Extended Summary

Geoff tells Claudia about Lachie’s allegations but she assures him the baby is his, and that Lachie is just trying to stir up trouble for them. At football training, Geoff sees Lachie watching him. He finds out he’s playing Lachie’s team next week. Lachie visits Claudia again, asking for a second chance, but is interrupted by Geoff who kicks him out.

Geoff can tell Claudia is really upset about Lachie but she won’t talk to him about it. An upset Claudia asks Martha for advice admitting that she still does have feelings for Lachie; Martha says Claudia’s future is with Geoff, and that she needs to let Lachie go. Geoff runs into Lachie at the Diner and tells him to stay away from Claudia. Lachie says he would be with Claudia if it weren’t for Geoff and that he’s going to get Geoff at the game next week.

Miles admits to Alf that he and Kirsty are thinking about having kids. Alf tells this to Kirsty, who is annoyed that Miles is telling people about their private lives, particularly when she finds out he’s also spoken to Leah about it. She wants to talk things through properly before they make any firm decisions. Kirsty admits to Rachel she is not sure about having more children at this stage of her life. Kirsty tries to raise this with Miles but he’s too annoyed to listen. Later on they do talk about it – she admits she’s open to the idea of kids, just not now, until they are a bit more settled. Miles accepts this.

Hugo asks Martha to move back into the house but she refuses. Rachel invites Martha over for dinner with her and Tony. But Tony – who doesn’t know about Hugo and Martha’s situation – invites Hugo over as well. To minimise an awkward situation, Rachel decides to also ask Miles and Kirsty along, unaware that their problems haven’t been resolved since her earlier conversation with Kirsty. The dinner party begins, with Hugo and Martha tense with each other, and Miles and Kirsty not happy with each other. The dinner is an awkward affair, with no-one realising the problems the other are having with the conversation slowly deteriorating into the realms of the uncomfortable – Rachel attempts to lighten the mood with wine. Despite Rachels trying to steer him away from it, Tony asks Martha and Hugo to be the babies Godparents – they agree, but Rachel can sense the tension between the pair. After dinner Hugo and Martha have an emotionally-charged moment together and it looks like they are going to kiss…when Tony sees them. What’s going on here?
