Grant helps a young pianist realise his potential. Steven withdraws as groomsman for Carly’s wedding.

Extended Summary

Alf reassures Marilyn about Ernie the landlord and asks her to put up some campaign posters in return, Bobby doesn’t want her to do this as she has promised the same to her. Grant asks Marilyn to try out for the touch footie team but she isn’t keen. Lorraine wants Murray to explain why he didn’t want Sally to come to dinner. Carly & Ben organise to move into the house but Steven isn’t co-operating. Sally is upset because Murray didn’t want her to go to dinner. The next morning, Murray tries to get out of school, it seems he is ashamed of his house. Sally also tries to wag school. Steven is still resenting how things seem to be going on as normal. Sally talks to Steven about how no one wants to mention Tom. They meet up with Murray & Paul but Sally doesn’t want to walk with them. Ben, Carly& Pippa talk about Steven, Ben suggests calling off the wedding but Carly doesn’t want to. Pippa decides to call a family meeting. Sophie & Steven fight at school over his treatment of Pippa. Grant asks Paul to try out for footie but he doesn’t like the game. Bobby has a go at Carly for being an hour late and agrees that they should postpone the wedding. Grant finds Paul playing Jazz on the piano; he says that he wants to be an accountant though. Grant thinks he should take his playing more seriously. Sally wants to go to an all girl school. Grant talks to Ailsa about the Jensens, Bobby explains to him why Paul isn’t interested, she believes that he feels he should go out and work instead of going to uni. Sally & Murray fall out over the wedding. Ben tells Pippa that she needs to deal with her grief. Grant wants to help Paul buy a piano and gets him a job at the store with Marilyn’s help. The Fletchers have a meeting about the wedding, it is a 3-3 vote as to whether to postpone it or not but Pippa changes her mind so they decide they should.
