7 Emmerdale Spoilers for Next Week – 29th June to 1st July

Posted on Categories Emmerdale

Next week on Emmerdale, Nicola fumes as Kev refuses to give up on Lewis, Serena raises suspicions, Cain discovers the truth about Kyle, and is a death about to rock the village?

1) Charity faces another blow

Charity (Emma Atkins) takes another step towards exposing Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) next week, but soon fears that telling the truth may not be enough to bring Todd to justice.

ITV

After weeks of hiding what had gone down, Charity finally reached breaking point when she fled the village and ended up alone by a lake. There, she was found by newcomer Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy), and the pair’s conversation led Charity to open up about Todd’s blackmail, the assault and the truth about Leyla’s parentage.

Serena urged Charity to stop carrying the burden alone, pointing out that Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) and Sarah (Katie Hill) deserved to know what had been happening. At this point, Charity remains unaware that Serena is actually Sarah’s third cousin, with Serena equally oblivious as to exactly which Sarah Charity was referring to.

ITV

When Charity returned home, she finally told Mack part of the truth, admitting that she’d cheated on him and that she and Ross (Michael Parr) are Leyla’s biological parents. Mack was devastated by the betrayal, but Charity later went further and revealed that not only had Dr Todd blackmailed her over the secret, but had also gone on to rape her on the day of Sarah’s birthday party.

Despite his anger, Mack believed Charity and encouraged her to go back to the police and tell them everything.

ITV

Next week, Charity goes back to the police and tells them that Todd had also been blackmailing her, hoping it will cause further action to be taken.

DS Reid (Angela Lonsdale) agrees to take a statement, but Charity’s soon brought back down to earth when she’s told that this will be handled separately from the sexual assault complaint that she’d dropped.

Instead of feeling that Todd’s wider behaviour could strengthen the case against her, Charity is left worried that Todd could still avoid being charged over the assault.

She’s also hit by the fear that speaking out could still expose Sarah to the truth about Leyla, without getting her any closer to justice.

ITV

Even so, Charity tries to carry on for Leyla’s christening. Mack is concerned when she insists on putting on a brave face and attending the gathering, despite everything that is still hanging over her.

Later in the week, Charity admits to Serena that she is struggling to believe she’ll ever get justice for what Todd did. Serena encourages her not to give up, leaving Charity more determined to keep going.

2) A shocking crime is revealed

Meanwhile, a new flashforward hints that another crime is about to send shockwaves through the dales—is there a death on the cards?.

At the end of the third episode airing next week, viewers are shown flashes of a crime scene, where police are gathering evidence and photographs are being taken.

ITV

In a blink-and-miss-it moment, the victim is then revealed, raising questions over how it happened, and who else may be involved.

Tabloid reports have already suggested that Vinny (Bradley Johnson), Jimmy (Nick Miles) and Dawn (Olivia Bromley) are all due to leave Emmerdale in the coming months.

Could one of these beloved characters be about to meet their maker, or is Dr Todd soon to face justice of a different form entirely…?

3) Mack’s actions catch up with him

Back in the present, Wednesday’s episode sees the police returning to the village, except it’s not Charity they’re here to see—they want to question Mack!

ITV

Has Mack’s anger already got the better of him after hearing what Charity’s been through?

4) Kev’s return divides the village

Elsewhere in the village, Kev (Chris Coghill) remains determined to stay close to Lewis (Bradley Riches), despite his son making it clear that he wants nothing to do with him.

Recent episodes saw Lewis abducted, leaving Ross frantic when he received a ransom demand from a woman called Kylie.

ITV

Kylie refused to release Lewis unless his father returned “Penny”—which later turned out to be a diamond made from the ashes of a cat she and Kev had owned together during their past relationship.

The bizarre demand forced Liam to reveal to Ross that Kev was Lewis’s biological father, and the pair were forced to track him down.

ITV

Once Ross eventually got Lewis home, he initially tried to shield him from the full story by covering up Kev’s involvement in the kidnapping drama. But Kev later arrived at Dale View, determined to speak to Lewis himself.

In true Kev fashion, he didn’t go for the straightforward approach. Instead, he tried to break the news by launching into a karaoke version of ‘Father and Son’, before Lewis cut him off and demanded to know what was going on.

Kev then finally admitted to Lewis that he was his dad.

Reeling from the news, Lewis made it clear that he didn’t want Kev in his life as a father, but Kev isn’t ready to accept defeat just yet.

Next week, Claudette (Flo Wilson) is delighted when Kev turns up at Woodbine, and quickly offers him a place to stay.

ITV

Before long, Kev confides in Claudette and Charles (Kevin Mathurin) about the real reason he’s back. They’re stunned when he reveals that Lewis is his son, and that Lewis wants nothing to do with him after learning the truth.

Kev starts to wonder whether he should simply leave again, rather than cause any more trouble. Claudette, however, refuses to let him write himself off so easily.

ITV

Claudette reminds Kev that he has the chance to build something with Lewis, even if it will take time. Urging him not to run away at the first sign of rejection, she insists that he deserves a family and should at least try to prove himself to his son.

Elsewhere, Kev also has unfinished business with estranged husband Robert (Ryan Hawley). Given everything that happened during Kev’s previous time in the village, Robert is understandably wary of Kev’s return.

However, with Robert now engaged to Aaron (Danny Miller), Kev’s suggestion that they should finally start sorting out their divorce comes as a welcome relief.

5) Nicola declares war

Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) is another resident less than thrilled by Kev’s continued presence.

Nicola had known for months that Kev was Lewis’s biological father, after previously warning Kev that he either needed to tell Lewis the truth and stay in the village, or keep quiet and leave for good.

When the truth came out this week, Lewis was dealt another blow when Kev revealed that Nicola had been keeping the secret from him too.

ITV

Nicola was furious about the careless way the bombshell had been dropped on Lewis, knowing how much upheaval he had already been through. So when Kev then made it clear that he was planning to stick around, Nicola was lost for words.

Next week, Kev gives her another reason to want rid of him when he parks his trailer outside the café.

ITV

As if Nicola wasn’t annoyed enough by the direct competition on her doorstep, she then catches Kev filling a bucket in the café toilets so he can clean the trailer.

ITV

For Nicola, it’s the final straw, and she becomes determined to get him out of the village!

6) What is Serena hiding?

Meanwhile, Sarah starts to wonder whether there’s more to Serena than meets the eye, following her surprise arrival in the village.

Shortly after her chat with Charity, Serena turned up at Emmerdale Farm and bumped into third cousin Sarah, who remembered her from a family wedding fifteen years ago.

Next week, her suspicions grow when Serena mentions Robert’s murderous half-brother, John (Oliver Farnworth).

ITV

Given the devastation John caused for Robert and Aaron, Sarah is unsettled by Serena appearing to know about such a painful chapter in the family’s recent history.

ITV

Though wary, Sarah softens when she discovers that Serena’s been living out of her car, and offers her a bed at Farrers for the night.

Serena’s presence continues to raise questions later in the week, as Kev starts to wonder where he knows her from.

ITV

Is Serena simply there to catch up with her distant relatives, or is there more to her sudden appearance than she’s letting on?

7) Cain discovers the truth about Kyle

Also next week, Cain (Jeff Hordley) faces a difficult confrontation with 15-year-old son Kyle (Huey Quinn), as the truth about the recent spate of fires at Emmerdale Farm finally comes to light.

Viewers recently discovered that Kyle was responsible, after Graham (Andrew Scarborough) found him watching his own car burn. Graham pulled Kyle to safety and realised that the fires were linked to the turmoil Kyle had been bottling up.

ITV

Kyle has quietly been struggling for the past 18 months, with the death of mum Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson), the loss of Butlers Farm, Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) prison ordeal and Cain’s cancer diagnosis all taking their toll.

ITV

Kyle has also felt increasingly pushed aside by Cain, after his hopes of spending proper time with his dad kept falling flat.

Graham chose not to expose Kyle straight away. Instead, he opened up about his own past trauma with fire and tried to steer Kyle away from causing any more damage.

ITV

ITV

He encouraged Kyle to be honest with Cain and Moira, but also took matters into his own hands by signing him up to the cadets, and later gave him one of his old army watches.

ITV

Next week, that gesture raises alarm bells when Lydia (Karen Blick) realises that Kyle has been wearing Graham’s watch, and brings it to Cain’s attention.

Cain’s baffled, and heads straight to Home Farm, wanting to know why his son has something so personal of Graham’s.

Forced into a corner, Graham has no option but to reveal that Kyle had been the one responsible for the recent fires.

Cain’s horrified by what Kyle has done, but Graham’s involvement only adds to his anger. The idea that Kyle has confided in Graham rather than him hits a nerve.

ITV

Back at Wishing Well, Cain confronts Kyle and asks whether Graham’s claims are true.

Will Kyle own up?
