Vicki: *to Roz Allen* So, Roz. I bought this luxury car for my father and it came all the way from Switzerland. Isn’t that great? Roz: Yeah, it is. *rolls her eyes* Vicki: *to Tevita Usaia* What do you think of my bracelet? It’s real gold. *giggles* Tevita: I don’t care about your stinking bracelet. I hate people that abuse animals. Vicki: That’s not very friendly! Tevita: Rack off then! *Vicki sits down with Kat Benson* Vicki: Hello Kat. How are you? Kat: Get nicked! *gets up and sits with Alison and her friends* Vicki: Why am I being ignored? I’m just trying to make friends here. Alison: It’s your snobby behaviour that’s causing everyone not to be friends with you. Vicki: How was I being snobby Alison? Alison: Telling everyone about buying a luxury car and flaunting your gold bracelet is what I consider being a snob. Vicki: Oops sorry! *laughs smugly* Erin: Not to mention that you are an animal abuser! Vicki: I’m really sorry about Fluffy. I should not have set it on fire. Erin: Well, it’s a bit late for that isn’t it? Melissa: Calm down sweetheart. Kat: Just ignore her. She’s not worth it. *Vicki gives Kat a look before going back to her work* Meanwhile at Civic High School, the Year 8 boys are playing rugby league with some boys from the above grades. Some of the girls watch them. Hayley: *to Jessica Oloaga* Just look at those legs. Jessica: Who’s legs? Hayley: Leon’s. They’re so tanned Jessica: They’re not tanned. That’s just his natural skin colour. Alexis: Most of the guys at this school are hot. Catherine: Sorry honey but Seru is mine. Alexis: As if I would go out with my best friend’s boyfriend. I’m not like that. Catherine: I know. *smiles before turning to Sumara* I heard you’re going out with Marcus. Sumara: I really love him. Madison: Of course you do. I just wish I could land myself a boyfriend. *They are interrupted by a loud scream. The girls run over to the football field to see Seru wincing in pain* Catherine: Seru!!!!!! *to Riggot* What the hell happened to him? Riggot: Alex tackled him and he didn’t get back up. Catherine: *turns to Alex* You idiot! Can’t you do anything right? Alex: I’m sorry. Catherine: I bet you are! *turns to Seru* My poor Seru. Are you okay? *Alex walks away devastated* Seru: Just my shoulder hurts that’s all. Help me up please. *Catherine and Riggot help Seru up and take him to the sick bay* *In another part of the back oval, Alex is sitting on the grass sobbing. Jessica goes over to him.* Jessica: Hey, come on. I know it was an accident. *Alex doesn’t say anything but continues to cry* Jessica: Catherine didn’t mean what she said. She was just upset that Seru got hurt that’s all. *Alex continues to cry* Jessica: Come here. *hugs her older brother* Shush……. When she gets home from TAFE, Alison goes over to see Jenny and Brock. Alison: So what’s this announcement that you want to tell me Jen? Jenny: Well, I haven’t told Brock yet. But I’ll tell you anyway. I’m pregnant. *Alison gasps* Alison: Pregnant? You’re pregnant? *Jenny nods her head* Alison: CONGRATULATIONS!!!! *hugs Jenny* When did you find out? Jenny: Yesterday. I’m two months into the pregnancy. Alison: That is great news! *Brock opens the front door* Brock: Jenny? I’m home! Jenny: Great news honey. I’m pregnant. Brock: What? I thought you couldn’t have kids. Jenny: So did I. This is a shock. Brock: Well, I think it’s a blessing! *kisses Jenny before hugging Alison* Alison: Everyone’s pregnant lately. My mother, Dina and now you Jen. I’m so happy for you. At Alison and Jenny’s house, Nina is in the kitchen making a cup of tea when the doorbell rings. Nina opens it to find Dina standing there. Nina: What do you want? Dina: I came to talk to you. Christine: Rise and shine kids! You don’t want to be late. *All the Oloaga kids except Alex come out of their bedrooms wearing their school uniforms* Christine: Where’s Alex? Julianna: Still in bed I think. Christine: *calls out* Alex! Rise and shine! Jessica: I think he’s sick Mum. Christine: I suppose you’re right Jess. I’ll check up on him. *walks to Alex’s room* Julianna: *to Jessica* I’ll be at school a few minutes late. It’s my turn to take the younger ones to school. Jessica: Okay. I’ll see you there. *both walk outside* *Christine goes into Alex’s bedroom and sees him laying in bed* Christine: Get up Alex! You’ll be late for school! Alex: I’m not going. Christine: You have to! Alex: DID YOU HEAR ME?!? I’M NOT GOING TO SCHOOL EVER AGAIN!!!! Christine: Hey! Drop the attitude! Alex: Nobody wants me there anyway! *buries his head into the pillow* *Christine walks away* Christine: *thinking* Something is not right. I need to know what’s going on at school to make Alex stop going there. Meanwhile at TAFE, Alison has brought Justin and Fiona into her class to meet Vicki. Alison: Hello Vicki. Vicki: Hi Alison. *giggles* Alison: I would like you to meet Justin and Fiona. Vicki: Oh, are they from that program you and Kat are doing? Alison: Yes. Vicki: Well, it is so nice to meet the two of you. *giggles* Justin: Likewise. Fiona: I heard you burned a cat. Vicki: I did. I feel bad that I actually did it now. Fiona: Well, that’s in the past now. Hope we can be friends? Vicki: Of course. *laughs smugly* Justin: What is with that laugh? Vicki: I love having a good laugh. *From the back row, Erin watches them in disgust.* Erin: *thinking* Not only have you got no friends but when I expose your entire past, you are history! At Civic High, Jessica and Alexis are walking towards the back oval when they see Todd Back. Todd: Hey Jessica! Does your brother love to injure people? Alexis: **** off Todd! Todd: I wasn’t talking to you bitch! Jessica: That was an accident. Todd: Why don’t you just admit that your brother is a dirty rugby player? Jessica: *scoffs* This from someone who threw a basketball at Blake Jones’ face?!? Get a life! Todd: Where is Alex anyway? Crying at home like a baby? Jessica: THAT’S IT!! *punches Todd in the face* Alexis: Go Jess! Knock the bastard out! *Jessica then throws Todd into the brick wall* Jessica: Ever speak s*** about my brother again and I’ll have Julianna and Ben onto you. Clear? *Todd nods his head before running away* Alexis: *calls out* Don’t trip over! *Catherine arrives soon after* Catherine: Hey girls. Alexis: Hey. How’s Seru? Catherine: He’s injured his shoulder. He has to wear a sling for two weeks. Alex shouldn’t have tackled him in the first place. Jessica: It wasn’t his fault! Catherine: He may have done some serious damage. Jessica: IT WAS A F****** ACCIDENT CATHERINE!!! DON’T YOU KNOW THAT MOST PEOPLE GET INJURED PLAYING FOOTBALL!!!! *storms off* Catherine: What’s her problem? Alexis: She’s just upset. Catherine: Maybe I should apologise. Alexis: Just leave her. She needs to calm down first. Catherine: Seru kept telling me that it wasn’t Alex’s fault on the phone last night. I just hope his reputation isn’t damaged. When TAFE has finished, Alison and her friends go to the airport to welcome Rachael back home. *The girls go inside the airport and wait for Rachael to get off the plane.* Alison: This is so exciting! Melissa: I can’t wait to see her! Sylvia: She won’t be coming back to TAFE until Monday. But at least we can still see her. *Just then, a plane makes its landing. A few passengers get off and Rachael is among them* Kat: There she is! *points at Rachael* *Rachael walks over to where Alison, Melissa, Sylvia and Kat are standing* Rachael: HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *runs over to the girls* Alison: Welcome back bestie! *hugs Rachael* Kat: How was Samoa? Rachael: It was good. But am I glad to be back home! I’ve missed you all so much! Melissa: And we’ve missed you as well. Alison: It will be fun Rachael. Trust me. Rachael: Should we have a small gathering? Melissa: It’s up to you. Rachael: I only want my friends and family to be there. Sylvia: That’s okay with us. Rachael: I’ll see you at TAFE tomorrow. Bye. *walks out the front door* Alison: We’ll see you then. At the Oloaga’s house the next morning, Alex is still refusing to go to school (he fakes being sick). Christine: Why won’t you tell me what’s going on Alex? Alex: Nothing is going on Mum. I’m just sick. Christine: Are you sure? Alex: Yes Mum. I’m sure. *turns away from Christine* Christine: Okay. But I want you to go back to school on Monday. Alex: Fine. *When Christine walks out of his bedroom, Alex begins to cry. Jessica walks past his bedroom and hears him crying.* Jessica: Alex… Alex: Go to school Jess! I’ll be fine. *Jessica walks away sadly* When Jessica arrives at school, she is absolutely fuming. Alexis tries to find out what’s wrong Alexis: What’s wrong sis? Jessica: Alex won’t come to school and this morning I heard him crying his eyes out. Alexis: That’s awful love. Seriously, he didn’t mean to injure Seru. It was an accident. *Catherine walks over to them* Catherine: Hello girls. Alexis: Hello Catherine. *kiss each other on the cheek* *Jessica pretends not to hear Catherine* Catherine: I need to talk to you Jess. Jessica: I’m too busy at the moment. I’ll catch you later Alexis. Alexis: Bye. *Jessica walks away* Catherine: Is she still angry? Alexis: Don’t know. She sounded like it. Catherine: I just feel so bad. Alexis: Then why don’t you bloody apologise to her? Catherine: What do you think I was trying to do just then? Alexis: She’ll come around. Catherine: I hope so. *At the back oval, Riggot and a few other boys walk over to Jessica* Riggot: Sup Jessica! Jessica: Hey. Riggot: Where’s Alex been lately? Jessica: He’s been sick. Leon: It wasn’t his fault that Seru got injured. Seru: That’s right. Jessica: He think’s your all angry at him. Ben: Are you serious? No, we’re not angry at him. We’re actually worried about him. Tyson: When is he coming back? Jessica: Tomorrow maybe. Riggot: We’ll see him then. I’ll see you later. *walks off followed by the boys* Meanwhile at TAFE, Rachael is welcomed back into class with open arms. Roz: We have missed you so much Rachael. Rachael: I’ve missed you all too. *looks at Vicki* But I don’t think I know you. Vicki: *giggles* I only arrived this week. I’m Vicki Adams. *extends her hand to shake Rachael’s* Rachael: *takes the handshake* Rachael Manase. Kat: Rachael is one of our more popular students. Vicki: Cool. I’m starting to make friends myself. *laughs smugly* *From the back row, Erin thinks to herself.* Erin: *thinking* You will have no friends by lunchtime I can tell you that… Sure enough. During lunch, Erin grabs a microphone and starts to bear all. Erin: You know how Vicki Adams burned my cat alive? Well, that’s not all she did. She killed her own father! Alison: What is this?!? Erin: That’s right. She murdered her father and still walked free! *The students begin to mumble when Vicki stands up* Vicki: She’s right. I did murder my father. I was 18 when I killed him. Erin: Truth hurts doesn’t it Vicki? *Vicki doesn’t say anything but instead just runs away in tears.* Alison: Come on guys. Let’s go. *The students except Erin leave the lunchroom in shock and disgust* When Pamela Maddigan finds out about what just happened, she is not impressed with Erin. Pamela: HOW DARE YOU!!! DO YOU KNOW WHY SHE KILLED HER FATHER?!? DO YOU?!? Erin: No! Pamela: The man used to beat that girl black and blue. Obviously, you’re still bitter about what she did you your cat and saw this as a perfect chance for revenge. Erin: That is not true! Pamela: Spare me your excuses. You are suspended indefinitely! Get out of my sight! *Erin walks out Mrs Maddigan’s office and slams the door* At the same time, Vicki tells the whole class what her father did to her in her childhood. When she finishes, they all applaud her. Alison: That took a lot of courage girl. Rachael: Well done. Vicki: Thank you.
