting Cash to turn off Felicity’s life support.

At the surf club, Levi leaves another message for Abigail, saying that if she took the money, she needs to bring it back. Rose comes up behind him as he’s saying he hopes she wouldn’t stoop that low, and asks him if everything’s all right.
