Extended Summary

Jasmine and Xander walk along the beach with her bigging up Summer Bay to him. Xander says they have beaches in the city as well and Jasmine replies that they don’t have people stopping to say hello. Logan greets them and Xander accuses Jasmine of setting it up. Jasmine introduces them and says they might be working together. Xander asks if Logan’s a nurse too and Logan says he doesn’t work that hard. Jasmine explains he’s the Head of the ED. At the police station, Cash asks Rose if she’s moving there because of Jasmine trying to get Xander to take a job. Rose claims she wants a change of pace and reminds her he told her to get to know Jasmine. Cash realises Rose hasn’t told Xander or Jasmine. Rose says there’s nothing to tell them yet and gets Cash to keep quiet as well, before reminding him he promised her a tour.

Logan and Irene run into each other near the beach. She asks if he and Mackenzie have been notified about renovations to the building. Logan says they have but it won’t affect them. Irene says one of the Diner entrances will be blocked off. They notice Dimitri having a rant on the phone at Cassandra, claiming Leah and Justin have brainwashed Theo and destroyed their family, then accusing Cassandra of abandoning them, which gets her to hang up. Logan notes he seems to be spoiling for a fight. At the surf club, Leah gets Theo a drink and wonders if he wants to go for a walk again. Theo has mixed feelings about his run-in with Dimitri. Leah tells him to concentrate on the good things in his life. She gets a call from Irene letting her know about Dimitri’s behaviour, so phones Justin. Lying on the floor of the garage, Justin manages to answer the call but passes out without saying anything.

Rose is surprised at how few cells they have, asking what happens if there’s a riot and multiple arrests. Cash says it’s a small town, but if it did happen, they could send them to Reefton Lakes. Rose says she and Xander need to be together after their father died, although she’s not so sure Xander needs her now he has Jasmine. She heads to the caravan park and finds Jasmine and Xander there. Jasmine says they’d have invited her to join them if they knew where she was but Rose is a bit snippy about Jasmine suggesting she might feel left out. She suggests they go for lunch. Jasmine says they’ve already arranged to meet Cash at the Diner. Rose doesn’t seem too happy that they already had it planned out.

Leah and Theo arrive at the Diner and find Justin. Leah tells Theo to call for an ambulance. Justin says Dimitri did it. The two of them are with him as he’s rushed into hospital, where Logan receives him. On hearing he’s been assaulted, Logan wants to call the police but Justin says not to and Leah says it’s complicated. Justin starts fitting. Dimitri is now leaving a ranting phone message for Theo insisting they’re leaving. Cash comes past in uniform, asking if anything’s up, and Dimitri tries his best to act casual.

At the Diner, Irene gives Jasmine, Xander and Rose the menus. Rose says Xander’s never been big on burgers and gets surly on learning Jasmine and Xander both like fish and chips. Cash appears but is just getting takeaway. Meanwhile, Justin is brought back to the ED. Logan says the CT showed mild swelling and the fitting was just down to concussion. Theo notices a missed call from Dimitri and walks away. Logan says the police are there and thinks the ambulance called them, but Justin says he’s not up to talking to them. After Logan’s gone, Leah says Justin shouldn’t stay quiet just because it’s her brother. Justin says he’s doing it for Theo as well. They wonder where he is.

Theo meets up with Dimitri by his car. Dimitri just wants Theo to come with him and dismisses Theo’s revelation that Justin is in hospital, saying it’ll teach him not to interfere. Theo says Justin’s a better person than him and he won’t let him hurt his family. Dimitri tries to force Theo into the car and Cash steps in. Dimitri tries to call it a family matter but Cash takes them both to the station, saying he’ll talk to them separately. He sends Theo into the interview room, asking another officer to get Dimitri a drink.

Xander, Rose and Jasmine finish their meal. Rose and Jasmine both want to pay: Rose says Jasmine’s their guest and Jasmine says she and Xander had plans first. Xander says he’ll pay and tells Irene his sister’s being competitive. Irene says Jasmine doesn’t back down and Xander says he was talking about Rose. Irene says it must run in the family. Xander and Rose head back to the caravan park with Rose calling Jasmine needy. Xander challenges her to a volleyball game. She goes to get changed and he gets his phone out.

Cash tells Theo he’s not in any trouble but things were obviously heated with his dad. He would like to help if he can and will listen when Theo’s ready. At the hospital, Logan tells Justin he’ll be discharged tonight but got off lucky and the person who did it could do it to someone else. He leaves the police’s details. Leah says someone has to stop Dimtri and, if Justin and Theo won’t go to the police, she will.

Rose and Jasmine run into each other at the caravan park. They both think they’re playing Xander but he says he’s just going to be umpire between them, like he was at lunch. He manages to get their competitive spirit worked up enough until they agree. They start playing and Xander awards Jasmine a point, despite Rose insisting it was out. Rose quickly wins the next point. Roo passes by and wryly comments to Xander on the quality family time. The pair get a volley going until Rose wins another point.

Cash and Theo leave the interview room and Cash tells Dimitri that Theo didn’t say anything. Leah appears and says she’s there to report Dimitri for assaulting Justin. Dimitri insists he was defending himself and has never done anything like this before, telling Cash to run a check. Theo says that’s a lie: He’s done it to him.
