I mentioned this in the thread about Martha's return "storyline". Did she really, knowingly, abandon Bobby with no means for Morag to get money to her? Highly farcical... even if she was depressed and not thinking straight, Alf would have mentioned this during their reunion.

I found this frustrating when she came back, Alf and Martha’s on screen conversation didn’t go into as much depth as I would have liked. Has Ailsa even been mentioned?

Nope I can't remember her being mentioned at all Martha's only there really so Ray can have his breaks though I feel there isn't much depth there really well I don't think so

Ruth said to Alf you didn’t stop to think tell Ailsa  or one of you sisters and Alf mention that Ruth gave Ailsa hell at first .

I think Ailsa probably most mentioned past oringal character.

There was no depth or detail at all in any of the explanations regarding Martha - it was all very vague. The writers themselves didn't really know what they were doing, they were writing nonsense with no knowledge of the backstory. So they just skimmed over everything. Oh she was sick, ok. That's it all explained, then.
