9 Coronation Street Spoilers for This Week – 7th to 12th June

This week on Coronation Street, Gary’s back under the spotlight, Tyrone makes a confession, and is Roy in danger as Sam reaches breaking point?

Note: Corrie will be airing on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, with an hour-long episode on Friday.

1) Summer reaches a desperate low

Summer (Harriet Bibby) is pushed to breaking point next week, as the reality of life behind bars becomes too much for her to face.

ITV

Since being charged with killing Theo (James Cartwright), Summer has continued to insist that she’s innocent, but the evidence has left her in an increasingly bleak position.

Her brooch was found in Todd and Theo’s flat with Theo’s blood on it, George (Tony Maudsley) placed her near the scene on the night he died, and her attempt to leave for America only made things look worse.

Next week, Todd (Gareth Pierce) is left shaken when he receives a call from the prison, telling him that Summer has been admitted to hospital.

ITV

When Todd gets to see her, Summer admits that she deliberately switched off her insulin pump because she couldn’t cope with being in prison any longer.

ITV

Todd’s horrified to realise how desperate things have become, and later shares the news with his friends in the Rovers. For a certain person listening, the thought of Summer being sent back inside leaves them struggling to keep their guilt hidden.

The following day, Todd again visits Summer in hospital alongside Asha (Tanisha Gorey) and Nina (Mollie Gallagher).

ITV

Although Summer has survived the immediate danger, she breaks down as she admits she’s dreading the thought of returning to prison.

Will the truth about her whereabouts come out before she’s forced back behind bars?

2) Tyrone confesses his secret

Meanwhile, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is forced to confront the secret he’s been keeping, as Summer’s worsening situation leaves him struggling to stay silent.

Viewers already know that Tyrone saw Summer leaving Todd and Theo’s flat on the evening of his death—and then saw Theo alive in the window afterwards. That evidence could help clear Summer’s name, but Tyrone has kept quiet because of the other secret he’s been hiding from the same night.

ITV

ITV

Next week, Carl (Jonathan Howard) unsettles Tyrone when he reveals that he’s started having flashbacks to the night he was injured, and now remembers that it happened at the garage.

With the thought of Summer heading back to prison weighing heavily on him, Tyrone finally breaks down and tells Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) everything.

ITV

He admits that his statement to the police wasn’t true, and that he’s been protecting himself despite knowing Summer is innocent.

Tyrone then reveals to her the full reason for his silence. On the night Theo died, he caught Carl tampering with Kevin’s (Michael Le Vell) brakes and filmed it on his phone.

But as he tried to leave, Tyrone accidentally knocked the vehicle jack, causing the car to fall and crush Carl.

ITV

ITV

As Fiz takes in the scale of what Tyrone’s been keeping from her, she orders him to hand over his phone.

ITV

With the footage still in Tyrone’s possession, will he finally do the right thing for Summer?

3) Gary is back in the frame

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Gary (Mikey North) comes under renewed pressure, as the case begins circling back towards him.

Since Theo died, Gary has been on the fringes of the investigation. Earlier in the day he’d smashed up Theo’s van after being drawn into Todd’s attempts to scare him off, then deleted the CCTV footage that would have shown what he’d done.

ITV

Maria (Samia Longchambon) later gave Gary an alibi, telling police they were together at the builders’ yard on the night of Theo’s death. She also claimed she’d asked him to wipe the CCTV herself, giving them an explanation for why the footage had gone.

That story has kept Gary protected so far, but Todd’s missing phone—which was last known to have been in Theo’s possession before he died—has since become another key part of the case. The phone later turned up at a pawn shop with Brody’s (Ryan Mulvey) fingerprints on it.

ITV

Brody was arrested, and claimed he’d found it in a skip outside Gary’s yard.

Next week, Kit (Jacob Roberts) quizzes Gary about Todd’s phone, but Gary insists he doesn’t know anything about it. Kit isn’t convinced and later tells Lisa (Vicky Myers) that Gary clearly knows more than he’s letting on.

ITV

As the week continues, Kit’s suspicions are stirred again when he notices more quiet conversations taking place around the street. With Summer’s guilt looking less certain, Gary finds himself pulled further into the frame.

ITV

Maria is also struggling to shake off her own concerns. Gary’s recent protectiveness towards Sarah (Tina O’Brien) has already left her unsettled, and the renewed police interest in his movements threatens to put the false alibi she gave him back under the spotlight.

When Maria is left waiting for Gary in Speed Daal, she confides in Shona (Julia Goulding) that things haven’t felt right between them for a while.

ITV

Gary later apologises to Maria for standing her up, but they’re interrupted by Kit and Lisa, who want Maria to go over her statement again.

ITV

Gary is rattled by the request as he wonders what’s been uncovered—but will Maria stick to her story?

ITV

4) Daniel comes under scrutiny

Daniel (Rob Mallard) remains under scrutiny next week, as social services return to speak to Bertie (Henry Duggan).

Last week, Daniel hit a new low after realising Jodie (Olivia Frances-Brown) was behind the Truthteller posts. After getting drunk and passing out at home, he failed to notice Bertie trying to make himself something to eat, leading to a frightening incident when Bertie put a metal container in the microwave.

ITV

With smoke filling the kitchen and Daniel still dead to the world, Bertie fled to No.1, leaving Daniel to wake later with no idea where his son had gone.

Daniel’s panic soon gave way to another confrontation after realising Adam (Sam Robertson) had deliberately kept Bertie’s whereabouts hidden to teach Daniel a lesson. As an argument escalated, Daniel accidentally elbowed Ken (William Roache) as he lashed out.

ITV

By the end of the week, social worker Ruth (Amy Drake) had arrived at Daniel’s flat following an anonymous tip-off. Daniel spent the afternoon going over everything with her, before later heading to the Rovers to confront the people he suspected of reporting him.

Next week, Daniel nervously shows Ruth back into the flat so that she can speak to Bertie about what happened.

ITV

ITV

Afterwards, Daniel tries to smooth things over with Adam and Alya (Sair Khan), thanking them for their help despite the recent tension.

Daniel’s also convinced he knows who made the anonymous report—but has he got it right?

5) David tries to win Shona round

David (Jack P Shepherd) tries to repair things with Shona next week, as their family life comes under strain again.

The couple have already had a difficult few months, with Jodie’s behaviour causing fresh problems between them at a time when baby Harper has needed their full focus.

ITV

Next week, another upsetting moment follows when David can’t find Harper’s five-month milestone card before they’re due at the hospital for her photo shoot.

The delay means David and Shona end up missing the appointment altogether, leaving Shona devastated.

Back at No.8, David immediately blames Jodie for the missing card, convinced she’s interfered again.

ITV

The following day, David tries to make amends by arranging a romantic meal for Shona. He also gives her a gift box filled with Harper’s ultrasound photos, her hospital bracelet, and a onesie ready for when they finally get to bring their baby daughter home.

ITV

David hopes the gesture will show Shona how much he cares, but will it be enough to make up for the missed milestone?

ITV

Later in the week, there’s a lighter moment for the family when Lily (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) celebrates winning a Player of the Year trophy.

ITV

ITV

The Platts gather for a special tea, but will Jodie start stirring the pot yet again?

6) Will falls into Megan’s trap

Will (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) is again pulled back into Megan’s (Beth Nixon) path next week, as he continues trying to move forward after being groomed by her.

ITV

Since Megan’s arrest, Will has been left trying to rebuild some sense of normality, but the impact of what she did is still affecting his day-to-day life.

Megan has already tried to reopen contact, having previously slipped him her new number, but Will has been trying to keep his distance.

Next week, Will confides in Hope (Isabella Flanagan) that he’s thinking about quitting athletics completely, as it only reminds him of Megan.

ITV

Hope urges him not to let Megan take that away from him as well, pointing out that quitting would only allow her to keep holding power over something he loves.

As Hope tries to encourage Will, Sam (Jude Riordan) watches them together, with his paranoia still running out of control.

ITV

Later in the week, Will tells Hope that he’s had a message from Lee (Oscar Aldersley), his old running friend from Hull. Lee had previously claimed that he’d also had a sexual relationship with Megan, and now apparently wants to meet up.

Will heads off to see him, but when he arrives, he realises he’s been tricked.

ITV

Megan is waiting for him instead, having used the fake message to get him there.

ITV

ITV

With Megan still trying to draw Will back in, what does she want from him now?

7) Will Sam attack Roy?

Sam’s fragile state worsens next week, as his visions of Roy (David Neilson) start pushing him towards dangerous action.

Since Megan’s grooming of Will was exposed, Sam has struggled to feel safe. His fear of Will has continued to grow, and his grip on reality has become increasingly shaky, with an imagined version of his good friend Roy appearing to him as a voice of guidance.

ITV

But this isn’t the Roy that Sam knows. Instead, the figure in his head has become colder and more forceful, encouraging Sam to distrust the people around him and take matters into his own hands.

ITV

After seeing Will and Hope in the café together, Sam believes he can hear Roy telling him to take control and remove Will from the situation altogether. Sam insists that he’s not a violent person, but the imagined Roy turns on him, accusing him of cowardice and declaring their friendship over.

ITV

ITV

The following day, when Sam brings up the Will incident again, the real Roy has no idea what he’s talking about. Sam fails to notice his confusion, missing another sign that what he’s hearing and seeing doesn’t match reality.

By Friday, Sam’s fear of Will has taken over. With the imagined Roy still at his side, he heads to the Rovers and finds Will alone in the back room, absorbed in a shooting game.

ITV

As Sam watches him, the darker Roy warns that Will is going to kill him too. Panicked, Sam runs from the pub, and Will follows after him out of concern.

Sam makes it to the café and locks the door behind him, shutting Will outside.

Inside, the real Roy finds Sam in a distressed state, but his arrival only leaves Sam more disorientated as he’s suddenly confronted with two versions of Roy—the real one standing in front of him, and the darker voice still in his head.

ITV

ITV

Outside, Nick (Ben Price), Toyah (Georgia Taylor) and Leanne (Jane Danson) gather with Will and beg Sam to open the door, while Roy tries to appeal to him inside.

ITV

But as Sam grows increasingly frantic, could he do the unthinkable by harming Roy?

I think what happens for Nick is that the situation suddenly bridges the gap into becoming a bit dangerous,” Ben Price tells us. “Sam has never been dangerous before. Nick sees a part in Sam that he’s never seen before. He’s not letting Nick in, and then he locks himself up and gets aggressive to Roy.

ITV

Those moments, when Sam is showing something so different from how he has been, is the bit when Nick thinks, ‘Oh, he’s in real trouble.’

8) Carla fears for Sam

After Sam flees the scene, Carla (Alison King) spots him in the precinct and can immediately see that something is seriously wrong.

ITV

Careful not to overwhelm him, Carla tries to keep him talking while quietly reaching for her phone. She manages to alert Nick, but the situation quickly shifts when Nick and David arrive.

ITV

ITV

Unable to cope with more people closing in, Sam panics and runs off again, leaving Carla badly shaken by what she’s just witnessed.

Drawing from her own experience, Carla tells Nick that she fears Sam may be suffering from psychosis.

It’s a moment of currency for Nick,” Ben continues. “Carla isn’t usually like that; she’s very full of brusqueness. If Carla is saying it, and Carla has seen it and gone through it, there’s a moment where I think Nick knows Carla enough to go, ‘She’s seen something properly.’

ITV

As the scale of Sam’s crisis finally becomes clear, can his family get him the help he needs?

9) Debbie’s friends plan a getaway

Also next week, Debbie (Sue Devaney) gets an unexpected surprise, as her friends decide she could do with a change of scene.

After everything Debbie has been through in recent months, Christina (Amy Robbins), Glenda (Jodie Prenger) and Sally (Sally Dynevor) come up with a plan to lift her spirits.

ITV

The trio reveal that they’re taking Debbie away on holiday to Spain, hoping a few days with friends will give her something brighter to focus on.

With Debbie still trying to make the most of the time she has, will the trip give her the boost her friends are hoping for?

The news comes as Debbie continues to try and make the most of the time she has left, following her young-onset dementia diagnosis, and echoes what Sue Devaney exclusively told EverySoap she’d like to see for the character.

ITV

Debbie having fun with the girls, and lots of chatting,” Sue revealed.

I asked my mum when she was diagnosed what she’d like to do. I said you can go anywhere in the world or do anything, and she said ‘I just want to be home with my family and friends’. I think that’s what Debbie wants to do. She wants to get back to her roots.”

“That’s why she’s moved just round the corner,” Sue added. “She thinks ‘This is where I’m happy, it’s where I started off, this is where I’m going to end up.’
