We first saw Ash on the news when Chelsea was protecting him from the paparazzi. A few days later, Ash spent some quality time with Liam when he was staying in rehab. Liam asked Belle to take some pictures of them so they could remember that day forever.

When Liam came back to the Bay for good, he mentioned Ash and Chelsea were now living in Paris and he couldn't see his son anymore.
