Extended Summary

Felicity remains locked in a cell, still complaining bitterly. Devlin offers her a cup of coffee and says she doesn’t know who Tane is. Felicity threatens to sue for false imprisonment and go to the papers. Near the bikies’ hideout, an ambulance arrives as Marty’s body is covered up and the area taped off. Rose is applying pressure to Cash’s wounds as Xander arrives. Rose says he’s been shot in the chest and abdomen and she can’t stop the bleeding. Xander gives her further directions.

Devlin lets Felicity out of the cell just as Tane and Nikau are brought in, handcuffed. Tane tells Felicity about Cash being shot. He cuts the conversation short as Tex and the others are brought in. Tane and Nikau are taken into the interview room. Rose watches as Cash is loaded into the ambulance. Shortly after they start off, he deteriorates and Xander starts giving CPR.

A new doctor, Bree Cameron, greets Xander at the hospital: He says Cash has circulation again but is still unstable. Felicity arrive, demanding to see him. Bree manages to calm her and convince her to give them space to treat him. Meanwhile, Rose arrives back at the police station. Tex greets her mockingly and asks how her partner is. Rose says he’s alive, unlike Tex’s. Tex says you win some and lose some but his expression hardens as she walks away. In the interview room, Tane is having a wire removed. Nikau asks why Tane didn’t tell him he was working for the police. Rose joins them and says Felicity’s at the hospital and Cash is touch and go. She convinces Tane to stay there, since if he leaves Tex will know he’s working with them.

Bree gives instructions on how to treat Cash. Hearing Felicity arguing with a nurse, Bree goes to see her and tells her they’re taking Cash to surgery. She lets Felicity in to see him first. At the Diner, Irene confirms to Alf that Jasmine isn’t coming back, noting that being there with the Shaws brought up things she thought she’d moved on from. She adds that she accepts being there is what’s best for her, but Cash has barely said a word since they went. Alf mentions Jasmine was the main reason Rose and Xander came to the Bay. Irene gets a call from Rose about Cash being shot. Alf says he’ll call Marilyn. Irene arrives at the hospital just as Cash is being brought past. Xander tells her that Rose did everything right. He asks about Jasmine and Irene confirms she’s not coming back.

Rose tells Tane that she sent Irene to be with Felicity. Tane and Nikau are handcuffed again and led through to the cells. Tane and Tex snipe at each other, with Tex suggesting it was just unlucky that Tane was there. Rose takes Tex through to the interview room. She gets a text from Xander about Cash being in surgery and asks for a second. She heads to the locker room and notices Cash’s blood on her shirt, ripping it off. She beats the locker in frustration, crying and hyperventilating. Later, she escorts Tex to the cell and says she just used him to get someone else out of her head. Tex asks how Cash is, saying he saw the way Rose looked at him and if he dies it’ll be because she interfered.

Irene asks Felicity if she’s heard any news. Bree returns and tells Felicity that Cash is still critical but his condition’s stable. Rose arrives in time to overhear part of it. She tells Felicity that Tane and Nikau are at the station and encourages her to go and see them. Irene says she’ll stay with Cash and Felicity gives her her number. Irene gives Rose a coffee before heading in. Meanwhile, Xander meets with Bree, commenting on her tough first day. Bree comments on how she’s worried she might have given Felicity false hope. Xander says Cash is a friend and he appreciates the hope.

Tane and Nikau are taken to the interview room to see Felicity. She tells them Cash is out of surgery and they think he’ll be okay, then asks what’s going on with them. Nikau says Tane’s been helping Rose take down Tex and Tane explains about wearing a wire. Nikau apologises for messing up but Tane says the police would have gone in either way. Felicity agrees what happened to Cash wasn’t his fault. Tane assures her everything’s over.

Rose asks Bree for more information on Cash. Bree says if he makes it through the next couple of days, it’ll be a long recovery, but he’s young, strong and fit. Xander appears as Rose says she needs to get out of there. They go for a walk on the beach. Rose says Cash shouldn’t have been there and she should have done something about him not being in the best head space. Xander convinces her to come back to the hospital, saying they have to be there for Cash with Jasmine gone.

Irene emerges from Cash’s room and tells Xander and Rose there’s no change. Rose asks to go in and sit with him. Irene and Xander move off and Rose cautiously takes Cash’s hand as Bree notes it’s not easy to see someone you care about like this. Cash suddenly arrests and Rose is ushered out as the crash team hurry in. Rose, Irene and Xander watch from the window as they try to revive him.
