Five's bloody edits

'Five' made a small edit to tonight's UK episode of Home and Away. The episode featured a flashback of Kane Phillips' father beating him as a child.

In the Australian screening of the episode, just before Kane collapses down onto the rock, we hear Kane's father say:

"<something> clean it up. When are you gonna bloody grow up?"

However, this line was missing from the UK screening. It's presumed the line was cut due to language, but it has left many members of our Message Board fuming. If an edit was made over such a trivial matter, just how will five treat the PG episodes of the show, which are due to air in the UK later in the year?

4000th Episode Celebrations

Home and Away's 4000th Episode airs next month, and there are some big surprises on the way. Look away now if you don't want to know what's going on.

The soap will celebrate it's 4000th episode in style, with a Birthday, a Marriage and a Death all within a very short space of time. The birthday is that of Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher), and the residents of Summer Bay throw him a surprise birthday party to celebrate.

There's even more happiness in store for two other Summer Bay residents, as Leah Patterson (Ada Nicodemou) and Dan Baker (Tim Campbell) get married.

However, get the tissues at the ready as one character passes away. It's yet unknown as to who the departing character is, but with Josie Russell and Jesse McGregor confirmed as leaving, and with Henry Hunter recently being removed from the Opening Titles, could it be one of these?

A number of past characters are set to return to celebrate the show's anniversary. Pippa (Debra Lawrance) and Donald Fisher (Norman Coburn) are both set to return, along with Duncan (Brendan McKensy), Lance Smart (Peter Vroom), Sophie Simpson (Rebekah Elmaloglou) and Will Smith (Zac Drayson). Chloe Richards (Kirsty Wright) is also set to return, but on a more permanent basis.

Five Promotion

Viewers have often wondered why 'five' fails to give Home and Away, one of it's most watched programmes, any promotion on the channel. Their prayers have now been answered, with Inside Soap reporting that five have filmed a selection of new promotions for the show, featuring the cast playing volleyball on Bondi Beach.

The magazine reports that the promotions were shot in such a way that they make the actors look like giants.
