A Summer Bay favourite fights for their life. Cash is left in the dark.
Extended Summary
As the ambulance speeds towards the hospital, Bree is preparing the staff. The paramedic brings Felicity in and Bree gives the order to alert neuro. Cash, Eden and Tane arrive, with Cash refusing an instruction to stay back. Bree does a quick examination and orders Felicity sent for an urgent brain CT. Back at Salt, Xander wonders if they missed any signs that something was wrong. Dana decides to head to the hospital to see if she can help.
Levi is attempting to call Abigail, wanting to know what’s going on. Mackenzie hands him a glass of wine and he notes there was about $200 in the wallet. He admits he hasn’t had much to do with Abigail since he moved out of home ten years ago. He decides to call Eden. Eden gets the call at the hospital but turns her phone off. Dana turns up and offers to help find something out. At that moment, Bree arrives and says Felicity has been taken straight into surgery from imaging. She tells them to sit down (Cash, Eden and Tane do, while Dana hovers nearby). She says Felicity has had a brain aneurysm and the neurosurgeons are trying to clip the bleed.
Levi is making another phone call. He tells Mackenzie that he got the number of Abigail’s share house from their mum but found she moved out weeks ago: The people there don’t know where she’s living. He decides not to worry their mum until they hear more. At the hospital, Bree tells Cash, Eden and Tane that it’s so far so good, and gives Cash Felicity’s jewellery. Cash asks if she’s going to die. Bree says it’s one possibility and not the only one they should prepare for: There’s a possibility of irreversible brain damage. Tane walks away without comment, going to the lift and repeatedly pressing the button for ground floor, even after the lift doors have closed, before punching the lift wall in frustration.
Dana calls Xander, who is still at Salt, and tells him about the brain aneurysm and that Felicity’s still in surgery. Xander notes it’s no wonder they didn’t spot anything. Dana wants to wait until Felicity’s out of surgery. Xander says to come and crash at his when she’s done. At the farm house, Levi is frustrated that Eden isn’t answering and tells Mackenzie that he didn’t think Abby was a thief. Tane turns up and Mackenzie initially thinks he was at an after-party until she registers his mood. He tells them about the aneurysm, Felicity being in surgery and Bree saying she might not make it. Mackenzie thinks he should be at the hospital but Tane says she’s not his wife anymore and he doesn’t belong there.
Eden is wondering where Tane went, when Bree and Dana join her and Cash. Bree says Felicity’s in recovery and they’ve stopped the bleed but she’s not out of the woods yet. She says they won’t know about brain damage until she wakes up but it’s a positive first step. Eden quietly asks Dana if Felicity will be all right and Dana repeats Bree’s comment about it being a positive first step. Bree leads Cash and Eden to where Felicity is hooked up to monitors. Cash takes Felicity’s hand.
Next morning, Tane is outside the house and Mackenzie and Levi join him. Tane says Eden messaged him to say Felicity’s stable and in recovery. Mackenzie is pleased. Levi offers to give Tane a lift in but Tane declines so Levi says he’ll call by ICU and check on her. After he’s gone, Mackenzie asks Tane if someone made him feel like he didn’t belong. Tane says it was his decision: He can’t be there in the way he wants to be and still loves her. Mackenzie thinks he should be there.
Xander and Dana are going for a walk, having not had much sleep. Dana wants to go back to the hospital. Xander thinks she’s feeling guilty after the way she reacted to Tane and Felicity and asks if it would be a big deal if they got back together. Dana says it would break Harper’s heart. Xander realises Tane is the father of her baby.
Cash joins Eden in the corridor. She suggests he go home to rest, before saying she’ll go home and get some clean clothes. As she’s leaving, she bumps into Levi and they exchange awkward small talk. Levi offers to drive Eden home and, after a moment’s hesitation, she accepts. Cash joins Bree by Felicity’s bedside and she tells him there’s no change. As they’re talking, alarms start going off and Cash is ushered out as staff rush around Felicity. In the corridor, Cash runs into Tane and tells him there’s been a complication.
Eden (changed into clean clothes) and Levi are outside the surf club. Levi wonders if Eden met Felicity through Cash or the other way round. Eden recalls how Felicity worked at the club they played and they hit it off straightaway, with Cash coming later. Eden recalls Levi left her voice messages and Levi admits it was to do with Abigail, explaining how she disappeared with his wallet and how she’s moved out of her share house. Eden says she thought Abby was at uni living her best life. She leaves her a message.
Cash and Tane are still waiting for news. Eden and Levi arrive and get filled in. Tane asks Levi to find out what’s going on. Levi finds Bree tending to what she thinks is a secondary bleed; she says the pupils are fixed and dilated and Felicity didn’t breathe on her own. Levi checks her reflexes and gets nothing. Subdued, Bree says she’ll arrange a CT angiogram.
