Extended Summary

Martha and Hugo try to explain to Tony that they were just talking but Tony doesn’t believe them and storms off. Martha is appauled with what’s happened and retreats back to the farm. Rachel admits to Tony that Hugo and Martha have feelings for one another, and the following day he is still pre-occupied during a football training session. Martha is confused and doesn’t know what to do, and Rachel advises her just to be honest with Tony about the situation. Tony talks over his unease at the thought of Martha and Hugo hooking up with Alf, who points out that the main thing is that Martha be happy. Tony meets up with Martha and Hugo and they explain everything that’s happened and assure him they weren’t going behind his back – and he gives his blessing to a relationship between them. Hugo is overjoyed and thinks maybe a relationship can start with Martha but Martha still doesn’t feel right about seeing someone so soon after Jack’s death.

Ruby tells Charlie that she and Xavier want to have sex together. Charlie is opposed but Ruby says they’re doing it anyway. Charlie asks Hugo to say something to Xavier about this but Hugo refuses – as long as they’re safe and responsible, there’s not reason to stop them. Ruby finds out about this and is even more furious at Charlie. Hugo does end up talking to Xavier about it and Xavier assures his brother they will take precautions. Charlie buys Ruby a dress for her party as a peace offering then tries to broach the subject again but Ruby’s not moving – she is going to have sex with Xavier whether Charlie likes it or not.

Aden’s had no luck finding work and he’s worried about not being able to pay for Belle’s ring, and cannot even get extra shifts at the Diner. Clint approaches him to see if Aden’s changed his mind about a loan, offering him money in exchange for inside information about the football team. Aden refuses but Clint says to call him if he changes his mind. Belle overhears Aden not being very enthusiastic when talking to Alf about living with her. Belle is snappy at Aden until Aden reveals that he was just being blokey with Alf – actually he’s crazy about Belle. More in love with Belle than ever, Aden decides to borrow the money from dodgy Clint to pay for the ring.
