Extended Summary

Jasmine chases Taylor out of the surf club and gives her her phone, which she left behind. Taylor says she had a falling out with Angelo but doesn’t give any details. She tries to phone Angelo, who is at the police station and ignores her call. Colby brings Nikau, Tane, Ari, Paul and Leon into the station, saying it’s their fault for not giving him answers. All of them downplay the fight, with Tane claiming he was training for a martial arts competition while Paul refuses to even give his name, and Colby separates the two groups. Angelo makes a dig about Colby doing proper police work for once. Nikau is unhappy about the possibility of missing his flight. Ari tells a taunting Paul that they all want the same thing.

At the Diner, Alf is on the phone, apparently to Ryder telling him he did the right thing. Irene asks about Martha and Alf says she’s still digging her heels in. Irene expresses bewilderment that two stubborn people could get married twice. Meanwhile, Bella and Mackenzie turn up at the police station. Both try to get Colby to let the Paratas go, with Bella worried about her plans and Mackenzie saying the others were trespassing. Bella accuses Colby of trying to stop her leaving but Colby points out he was responding to a call. The two women leave, passing Taylor. Colby says he called her. Taylor tells him to stop and she’s not here for him. She goes to Angelo’s office and he closes the door after her.

Mackenzie and Bella walk back along the beach. Bella complains about Mackenzie inviting Colby to her farewell and Mackenzie wonders why she didn’t tell Colby she was leaving. She also suggests that the police turning up stopped Nikau being hurt and Tane’s the one really to blame. They run into Alf, who says Ryder was worried. Bella complains that Ryder’s ruined everything and storms up to the flat. Mackenzie apologises. Up in the flat, Mackenzie reminds Bella that once she didn’t want to let Colby out of her sight and wonders why she’s avoiding him. Bella tells her about Colby’s affair with Taylor and that Angelo knows.

Angelo and Taylor have retired to Salt. Taylor says she knows Angelo’s hurt and Angelo replies that he’s more angry. He says he’s always been faithful to her and she knows he throws himself into cases. He asks her to make a statement against Colby. Taylor is flabberghasted. Angelo follows her outside, asking her to choose a side. Taylor says both Colby and Angelo have used her: When he found out about the affair, he bugged her necklace instead of talking to her. She says he’s as bad as Colby but Angelo retorts that he didn’t kill and bury his stepfather.

Colby is interrogating Ari, who claims that Leon Caruthers caught Tane with his girlfriend. Colby doubts it was about that and Ari pointedly asks him if he’s never got into a fight over a girl. Colby asks why Bella’s going to New Zealand with Nikau and Ari suggests she’s trying to get away from Colby, saying he needs to let them all go. Angelo returns and criticises Colby for not wrapping things up yet. Colby says they work at their own pace and asks about Angelo’s own case. Angelo claims to be on the verge of a breakthrough. Colby is unimpressed. Ari loudly reveals what he told Colby, and Tane and Leon make a show of exchanging apologies. Colby lets them all go, with Paul making it clear to the Paratas that it’s not over.

At the Diner, Jasmine tells Irene her plans for Grace’s first birthday, saying she’s thinking of asking Tori if she can plant a tree in the Morgans’ garden. She notes she can’t wait to have a baby of her own. Irene says she needs a willing male first but Jasmine points out Tori didn’t. Irene cautions her about bringing up a baby on her own but Jasmine wants to find a donor. She finds Taylor near the beach and asks how it went with Angelo. Taylor isn’t keen to talk but Jasmine won’t take no for an answer.

Mackenzie and Bella arrive at the Parata house and Mackenzie comments on no charges being laid. Tane confirms that he’s been dealing with Leon and only met Paul when he picked up the van. Ari notes Paul seems higher up the food chain and urges Bella and Nikau to still leave town. Tane thanks Ari for helping. Down on the beach, Taylor considers throwing her wedding ring in the sea. She asks Jasmine what it was like for her being married to a cop and Jasmine notes he just wanted to help people. Taylor isn’t sure why she’s still in Summer Bay: She came there for Angelo and doesn’t know anyone else. Jasmine says she knows her and Colby, who she notes has never let her down. Taylor points out he’s being investigated for murder but Jasmine thinks that’s rubbish and he’d never hurt Bella.

Jasmine goes to the Diner and tells Irene she’s found a donor. Irene isn’t very enthusiastic as Jasmine says it’s someone kind, loyal, responsible and good-looking. Irene worries she’s been on a dating app and Jasmine says it’s a friend she trusts. Irene worries that she knows who it is: Cut to Colby walking into Salt. He sees Angelo and has a dig about him eating alone. Angelo says it’s none of his business. Colby says if Taylor was his wife, he wouldn’t have let her go, and if Angelo had something on him he’d have used it. Angelo asks if he knows what happened to Taylor’s necklace. Colby claims he doesn’t, but says it won’t help Angelo’s marriage or his case.

Colby goes back to the flat where Bella mocks his failure with the Paratas, saying Ari told them what he said. Colby insists soon Angelo will close the case and they can get back to normal, before belatedly realising she’s packing. He says she was reckless telling Nikau and Bella retorts that he was for having an affair with Taylor. Colby tries to tell her to stop but she says she’s going and he can’t stop her. Next morning, Taylor turns up at the police station and notes Angelo didn’t go home. Angelo is surprised she noticed and concludes she’s chosen a side and it’s not him. He says he has something to do and invites her along.

At the Diner, Irene is hugging Bella goodbye as Mackenzie watches. Colby enters and is unhappy that Mackenzie’s taking Bella to the airport but Bella says she’s going either way. Jasmine comes in and invites Colby to have dinner with her, saying she’s a proposal for him. Angelo and Taylor arrive and police officers block both exits. Angelo arrests a protesting Colby for Ross’ murder.
