Graham Lynch’s House

55 Phillip Street Birchgrove

Following the temporary breakdown of her marriage to Alf in August 1988, Ailsa Stewart left Summer Bay to stay with her old friend Graham Lynch (played by Tom Richards) in the city.

In Episode 174, we saw Ailsa and Graham sitting outside his home discussing Ailsa’s decision to sell the store to Celia, and the next day she made a quick return to Summer Bay to sort out the paperwork and and say goodbye to Pippa. On receiving a note in her locker from Ailsa explaining that she was travelling overseas, possibly never to return, Bobby Simpson found Graham’s address and rushed down to the city to say a tearful goodbye to Ailsa just as she was leaving for the airport.

In reality, the location used for Graham’s home is in the Inner West Sydney suburb of Birchgrove. The area is no stranger to the show, with the location of Barbara Stewart’s home only a few streets away, and the neighbouring suburbs of Balmain and Rozelle being used a number of times over the past thirty years.
