Extended Summary
Theo arrives at the Lyrik house and expresses his appreciation at Kirby being dressed up for the party, before noting TAFE was nuts. They are both slightly confused as to why they’re going to the same party but Kirby says it’s good not to be on opposing teams. She kisses him and sends him to have a shower. At the club, Eden is standing despondently on her own. Felicity tries to encourage her to talk to Cash and gets them a drink. Cash tells Nikau he’s going to go but Nikau insists he stay. Theo and Kirby turn up to be greeted by first Mackenzie and then Felicity. Tane tells Felicity he’s having fun but isn’t sure about Cash and Eden.
At the Diner, Marilyn and Roo go over the profits from the fundraiser, including a $500 pledge from the burger bar, while Alf and Leah discuss how nice it is to help. Roo announces they’ve raised $35,322. She, Alf and Leah are all pleased but Marilyn reminds them they needed $40,000 to buy the food truck. Roo thinks it’s no big deal and Alf and Leah agree. Marilyn still seems despondent but claims to just be overwhelmed.
Kirby finds Eden standing on her own and encourages her to have fun. Mackenzie chats to Cash and Nikau, asking if Nikau arranged everything. Nikau protests that Felicity gatecrashed but Mackenzie says Tane can still have a good time. She drags Nikau onto the dance floor. Tane, Felicity and Theo follow them and Kirby drags Eden to join them, leaving Cash looking on.
Alf, Marilyn and Roo arrive back at the house with Roo trying to argue that it’s still a good amount of money. Marilyn says it’s been a long day and heads inside. Alf reminds Roo that Marilyn was keen to hit the target and it’s understandable she’s disappointed. Roo wants to talk to her but Alf says he’ll do it in the morning.
Eden is drunk but cheery as she comments on Felicity getting married. Tane and Felicity recall the night they first met and his reaction to Cash being a cop. Eden clambers on stage and calls for Cash to dance with her. Cash calls back absolutely not. Felicity tries to encourage him but then Eden falls off the stage. Cash rushes to her side and helps her away. Felicity thinks him being her knight in shining armour isn’t a bad outcome. Later, Mackenzie congratulates Nikau while Cash tries to get Eden to drink water, threatening to arrest a waiter if he serves her alcohol. He insists on taking her home, which Felicity still thinks is a positive outcome.
Cash escorts Eden home. She points out she hasn’t invited him in but Cash refuses to leave her and says he’s going to make her a coffee. Eden sarcastically says to do whatever he wants and goes to have a shower, before leaning wearily against the bathroom door. Later, Cash calls out, asking if Eden’s okay. He goes to her room and finds her asleep on the bed in a dressing gown, covering her with the duvet. Eden wakes up and sleepily tells Cash she loves every part of him before dropping off again.
Back at the club, Felicity continues to rave about Cash looking after Eden. Nikau starts a speech, saying he has a hard time getting his head around Tane getting married given the succession of hot women he brought home. Tane warns him there might not be a wedding if he carries on and Nikau says he wasn’t expecting Felicity to be there. Becoming more serious, he says Ari and Mikaere would be proud of Tane and is glad to have Felicity in the family. They drink a toast. Theo notices Kirby looking teary.
Later, Mackenzie brings Tane, Felicity, Theo, Kirby and Nikau to Salt, saying she’ll get some coffee and food. Kirby congratulates Nikau on his speech and gushes over Tane and Felicity. She talks about having a big family, which Felicity was aware of and Theo wasn’t. Kirby talks about her father making a speech at her wedding and Felicity quips she knows where to throw the bouquet. Theo looks uncomfortable.
Cash is still sat by Eden’s side until Theo and Kirby arrive back. He warns that she’ll have a sore head in the morning and Kirby says she’s had lots of experience looking after a hungover Eden. Cash leaves and Theo tells Kirby he’s tired, heading straight to bed. Next morning, Mackenzie, Nikau, Tane and Felicity are sat on the beach. Mackenzie notes it’s been a long time since she pulled an all-nighter. Nikau is still worried the night didn’t go as planned but Tane says he had a good time and Felicity jokingly calls Nikau “nephew”. Nikau leaves and Mackenzie goes with him. Felicity checks Tane’s okay with moving the wedding from the beach.
Felicity and Tane arrive back at the house. Felicity cheerily asks Cash about Eden. Cash accuses Felicity of being the reason Eden wrote herself off, saying Felicity cancelled everything Eden planned and forced them into a situation neither of them were comfortable with. Felicity says she wanted them to be happy and Cash says she can’t walk over people. He leaves and Felicity tells Tane not to say anything.
Across the road, Kirby checks on Eden who tells her to turn off the light. Kirby says it’s the sun. Eden recalls Cash being there. Kirby asks if Eden’s ready for band practice, before confirming she’s joking since Remi is still MIA anyway. Leaving Eden to “die in peace”, Kirby finds Theo dressed for work, even though he was meant to have the day off. Theo claims Justin called him in. Kirby wonders if she did something to upset him but Theo denies it.
Marilyn tries to leave the house in a faux cheery manner but Alf stops her and asks about her being disappointed last night. Marilyn says she failed: This all started because she let her daughter down and now she’s let people down again. Alf says she can’t think like that but Marilyn says this time she’s going to fight.
Leah turns up at the garage and flirtatiously asks what she’s going to get in exchange for coffee, only to be left embarrassed when she realises it’s Theo there: Justin has gone to Yabbie Creek for parts. She asks what happened to Theo’s day off and he says he changed his mind. He asks her why she doesn’t want to marry Justin. Leah says she doesn’t want to marry anyone and asks if this is about Kirby. Theo denies it.
