Extended Summary

Rose tries to console Kirby, saying she thought she and Theo were solid. Kirby says they were until recently. She realises she’s interrupted Rose and Mali but neither of them mind. Rose tells Mali they’ll continue their discussion later. Mali heads downstairs where he sees that Irene’s back. He jokingly asks what happened to his postcard while she asks what she missed.

Remi drags Eden out of bed, saying they’re having a band meeting. Theo turns up and asks if Kirby’s coming. Remi says he thought she’d be with Theo and asks him to text her. Remi says he has an idea to up their game. Bree arrives with the coffees and goes to the bedroom to do work e-mails. Theo offers to go and get takeaway while Eden goes to get changed. Remi checks on Bree in the bedroom and apologises for taking so long. He says Mercedes called him back but he hasn’t told the others she’s joining them yet. Eden enters with Remi’s phone and asks why Mercedes Da Silva is texting him.

Irene and Mali chat about what happened with Elandra. He mentions Kirby interrupting him and Rose which Irene says explains why she bailed on her shift. Mali confirms he’s keen on Rose again. Later, Rose checks in with Mali at the surf club before joining Kirby for a game of pool. Theo appears with the pizza and asks if Kirby got his messages about the band meeting. Kirby says she did but doesn’t show any interest in attending.

Remi chases Eden through a park area. Eden says she can’t believe he called Mercedes knowing how they feel about her. Remi convinces her to come back. They go back to Theo and Bree, the latter saying she’s going for a walk. Eden tells Theo about Remi’s plan. Theo admits he doesn’t think Kirby’s coming, explaining that they broke up.

At the surf club, Kirby continues to play with Rose and complains about men. She says she thought Bob cared about her but he only cared about himself. Meeting Theo changed things, but it turns out even the good ones treat you like this. She wonders why they put themselves through it, prompting Rose to look over Mali. Later, Kirby tries to get Rose to go upstairs for a drink. Rose isn’t keen on Kirby ending up a mess. Kirby realises Rose is keen on Mali again and advises her against it, saying she could end up like her. Eden turns up and quickly agrees to have cocktails with Kirby.

Very soon after, Kirby is somewhat the worse for wear but not showing any interest in slowing down or going home, especially since Theo’s likely to be there. She announces she’s more important than the band. Eden admits this wasn’t a good idea and Rose offers to stay and keep an eye on Kirby. Mali comes in and asks to join them but Kirby rudely accuses him of judging Rose and leading her on. Mali retreats.

Back at the Lyrik house, Theo explains about how he and Kirby have been arguing about things lately and admits this is what Remi and Eden were afraid of when they got together. He mentions Andrew; Remi thought all that was sorted and he was back with his mother. Theo says it’s a long story. Eden turns up and admits Kirby isn’t coming. Theo decides to go home while Remi goes to join Bree in the bedroom and apologises for today.

Rose tries to manoeuvre Kirby down the stairs from Salt. Mali offers to help out. Kirby tries to send him away again, but Rose says either Mali helps them or she sends Kirby home. The two of them help Kirby up to the Diner flat. Rose says Kirby can sleep in her room, steering her away from Xander’s. She tells Mali she’ll talk to him after she’s sorted out Kirby.

Next morning, Theo meets up with Eden by the beach. Eden admits Kirby stayed with Rose and says they’ll make it work despite the break-up. While Theo is showering, Mercedes turns up on a motorbike. Theo comments her leathers aren’t what people normally wear to the beach. Mercedes says she’s looking for Remi. Meanwhile, Mali wakes up on the couch and apologises to Rose for falling asleep. Rose admits she was ages with Kirby. Mali says Elandra was right that they’re good together and goes to kiss her, but Rose pulls away, saying it’s not what she wants anymore.

Bree gives Remi a lecture on the hypothalamus and suggests they go to a conference about it in the city. Remi realises she’s making a point but checks she’ll still come to his gigs. Theo turns up with Mercedes, who Remi greets with a hug. Bree doesn’t look too pleased.
