Home and Away Spoilers – Eden gets devastating news after collapsing

This week on Home and Away in Australia, after collapsing at Salt, a trip to the hospital brings devastating news for Eden.

Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) has been dismissing a series of seemingly minor symptoms in recent weeks, unaware that they could be pointing towards something far more serious.

The first indication came after a girls’ getaway in the city with sister Abigail (Hailey Pinto) and Mackenzie (Emily Weir) three weeks ago.

Eden admitted that she wasn’t feeling particularly well the following morning, but blamed it on having enjoyed an extra glass of wine.

Abby jokingly suggested that married life was making Eden soft, and there appeared to be little reason for either of them to suspect anything more concerning.

However, things took a more unusual turn when Eden suffered a sudden nosebleed whilst working at Salt the following week.

Eden admitted that she’d never experienced one before, prompting Abby to encourage her to get checked over.

When Eden dismissed the suggestion, Abby asked whether she would at least speak to their brother Levi (Tristan Gorey).

But with Levi already facing uncertainty over his medical career following the injuries he suffered during the recent camping trip, Eden didn’t want to add to his worries. She insisted it was nothing to be concerned about and carried on as normal.

Further warning signs followed this past week. Remi (Adam Rowland) noted that Eden looked worse then he did when she visited him in hospital, which she put down to stressing over the Sonny (Ryan Bown) situation.

When she later served Sonny at Salt, she suddenly became dizzy, assuring him that she simply needed some water.

But this week, things take a dramatic turn.

After a busy shift at Salt, Mac sends Eden and Abby home early, but Eden is forced to pause when another wave of dizziness hits.

She attempts to brush it off, but Abby isn’t convinced that everything’s fine, particularly given Eden’s recent nosebleed.

Once they’re home, Eden’s so exhausted that she heads straight to bed. Her sudden tiredness only adds to Abby’s concern, and she begins looking into what could be causing her sister’s symptoms.

However, Abby’s research leads her to an unexpected possibility—could Eden be pregnant?

The possibility is particularly unsettling following Eden’s recent disagreement with husband Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) over their future.

Levi and Mac’s pregnancy loss left Eden terrified of becoming pregnant, putting strain on her marriage when Cash admitted he wasn’t ready to give up on having a family.

They eventually found common ground in fostering, although Eden wasn’t ready to begin the process straight away.

With those conversations still fresh in Eden’s mind, Abby persuades Eden to take a pregnancy test.

Once she’s alone, Eden checks the result and breathes a sigh of relief when it comes back negative. But whilst pregnancy has been ruled out, the symptoms haven’t gone anywhere.

Eden remains exhausted, prompting Abby to tell Mac that her sister is unwell.

Cash, however, dismisses her concerns, with Eden insisting that she’s simply had a big week.

Nevertheless, Mac encourages Eden to finish early and spend some quality time with Cash.

But as the couple prepare to leave Salt, Eden is struck by another dizzy spell—and this time, she loses consciousness, collapsing into Cash’s arms.

Mac immediately calls an ambulance, as a terrified Cash tries to bring Eden around.

Eden is taken to Northern Districts Hospital, where Amelia (Nicole da Silva) begins examining her. Cash refuses to leave her side as Eden struggles to stay conscious, whilst Levi, Mac and Abby arrive desperate to find out what’s wrong.

Amelia begins working through Eden’s recent symptoms and reassures her that she’ll carry out all the necessary tests to get to the bottom of things.

When Abby reveals that Eden has been unusually tired—and also suffered an unexplained nosebleed—the disclosure catches Cash off guard, leaving him frustrated that Abby hadn’t mentioned her concerns sooner. He also struggles to understand why Eden never told him that she’d been feeling unwell.

When Amelia returns with an update, she explains that the tests have detected an abnormal heartbeat. Although she stresses that there could be any number of explanations, the news does little to calm Cash, who demands to know exactly what’s happening to Eden.

As his questions become increasingly heated, Amelia suggests that he step outside and take a moment.

Levi subsequently takes Amelia aside and explains why Cash is finding the situation particularly difficult. The incident is clearly evoking memories of what happened to Cash’s sister, Felicity (Jacqui Purvis), who herself collapsed in Salt following a brain aneurysm in 2024.

After Flick spent several days on life support in that very hospital, Cash finally accepted that his sister was clinically dead and allowed the machines to be turned off.

It later caused Cash to split from Eden at Felicity’s graveside, feeling that he was cursed to lose all those that he loved. It would be another six months before they got back together and went on to marry.

Cash eventually returns and apologises to Amelia for his outburst. She explains that Eden will need to remain in hospital overnight, so that another ECG can be carried out whilst they wait for further test results.

However, the situation becomes even more concerning when Eden asks Cash to help fasten her hospital gown.

As he does so, he notices several large bruises across her back.

Cash and Eden immediately show Amelia, who explains that some of Eden’s blood-test results have also come back abnormal.

Taken together, the bruising and the blood tests are serious enough for Amelia to arrange a bone-marrow biopsy that same night.

Back in Summer Bay, Levi is soon updated on the latest developments and breaks the news to Mac and Abby.

He admits that cancer is one possible explanation, although he stresses that there are several other conditions that could account for Eden’s symptoms. Whatever the eventual diagnosis, however, Levi knows that his sister’s condition is serious.

Cash sits by Eden’s side that evening as Amelia performs the uncomfortable procedure.

The following morning, Amelia returns with the results—and finally identifies what has been making Eden so unwell.

Eden has aplastic anaemia, a condition which means that her bone marrow has stopped producing new blood cells.

The diagnosis explains the exhaustion, fainting and shortness of breath that Eden has been experiencing, as well as the bruising and nosebleed that first alerted Abby to the possibility that something was wrong.

Amelia explains that treatments are available to help manage Eden’s symptoms, but Cash needs to know just how serious the condition really is.

When he presses her for the truth, Amelia doesn’t sugarcoat it—aplastic anaemia can be fatal.

As Eden and Cash face the devastating news, what will the diagnosis mean for their future?
