Extended Summary

Irene’s freaked after discovering the house has been trashed – again! Jack and Corey come over to investigate. It can’t be the same person as last time as Leo Simms’ dead. Colleen suggests that Irene should take in another border – a full home’s a safe home! Colleen points out that Corey was looking for a place to stay just yesterday. Irene wonders if he’s still keen, it would make her feel better to have a burly copper hanging around. Corey smiles – sounds good to him.

Keen to play matchmaker between Ric and Cassie, Mattie invites them over to Lucas’ to watch a movie. She puts a love story on, hinting, but they are bored out their skulls. Cass suggests a game of ‘dare’! Mattie reckons it’s a great idea (she can use it to get them together). The game is on! Matilda has been nominated to do the first ‘dare’. It’s so embarrassing! At the Diner, she psyches herself up – then, she jumps onto a table in the middle and starts singing ‘Advance Australia Fair!’ She starts to get lots of strange looks from everyone. Cassie, Ric and Luc crack up laughing.

Corey questions Jack about Martha. Everything Jack says gives Corey reason to believe he’s moving on. Corey asks Jack if it’s okay if he asked Martha out. Jack’s taken aback but covers, insisting its fine. Meanwhile, Luc, Cassie and Matilda sit in the Surf Club, waiting for Ric. Finally he arrives – dressed in women’s clothing and makeup. He looks ridiculous! The kids crack up – along with everyone else in the Surf Club. Alf nearly faints, but Ric just plays it straight as he orders four juices! Cassie gets a great idea for Luc’s dare – you’re about to test the brotherly bond! Luc wonders what she’s got in mind. Cassie smiles, cheekily – something fun!

Meanwhile, Hayley voices her concerns to Beth about Irene’s state of mind – she seems convinced someone’s out to get her. Meanwhile, Irene is in the house, when she hears a noise at the back door. She starts to get nervous as she approaches the back door and double checks that it’s locked. Irene seems to be really beginning to lose it… There’s another rattle at the door. Irene gets nervous again… She slowly approaches the kitchen – is she hearing things? Then she sees a figure near the window! Irene grabs a fry-pan when a voice calls out – Irene, are you home? It’s Corey with all of his bags, ready to move in. Irene’s relieved, but the events of the past twenty four hours are very much taking their toll on her mentally…

Matilda and Cassie are chatting to Jack at the bar trying to keep him distracted. Jack can’t help but get a little suspicious – finally he says he hasn’t got time for this and heads out to see… the cop car wrapped up in toilet paper! He shakes his head, realising he’s been taken for a ride. Lucas’ hides in the nearby bushes, empty toilet rolls in hand. He escaped by the skin of his teeth!
Meanwhile, Corey and Martha are having a beer and a great time together. Corey wonders what she’d say to a proper date? Martha reckons that sounds pretty good. A beat of frisson between them, then Martha says she hopes he doesn’t get flak over this at work. Corey tells Martha that Jack’s fine with it – in fact, he gave his all clear… Martha, a bit hurt by this, hides her reaction.

It’s Cassie’s turn and she’s not scared of anything Ric can dish out. Every dare Ric suggests Cassie vetoes as being too lame. Until Ric suggests that she abseils down the Summer Bay lighthouse! The mood immediately changes, as the sense of danger falls… but Cassie agrees to do it!

The house is dark, locked up, seemingly empty… Irene’s home alone her face full of fear and anxiety. Every little noise she hears makes her freak out. Is this all in her mind? Or is someone out to get her?
