Extended Summary

Reg, Phil and the other hostage takers are escorted to a police van. Jay tries to protest to McCarthy, saying he was protecting Jasmine, but McCarthy retorts that he knows who Jay is and will make sure that all the crims in prison with him know he’s a cop. John, Willow and Ziggy are fretting until Marilyn and Dean appear. John rushes to hug Marilyn. Willow asks about Alex, and Dean says it was chaos in there. They ask who was hurt. Marilyn says Mason tried to help Bella, and Dean says he didn’t make it. Willow rushes towards the hospital while Ziggy hugs Dean.

Inside, Colby asks Alex what Bella took. Alex says they don’t know, since Bella just grabbed them at random from a trolley. She supervises Bella being taken away. Jasmine is trying to call Robbo. Colby recalls he was carrying out an interrogation and says he’ll get someone to escort her home. He approaches Mackenzie and asks her what happened. Mackenzie says she brought Bella there and she just kept getting worse. At the Morgan house, Tori is playing with Grace while Justin tries to get her to rest. McCarthy comes to the door and tells them about Mason being caught up in the situation at the hospital. He says that Mason tried to help one of the patients, one of the hostage takers shot him and he died at the scene.

Back at the hospital, Mackenzie is giving a statement. Alex appears and gets a hug from Willow. She tells Colby that Bella’s responding well but will have to be kept in overnight, and he can go and see her. Bella tells Colby she didn’t expect the pills to make her that sick. Colby asks why she did it. Bella says she doesn’t understand half the things she does but notes that if she loses Colby, she’s got no-one, and he only pays attention to her when she’s sick.

Not too far away, Willow tries to get Alex to come home and eventually insists she’ll stay there as long as Alex does. An ambulance crew arrive with a patient. Alex tries to protest that they’re closed on a code black but the ambulance officer says he won’t last otherwise so Alex agrees, calling other staff over. The ambulance officer says it was a car accident: He has a penetrating chest wound and the driver died at the scene. It’s only then that Alex realises it’s Robbo. Shortly after, Jasmine and Irene come rushing in, in time to see Robbo being taken to theatre.

On the balcony at Salt, Ben, Maggie, Ziggy and Dean drink a toast to Mason. They worry about the Morgans and if they should check on Justin. Maggie hints to Ben that they should give the others space to talk. Ziggy tells Dean what he did was insane. Dean says cops always mess up. She asks if he heard her message. Dean notes she called him a dumb idiot in it and Ziggy says she said lots of nice stuff too. She insists it was only a kiss and she put a stop to it. Dean wants to go and see Bella. Ziggy asks if they’re going to be all right but Dean isn’t sure.

At the Palmer house, Marilyn joins John after having had a wash. She has changed into a robe and isn’t sure what to do about the blood on her dress, telling him to take it away. She is upset about Mason and recalls that she only went there to get the memory book for Tori and didn’t manage it. John suggests Tori has other things to think about but Marilyn thinks it’s even more important now. John says they’ll go and see the Morgans in the morning.

Colby and Mackenzie are sat by a sleeping Bella. Colby thanks Mackenzie for saving her but Mackenzie tells him Bella needs proper help. Dean arrives and Mackenzie thanks him and Colby for saving them, saying she’s glad to have a brother. Dean jovially asks Colby if he’ll be in trouble with his cop bosses and Colby comments it’s nothing new.

Next morning. Ben and Ziggy rejoin Maggie after a surf. Ben says Ziggy was in a world of her own. Ziggy says she wanted to be honest with Dean after all the lies with Brody but she’s not sure it helped. Seeing Dean approach, Ben suggests this is the time to find out. He and Maggie leave them to it. Dean tries asking about the surf but Ziggy isn’t keen on small talk. Dean believes her about what happened but says Ziggy gave up on them, even if it was just for a moment. Ziggy assures him she doesn’t have any doubts. They kiss and hug.

Willow, Jasmine and a sleeping Irene are waiting for news at the hospital. Alex appears and says that Robbo had serious injuries: They’ve controlled some of the bleeds but had to pack his abdomen. Despite her trying to point out that he’s in a critical condition, all Jasmine hears is that he made it. She rushes to Robbo’s side as he’s wheeled through. Alex quietly tells Irene and Willow that she doesn’t know how Robbo is still alive. Watching the couple together, Irene says she thinks she does.

At the Morgan house, Tori has the phone to her ear but puts it down again, telling Justin they can’t tell Brody and Raffy about Mason on the phone: They need to go and tell them in person. Justin says he’ll book the flights. Tori laments that this is how they’ll first meet Grace. John and Marilyn arrive. Marilyn is sorry she didn’t get the book and Tori is sorry she sent Marilyn there. They note Mason kept everyone calm and died a hero. John wonders if Raffy knows and they explain the plan to tell her in person. John asks if they know about Robbo.

Robbo wakes up with Jasmine by his side. She tells him he was in an accident. Robbo asks about Scott and she shakes her head. He apologises he couldn’t get to her and check she’s okay. He says he wants to look at her. Not too far away, Colby tells Bella she should enjoy the rest. Mackenzie turns up, saying she was going to get some magazines. Bella says she couldn’t look at them right now and thanks Mackenzie for saving her life.

Jasmine shows Tori, Justin and Grace in to see Robbo. Alex pops in and Jasmine says he’s having breakthrough pain, suggesting they increase the dosage. Robbo asks to see Grace, and Tori brings her over. Justin suggests Tori and Grace stay and he go to Melbourne alone. Jasmine explains that Mason died. Robbo tells Tori not to change her plans. At the Diner, Willow and Alex have come for a coffee (Irene, Ben and Maggie are present too). Alex is eager to get away, saying it’s how she copes. Willow says she was thinking about Alex all the time she was in there and Alex says Willow was what kept her going.

Jasmine checks Robbo’s comfortable, saying she’ll have to let his parents know. Robbo says she’s beautiful and tells her she and Grace are safe. He asks her to get some things from home. Jasmine is surprised he wants her to go right now but agrees. Robbo says he loves her and Jasmine reciprocates. After she’s gone, Robbo winces in pain and sobs.
