Simon Jefferies is Aden’s cousin, coming to Summer Bay in late 2007 with his mates for schoolies. The boys were staying in the Caravan Park and were playing loud music late at night and leaving rubbish outside their Caravan. Sally, not picking up on the fact that Simon looked remarkably a lot like Hamish Woodford, a boy that held her and her class hostage 6 years ago, asked him and his mates to clean it up but they didn’t. So Ric approached the boys and Aden, asking Simon to clean up their mess. Simon told him not to crack it because he already told the lady they would. Then Ric asked to keep the music down late at night and Aden interrupted telling him that his cousin was down for Schoolies week and to get “the pole out of his butt”. Matilda arrived after finding out about Ric sleeping with Viv and asked Ric if it was true. She told him not to touch him and Simon told him to do what she said. Ric told him to back off and Matilda stormed off.

Later on Simon went to Noah’s and asked Matilda to come to a party but she declined. He went to Drew, who was working the bar and asked if he could buy alcohol for the party, using a Fake ID. Drew recognized the ID was fake and refused. Simon then offered Drew 300 bucks, an offer too good to refuse. Later at the beach, Matilda found Simon and his mates and asked if she was still invited to the party. A happy Simon told her she was. At the party, Simon got drunk even though he was suppose to be the designated driver. Mattie asked Cassie to drive them home and although she had a drink and wasn’t meant to have more than one other person in the car she agreed when Mattie told her that she owed it to her after knowing about Ric and Viv. With the boys passing around dope and Cassie telling them to put it out, Cassie lost control of the car and it crashed into a pole.

Aden injured his leg in the accident and when the boys heard the sirens they fled. Simon explained to Cassie that they were doing her a favour by doing this because if the police found out how many people were in the accident she would get in more trouble. Both Cassie and Simon gave the police conflicting statements and there were traces of drugs in Cassie’s blood system. Cassie explained that Aden was using drugs in the car. Lara explained to Cassie that they found a wallet belonging to someone else in the car, who had to confess to being in the car as well. Later on Lara explained to Cassie that her lies hadn’t helped the case and she would be charged with negligent driving.

Simon stayed around in Summer Bay after Schoolies to make sure Aden was ok. He apologised to Matilda for being a moron at the party and the two hung out at the Surf Club together. Viv walked in and Mattie had a go at her. Simon suggested to Matilda that they should leave. Simon walked Matilda home and revealed to her that he wants to be a lawyer and he already had early acceptance into University which impressed her. When they arrived at her place, Ric was there dropping off her scooter. Ric asked her what was going on. There was a bit of an arguement between the two boys but Matilda told Simon to leave him alone as he would probably hit him because thats how he usually handles these situations. Matilda then invited Simon inside to spite Ric and they spent the night together.

Simon arrived at Matilda’s door to ask if she wanted to hang out again and to let her know that it wasn’t a one night situation, Matilda didn’t seem too enthusiastic but Tony interrupted and lectured both Simon and Matilda about sneaking around. Matilda snapped at Tony telling him they didn’t need his permission and she left with Simon. They arrived at Noah’s where Ric explained to Matilda that Simon was going to be the prossecuters main witness against Cassie in the court case and that he was going to say that Cassie was smoking the pot to get the boys off the hook. Simon told Matilda that it was true and she stormed off unimpressed with him.

Matilda saw Simon in the Court House before the trial and asked him why he didn’t use any drugs that night. Simon explained to her that he didn’t want to have a criminal record against him because he wanted to be a lawyer so badly. Matilda then attacked him verbally asking how he can be a lawyer if he is prepared to lie in court. On the stand, Simon, seeing Matilda staring at him, asked if he could change his statement where he explained that Cassie wasn’t using drugs that night, the boys were. As a result Cassie only received a fine and her liscence was suspended for twelve months.

Chris Foy previous played Hamish Woodforde in 2001.
