It Takes Two: One down, one to go

In a shock departure, Home and Away star Kate Ritchie (Sally) has been eliminated from Seven's celebrity singing competition It Takes Two.

In last nights episode, Kate and her partner, country music star Troy Cassar-Daley, were voted out.

However, all is not lost for Home and Away fans, with Mark Furze (Ric) still in the competition and part of the final three.

Following Kate's departure Mark is still betting agency CentreBet's favourite to win the series. Kate previously shared the favourite spot with Mark.

Miss the Opening Titles?

Many Australian viewers have recently been wondering what has happened to the show's opening titles and world famous theme tune. Recently, the show has started going straight from the recap to the day's episode, removing the opening titles usually sandwiched in between.

Well, Australia's 'The Courier-Mail' reports that this won't be forever. They report that a Seven spokesperson has confirmed that the theme and titles will be brought back "once they get through this run of bad luck on Summer Bay". Apparently, with so much happening at the moment, they need every second of airtime possible, and cutting the opening titles was the easiest way to achive this.

The article also reports that new opening titles are being filmed in about a fortnight. Could this see the 'picture frame' theme replaced by brand new titles, or does it simply mean that the shots will get another refresh? At the start of the 2006 season, all but one of the credit shots were changed, but still remained in the picture frame style, which debuted at the beginning of the 2004 season.

You can give your thoughts on the credits' disappearence here.

Laurie Returns to Soap

BTTB has been in contact with ex H&A cast member Laurie Foell (Angie/Josie Russell), and we are pleased to hear that she will shortly be returning for another stint on Kiwi soap 'Shortland Street' as Dr Justine Jones.

Recently Laurie has been auditioning for many US shows, but despite some great feedback there have been no offers as yet.

"It's like running a marathon, it's exhausting. But I enjoyed the process, its like high competition athletics and it gave me an idea of just how tough that end of the market is, so it was good."
